Announcement [Official Megathread] An Update on How We Confirm Your Age: Safer for Teens, Same Discord for Adults
Hi everyone,
Today we're announcing the rollout of our new age assurance options, which you can read about here. Thanks to some changes we've made, most of you will not have to take any action at all.
Here's the TL;DR:
- Since our last post about teen safety, we've had to launch age assurance solutions in more places, including Texas and Brazil. Laws requiring age assurance are expanding around the world. Rather than waiting to be told how to do it, we're launching our own privacy-preserving approach: one that reflects your feedback and which means more than 90% of you won't be asked to confirm your age.
- You can check your age group status at User Settings > Account Status. We've estimated your age group automatically from account signals like how long your account has existed. We don't look at your messages, calls, or other content. We're launching this over the course of this week, so it may take a few days to reach your account.
- If you're in the adult age group (18+), nothing changes. If you're in the teen age group (13-17), you can keep messaging friends, joining voice calls, and participating in non-age-restricted servers, but with additional safety protections that block age-restricted content, spaces, and settings. Otherwise, Discord works the same.
We've got some more info in the image below, and if you want all the details you can read the full announcement here.

Bug Megathread Bug Megathread vol 17 October + November 2026
Hey (at)everyone,
Thank you for all the bugs you all have reported! We read all the posts in the thread and we’re focusing our efforts on issues based on upvotes to ensure that we’re aligned with all of you.
As always, don't forget to check out our monthly patch notes for updates on all the changes we're working on. Our last patch notes addressed 100+ issues!
Thanks to your reports on Reddit, we fixed the following issues:
- [Web] Search bar issues
- [Desktop] Increased CPU usage with typing events
- [Android] App contrast issues
- [Android] Event invite markdown not rendering properly
- [macOS] Forum tag emoji padding
If we didn’t fix your issue, please make sure to upvote to help us prioritize 🙏
Now, with that, let’s kick off the October + November 2026 bug megathread!
Please note: This megathread is not a venue for feedback or customer support! We encourage you all to continue to make posts on the subreddit proper discussing our product and feature launches. I want to make sure that we really keep this thread productive and focused on reporting bugs and helping us prioritize them.
Please look through the list of comments and upvote bug reports which you think we should prioritize fixing. Comment as a reply to those top level comments with any more details that can assist our team in prioritizing and fixing the bug. For example, if you have additional info or steps to reproduce, please post a reply, this will help us fix these bugs even faster. If there is no post that discusses the bug you’re encountering, then start a new post in the thread to report the bug to us!
Reporting a Bug
- The most valuable thing you can provide in a bug report is steps. If you’re able to provide steps to reproduce a high priority issue, it will dramatically improve turnaround time on a fix.
- Screenshots or videos are also useful, especially if you can’t reliably reproduce it. We highly recommend editing them to not doxx yourself. Not only does it help contextualize the issue, but watching it occur can sometimes provide information that helps us identify and fix it.
Example Bug Report
- Feature: Keybinds.
- Reproduction Rate: 1 to 10 - This is a score of how easy/consistently the bug reproduces, from 1 meaning “very hard to reproduce” to 10 meaning “i can consistently make this happen”
- Annoyance: 1 to 10 - How annoying is this bug to your daily usage of Discord, from 1 meaning, “not that annoying” to 10 meaning “this bug really truly sucks please fix this as soon as possible.”

Staff Reply [Official Megathread] Discoverable Servers are getting a bigger presence on the web
Hey folks, we have a new update rolling out soon that will be very relevant for those of you who run Discoverable Servers!
If you run a Discoverable Server (1K+ members, listed in Server Discovery), your community's knowledge is about to become a lot easier to find. Here's what's changing and what you can do before it goes live.
What's new:
- Server Web Pages: A page on the web that describes your server, so people can decide whether they want to join. If you haven't set one up, a default page goes live on Nov 16 using your Server Profile info. You can publish your own today or edit it anytime.
- Channel Summaries: Automated summaries of active conversations in your public channels, can start showing on Server Web Pages from Nov 16 onward. You can choose which channels they pull from, remove individual summaries, or turn them off entirely.
- Channel Messages: Answers from your public channels can appear in web search, in your members' own words. People can click through and land right in the conversation on Discord.
You'll be able to access your settings and toggles as they start to roll out today.
The timeline:
- Today: Your new controls will start rolling out today in Server Settings > Web Presence
- Nov 16: Every Discoverable Server that doesn’t already have a Server Web Page will get one. Server Web Pages may also start showing summaries of discussions in public channels.
- Mid-December: Channel Messages begin a gradual rollout, so it may be a few weeks before you see them live
What you control:
- Pick which channels take part, or opt all of them out, in Server Settings > Web Presence.
- If you don't change anything, public channels (those visible to everyone in the server) stay on by default.
- Channels where content may appear on the web will be labeled for your members on Discord.
- Usernames and avatars won’t be shown.
- Members can opt their own messages out, and messages from before mid-December won’t be shown on the web.
A Server Web Page is now a core part of being Discoverable. If you'd rather not have one, you can switch back to a Community Server.
Ideas for using it
- Turn your FAQ or help channels into an easy resource for new players.
- Promote events and content drops.
- Use announcements & forums to share game updates and wiki-style info.
We recommend reviewing your channel settings before Nov 16 so everything's set up the way you want it.

Bots / Devs I need a bot that have members reward roles to other members
Hello can anyone suggest me a good bot that can have members with a certain role reward another role to a member?
This might sound confusing but I have an event coming up in my server and I have my members working in teams. I need the team leader to be able to award a role for someone who wants to join his team but I don't wanna give him mod perms or let them mess around in roles so I was wondering if there is a bot that is able to do that for me?

Support Can't join a discord server even if I'm not banned
There's a discord server I'd really like to get in, but every link I can find says it's expired. I wrote to one of the mods and they checked if I was banned, which I was not, and sent me a fresh link, but that didn't work either.
Anyone knows a workaround?

Support Why did Discord remove friend requests from the Inbox?
Am I the only one annoyed by this?
Ever since the recent updates, friend requests just stopped showing up in the Inbox. I have a bunch of pending requests built up over time, so whenever a new person adds me, it gets totally lost in the massive list under the Pending tab.
Used to be that I could instantly spot who added me recently through the Inbox, but now there's zero alert for it there. If you have a lot of pending requests, how are you guys even tracking who just added you? Did they change this permanently or am I missing some setting?

Discussion How to fight Discord automatically re-enabling overlay that I fully disabled?
Before resorting to cooking a hacky ai solution to this, I wanted to ask if maybe someone already did that. Every once in a while, discord silently re-enables the overlay thinking I won't notice. Unacceptable. I won't tolerate their overlay no matter how many times they re-enable it.

Support Discord says saving clip but doesn’t actually clip anything
Just like the title says I try to clip something and it says saving clip but then nothing ever saves. Everytime I check my clips it says I have none and it was working fine just a few hours ago. The only thing I’ve done recently was I went and deleted a lot of my old clips but now it won’t clip anything! Any help would be greatly appreciated, I’ve already tried turning clips off and on, restarted pc, rebooted discord, idk what else to try to do. I even switched folders of where the clips save and that didn’t fix it either so idk what to do.

Support Push notifications not working
For some reason, I haven't been receiving push notifications on my phone recently. I've tried clearing my cache and memory, updating and deleting the app, turning my notifications off and on, restarting my device, checking my mobile notification delay—nothing.
I know it isn't my battery saver since I have the push notifications set to still go off, and even with my battery saver disabled, I still won't get notifications. I'm not sure why this has randomly started happening since it worked fine before.
The phone I use is Samsung Galaxy A16 5G on the latest update (16)

Support Open Discord, Chrome closes. Restore session, Discord closes... repeat.
I've had Discord for years and used Chrome for years. I've done nothing new with the two. Lately, I will open Discord and my Chrome will disappear (but sounds keep playing from YouTube video). If I then restore my tabs using Session Buddy, Discord closes and I have to repeat this over and over. Can anyone help me with this issue? I don't even know what to try
I use Windows and Discord seems to be updated to latest version.

Support How are scammers detecting when a user opens a private support ticket (without channel access) and immediately sending friend requests?
Hi everyone,
We are dealing with an issue on our Discord server where scammers immediately send friend requests (impersonating our support staff) to users within seconds of them opening a support ticket, and I am trying to understand how they are detecting who opened the ticket.
What is happening:
- Users open a support ticket (tickety or ticket tool bot) by clicking a button on our ticket panel (no public message or reaction is required in the support channel).
- As soon as the ticket is created, the user receives friend requests and DMs from fake staff accounts trying to phish them (and they are not in the Discord).
What we have already checked and implemented:
- Channel permissions: Ticket channels are strictly private (
@everyoneand regular member roles haveView Channeldenied; only the user who opened the ticket, the ticket bot, and our support staff role have access). - No public triggers: Opening a ticket is done via button interaction, and our ticket logs are kept in a private staff-only channel.
- Role/permission audit: We verified that creating a ticket does not assign a publicly visible role to the user and checked our audit logs and bot permissions for any obvious leaks.
My main question:
If regular server members do not have permission to view the ticket category or private ticket channels, how are scammers able to know the exact moment a specific user opens a ticket?
Does Discord's gateway/API leak CHANNEL_CREATE or permission overwrites (the user's ID) to non-privileged clients in certain category/thread configurations, or is there another known vector (such as active threads visibility, presence updates, or a specific ticket bot setting) that we need to lock down? Any advice on how to stop this leak would be greatly appreciated!

Support Can a Discord Server Have No Owner or Admins?
I used to run a Discord server but left several years ago. Before leaving, I transferred ownership to my right-hand man, and that was that.
Now I'm trying to rejoin, but the people still in the server can't figure out who the current owner or admins are. From what they can see, everyone has the Member role, and nobody has an Admin role.
Surely someone must have admin privileges, right? Or is it actually possible for a server to have no active owner or admins?
Is there any way for the current members to find out who owns the server or who has administrator permissions?
We are good friends so it’s not that they don’t want me to join

Support Problem with watching streams on browser
I primarily use Microsoft Edge for Discord, but recently have had a problem with viewing streams on VC. Whenever I switch tabs for a long period of time and then switch back, it gives me Error: 2012. I've already tried enabling and disabling hardware acceleration with no results.
I would like to continue using browser instead of the app, since I have more control over what tabs I can stream. Any help is appreciated.

Discussion Suggestions for a couch PTT button?
Short version is that I like to watch movies with the boys over Discord. I use a Shokz Opencomm2 as a headset to both talk and hear them and then have the movie itself play out of my TV speakers. This specific type of headset is ideal because it allows me to actually hear the movie through my nice speakers while also hearing them talk.
The unfortunate issue I'm encountering however is that the headset tends to pick up audio from the movies, particularly dialogue. I'm looking for something I can use while lounging on my couch as a push to talk button. I can't use the normally recommended foot pedals since I'll be laying down, and using my keyboard and/or mouse isn't very comfortable. Any suggestions?

Support Discord Boost on Server Do I Lose It?
Hi, I am new to Discord and also a first-time Discord server owner. My goal is to get my server to Level 3, which requires 7 boosts. My question is: for example, if I have 7 friends and we all boost the server once (7boost-people x 1 = Level 3) so it reaches Level 3, what happens when our Nitro expires or if we don't renew our Nitro subscriptions? Will the server level reset to Level 0?

Support Sudden unexplained mass leavers from server
As per the title, a server I’m an admin in has a lot of mass leavers really suddenly. It has been happening constantly since yesterday. There have been over 100 members leave the server.
- the audit log has been checked, no owners or admins have undertaken a pruning exercise, nor are any of the owners/admins removing/banning members
- the server has been open for a few years, but has been somewhat inactive for the last year; doesn’t frequently have new posts, and joiners must be verified/have roles assigned before they can post. Nobody new has joined the server in some time.
- Dyno (bot) has had access for removal/bans revoked temporarily (to see if this was what was causing it), however, there has been no change - and the constant leaver notifications are still coming through
——
Does anyone know why this would be?
It’s completely unexplainable from our end. Due to the general level of inactivity, I don’t believe that the members are leaving themselves, as nothing has happened to have caused this.
These are actual accounts that have been previously verified too, so they’re not bot accounts etc.
The frequency in which the notifications come through is unnatural, which is also why I don’t think the members are manually leaving, either.
I think the main concern is that nothing is showing on any logs, and given I know the other admins/owner, I can verify that no action has been undertaken manually.
