Mt. Talinis Trails in Valencia Closed Starting Nov. 1.

The Municipality of Valencia will temporarily close all trails leading to Mt. Talinis within its territorial jurisdiction effective November 1, 2026.

Municipal Mayor Edgar Z. Teves Jr. signed Executive Order No. 45, Series of 2026, on October 26, ordering the closure to allow the mountain's ecosystem to recover.

According to the order, the number of climbers in Mt. Talinis — also known as Cuernos de Negros — has grown significantly due to increased interest in outdoor activities, contributing to the deterioration of its ecosystem which has already endured damage from years of continuous human activity.

Mayor Teves said the closure will provide the mountain a "reasonable amount of time of undisturbed season" to fully recover and maximize its benefits for the people, especially Valencianons.

The Philippine National Police will lead the implementation of the closure in coordination with the Municipal Tourism Office.

The executive order did not specify when the trails will reopen. Trekkers and tour organizers are advised to coordinate with the Valencia Tourism Office for further advisories.

For instance, I wanted to enter an establishment I always loved visiting but then saw the big AI tarp outside their place. It saddened me but I had to leave because it makes me realize that if they can’t put care into their advertising then they must probably not care much about their customers. It makes it appear like you’re all lazy and you’re just in it for the money. (Of course you need revenue but some people also do it to genuinely offer their excellent services)

Hi, everyone!

I don't know if some of you still remember Popoy, but around three weeks ago, I posted here asking for help with fundraising for his surgery. He was shot with an improvised PVC gun that fires marble bullets, and the bullet was lodged in his sinus area.

I immediately brought him to Cats and Dogs Vet Clinic for an X-ray, laboratory tests, and medication. I had already spent almost ₱9K . Ingon ang vet nga he needed immediate surgery, and I had to prepare around ₱19K for it.

Honestly, dili na gyud kaya sa akong budget. Nahurot na akong savings. My mother even told me nga hinay-hinayon na lang daw nako pagdawat in case mawala si Popoy. I remember walking out of the clinic crying, carrying Popoy with me, and he was barely breathing at that time. Before going home, niagi me sa Perpetual Church. I prayed and surrendered everything to God because I didn't know what else to do. I lost my 12-year-old cat just months ago, and I prayed, "Lord, kung pwede lang, ayaw sa intawn kuhaa si Popoy nako."

When I got home, I received a message from a friend who suggested another veterinary clinic that might offer a more affordable surgery. I decided to give it a try, and wala gyud ko magmahay.

I started fundraising here on Reddit and Soc Med and I was overwhelmed by the amount of help and support I received. Dako kaayo inyong natabang sa pagpa-opera ni Popoy. You gave me hope when I was already running out of options.

We brought Popoy to Sierra Veterinary Clinic, where Dr. Pierre performed the surgery and saved him. The surgery went well, and I could genuinely feel the care and concern they had for Popoy. I will always be grateful to them for giving him another chance at life.

As for the incident, my concerned neighbors and I also raised our concerns with our barangay captain, not only for our pets' safety but for our own safety as well. Giadto sila sa Kapitan and Police.

Unfortunately, wala gyud mi video evidence. The person we reported denied having an improvised marble gun and claimed that he only used a boga to scare the cats away because they disturbed his sleep when they fought on the rooftop. He also mentioned that some cats had scratched his van, so he would scare them with firecrackers. The police and barangay officials have already issued a warning.We can only hope nga dili na ni mausab, and that our community and our pets can be safe.

And now, here's Popoy!

He's now on his THIRD WEEK of recovery! Seeing him alive, eating, and slowly recovering makes me so happy. Every day with him feels like a blessing.

We went back to church, and this time, kuyog na nako si Popoy nga wala na ang bala sa iyang ulo. From praying desperately for his life to bringing him back to church after his surgery, I can't explain how grateful I am.

I'm sorry it took me a while to post another update. Na-busy gyud ko sa work while looking after Popoy and making sure he's recovering well.

To everyone who donated, shared my post, sent messages, offered prayers, and kept Popoy in your thoughts, THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. ❤️ I may not be able to thank each one of you individually, but please know that your kindness made a real difference in Popoy's life.

You helped save a life. You helped me hold on to hope when I was ready to give up.

This morning, I ordered a food on Tiffles via Maxim. I had my usual order which is their carbonara and a milktea. I told the driver that I would pay in gcash and he said okay. I already have an estimated amount on what to pay since this isn't my first time ordering from them. And then he gave me a total of ₱290 which I find suspicious and reviewed the menu tiffles sent to me. At this time, he's still at Tiffles, I wanted to confront him but decided against it nalang kay I was overthinking of what he could do to my food when things go down. And so I waited for him and asked the receipt when he hand me the foods but he said wala daw receipt from Tiffles which is unusual kay everytime I order via Maxim they always have receipts for transparency. But then again since it's still early in the morning hinayaan ko na siya. So I messaged Tiffles for confirmation if the total that rider asked is accurate and turns out he asked for more than what the actual total is. I wanted to report it sana but I am overthinking since he knew my address. Just wanted to raise awareness nalang for u guys.
