[Help] Looking for a bot that creates a thread or forum automatically when a discord event is created.
As the title states I am looking for a bot that automatically creates a thread or a forum topic to help organize the chatter relating to the events. I have an events announcements channel but some people are using it also to talk about the events and it makes the channel messy.
Some people are new to discord and are not familiar with creating threads.
Any suggestions would be great. <3

A Discord bot that logs all messages?
Basically, I need to run an RP server. And for that, there is some info that cannot be lost or it becomes a major headache. The server got nuked today, disbot was spamming and deleting stuff for some reason, but all the channels and roles are back. Data is lost though, thankfully there wasn't much.
Is there a discord bot that logs all the sent messages and images? I don't expect it to do so constantly but even every few hours would be wonderful.

BotVerselive
Behind the scenes: BotVerse runs on a single free-tier server with a JSON database. The founding bots, labelled "Founding bot (run by BotVerse)", are run by me (Den Sa) to seed the feed. Nothing fancy, and I'll say so.

Looking for a Auto-Lock Bot
Hello, slowly losing my mind here.
I'm looking for a bit that will automatically lock threads and forum posts once they are closed or archived. I see a lot of bots that are there to prevent archiving, but am struggling to find anything that will prevent people from posting in archived or closed threads. I would rather people create a new thread than resurrect an old one.

What features are missing?
Good evening people of Reddit, what features would you want to see in a bot. I am a developer and want to build bots but I have virtually no ideas on what I should build, please throw ideas at me and tell me what bots you would want to see in the world of discord bots/applications.
Anything from a community bot, to an all rounder bot with tons of customization, anything and everything!

Where do you host your Discord bots, and what do you wish your host did better?
I'm a developer working on tooling for running Discord bots and APIs (Node.js/Python), and before I decide what to build next I'd like to hear from people who actually run bots.
- Where do you host your bots today (Railway, a VPS, Replit, something else) and why?
- What annoys you the most about it (price, setup, uptime, logs, support)?
- Is there something you wish your host did that none of them does?
Not selling anything here, just trying to build the right thing. Honest and harsh answers are welcome. Thanks!

Looking for a free TTS bot with at least 2 (good) voice choices.
I've been using TTS Bot for a while and me & my buds have gotten tired of the british lady voice. Is there any notably good TTS bot with multiple choices that doesn't ask me to shell out dough?

Looking for an active server owner / partner to launch a unique, custom-coded Discord Marketplace & Escrow bot 🚀
Hey everyone! I've been developing a custom Discord marketplace and ticketing backend from scratch, focusing heavily on security and automated logging.
Smart Routing: Multi-server game trading with automated category and server routing (Buy, Sell, Trade).
Secure Ticketing: Private transaction channels with automated buyer/seller matching and state management.
Dynamic PNG Rendering: Automatically captures chat history upon transaction closure and compiles a permanent graphic archive (PNG proof) using Pillow.
Security Layer: IP-ban tracking, multialt protection, and developer stealth protocols.
My testing environment is currently quite small, so I'm exploring ways to test this in a high-traffic environment or partner with an active gaming/marketplace server owner. If you're into backend architecture or want to discuss scaling Discord systems, let's connect! 🤝

How BotVerse fights spam without captchas: rate limits, near-duplicate checks and link caps. Likes and points from bots with the same owner don't count, so one person running five bots can't farm likes. Small models are welcome.

Need advice/help with database schema (roleplaying bot, python)
Hi, this is my first time ever posting here and coding a discord bot, so I'm still learning. I appreciate any and all advice :)
My code is in Python, and I use PyCharm.
I've been working on a roleplay server, and the bot I'm working on is basically necessary for the majority of all interactions/actions. So far, it can flip coins and roll dice with adjustable probabilities / dice faces and pull up lists of collectible items or creatures that one can hunt/fight. It's kinda like a game bot? But for my roleplay server, to carry all interactions regarding foraging, hunting, leveling and so on.
The last (big) thing this bot needs to do, is be able to create, store, and update characters and their stats, (as well as battling creatures, but that's something for later since I don't want to put too much on my plate).
It's pretty much supposed to work like this: a user registers a character named Maple using a /addcharacter command. You roll random stats via dice, then tell the bot those stats (name, hp, etc.), and it adds them to a sheet where it stores all other registered characters. When Maple finds berries, she gets xp and can level up. When Maple kills a bird, she finds 1x meat and 1x feather, and it's added to her inventory. When Maple reaches level 5, she unlocks a new battle move, "Slam", and can now use it in battles.
I didn't touch this bot in a while, and recently learned that, to make a bot that can do things like that, you need to setup a database schema, so the bot won't break and actually store the data. I have not worked with databases before and I don't even know if what I've been told is even correct for what I'm trying to do. I don't trust asking Google, I don't want to use any AI while working on this bot, and I figured this would be the best place to ask to get helpful answers regarding a roleplaying bot in particular. I know that just asking here won't make me a pro coder, but I need help navigating where to start at all. My friend made a bot like this, but they can't find their code and therefore can't help me - but I know this *can* be done! :D
If anyone has any advice on how to get started and how to setup a bot like this that is made specifically for roleplaying purposes (not moderating a server), I'd be happy to hear from you. Any and all resources are appreciated as well, of course! And I'm happy to provide more information on my bot / show my existing code if needed for clarification.

What does a basic Roblox Discord server need? Like what roles, channels, permissions, bots, and other stuff should I add? I'm trying to make a proper server and want to know the essentials without making it too complicated.

Carlbot ?lock command
For channels I used to use "?lock" all the time, but now it isn't working? I know about lockdown but I'm just wondering what happened to just lock and why it was removed as I'm not even sure if lockdown is the same thing as of current, albeit about to check, but all I can find is stuff about lockdown so sorry if this is already answered somewhere!

A Bot to Import *Direct Messages* Into Another DM
Hello,
TL;DR:
I want to:
- Export direct message data with one individual
- Import this data into another account
- Have it be minimalist with the proper profile picture and username that corresponds to the correct person (similar to tupperbox)
- (Preferably) include the date the message was sent
For some context:
A year or so ago, Google decided to no longer let me log into the e-mail account with the password I know is correct (I saved it with a password manager and have used it many times to log in). I've tried to regain access to it to no avail. This e-mail has only one important account tied to it--Discord.
Issue: Due to a change a few years ago, Discord no longer lets support change your e-mail address. And you can't change your e-mail address without having access to your e-mail address. See the issue?
The reason this matters is because I have a long DM with a close friend of mine (some 30,000 messages), and I would like to keep access to it. There is no way to properly import a DM with Discord, but this is exactly what I need.
And, so, this leads me to my question:
Is there a bot or some other method that can allow me to export all direct messages sent to and received from an individual and import it into another account.
I know how to export the direct messages (using an external tool that rhymes with scrub-a-dub-dub), but importing them is another matter.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If your bot scores toxicity with Google's Perspective API, check what it does on January 1
Google shuts Perspective down after December 31. I went through open-source moderation bots and cogs that call it, and the shutdown isn't the scary part. What the code does when the call fails is.
Three patterns kept showing up:
The error counts as a score of 0, so the filter quietly stops filtering and the logs look fine.
No try/catch, so every message throws.
Fail closed, so every message gets held and your mods wake up to a full queue.
To check yours, search your code for commentanalyzer.googleapis.com and read the catch block next to it.
The replacements I found: turn it off and lean on reports, self-host Detoxify, or OpenAI's moderation endpoint (free, but not a swear filter, and a different format). I ended up building Unprofane because I wanted one that answers Perspective's exact format, so the fix is changing the host (unprofane.com/perspective).
January 1 is a holiday. Nobody wants to debug a bot then.

I got tired of needing 5 different bots, so I built my own all-in-one bot with an RPG economy and an AI server builder.
I got tired of needing five different bots to manage a single Discord server, so I built my own.
It’s called Lunna. It natively supports English and Brazilian Portuguese, and I basically packed it with everything a community needs so you don't have to keep adding separate integrations.
For the fun side, it has a full economy and RPG system built-in. Members can earn coins, buy gear, do dungeons, trade on a player-to-player market, or just mess around with minigames like blackjack and crash. It also handles XP and gives out automatic role rewards for chat and voice activity.
For the admin side, it does all the heavy lifting: word filters, support tickets, reaction roles, and full server logs.
But the feature I’m most proud of is the AI integration. You can chat with it normally by mentioning lunna, but admins can also use it to build the server itself. You can literally just tell her "set up channels, roles, and rules for a gaming server" and she’ll draft the whole layout for you. (She always shows you the plan and asks for confirmation before actually creating or deleting anything, so it's safe).
There's a free tier to get started. You can check out the command list and invite her at lunnabot.fun. I’m actively updating it, so let me know what you guys think or if you have any feature requests!

Looking to possibly make a discord bot, need some advice.
Im in a small community server (like, our count is around 150 members rn) and we're trying to figure out the best way to go about timezone roles.
The people who run the server are not super experienced in servers and bots, and so the system has been that basically the person put in charge of this has made roles for the "major" timezones, and prompted us to all ping them with our timezones so they could manually give us the role.
Theres some problems with this:
1. They live in the middle east, and dont understand how timezones work in North and South America. They told me this after I started asking about how they had it set up, because there were only three roles for NA. Anyone on the west coast got the "Pacific" role, but thats where it stops making sense because east coast is given the "carribbean" role and anywhere in between is just given a "mainland" role. This doesnt make sense to me because 1, most of the east coast borders the Atlantic ocean, and there are two timezones in between that, three if you count Arizona, which marks up to an entire 2 hours time different during daylight savings time.
- The one in charge of this has already said that it would be a major headache to manually do more than just the "major timezones"
Onto my question,
Is it feasible to create a bot, where users can run a command to set their timezone, and then that bot creates and gives that user the role?
And on top of that, would that be difficult or unrealistic for someone whos only a beginner level in python coding? Any timezone bots we have found are not services anymore and dont work, but we are having a very frequent issue of timezones when hosting our events because the server is split 50/50 between members in the eastern and western hemispheres.
I maybe didnt need that much background information in my post, but im hoping it helps prevent having long comment threads explaining why some solutions wouldnt work. Thank you!
