I thought finding Steven Spielberg's first feature film was a nice find, but then i did a Google image search of the shelves and asked Google which videos in used condition would sell on ebay for over $15. It identified a few duds, but i think it gave enough hits to give me a profit from my hobby.

I’m feeling indecisive today and I grabbed far too many of my favourites this week to know what I actually fancy watching tonight

I won’t mince words, I fucking hate eco cases. Picking up a title and feeling it flex and squish in a light grasp really kills the sensory aspect of the DVD experience. On titles I’ve thrifted that I especially enjoy I have swapped the disc and cover into sturdier cases from movies I like less.
Does anyone else do this? Does anyone know any good sources of cheap sturdy replacement cases?

I will rate and list the movies I've seen throughout the marathon as I go and whether I've seen it before or 1st time watch.
A hood classic. Still holds up.
Absolute boring cheap trash of a movie. Wouldn't recommend watching it.
Still solid.
It was ok.
Absolutely a banger zombie movie.
This one felt pretty weak to me compared to the 1st
Better than 2 but not as good as 1.

Shifting box sets can be tedious when moving your collection around to fit in new pickups. Anyone else just put big box sets in their own section at the beginning so you're only moving around normal releases?

My family and I used to have tons of DVDs when I was a kid, and I wanted to get back into that. What do you guys think?

Been collecting for a few years, almost all from local yard sales, thrift shops, library sales...I love the treasure hunt feeling and randomly finding good things for so cheap.
But... almost 1000 dvds in, I'm starting to see so many of the same discs out there, and it's hard to find the movies I really, really want.
At what point do you bite the bullet and just start getting exactly what you want from Amazon or Ebay or another source?

Was able to snag these from goodwill before work today. The blu ray and Waylon Jennings: Live in Nashville both still sealed

Found a couple of more DVDs in the $5 bin to add to my collection. I got Pacific Rim 2-Movie Collection and The Year Without A Santa Claus Deluxe Edition. I also happen to come across The Incredible Hulk complete series on Blu-ray for around $50 while looking at box set sections. I looked it up on Amazon to compare prices, and it was no longer available except from 3rd party sellers with the lowest price being around $70, so I snatched it up immediately.

What movies do you own on DVD and you are sad that that never got a Blu-ray release?
For me it's Adventures of Pluto Nash with Eddie Murphy, Encino Man with Pauly Shore and Sean Austin, Freddy Got Fingered with Tom Green, If Looks Could Kill with Richard Grieco, In The Army Now with Pauly Shore and Andy Dick, and Son In Law with Pauly Shore and Carla Gugino.
With a shout-out to The Distinguished Gentleman with Eddie Murphy. I don't own the DVD, but it's 1 I look for whenever I go thrifting, but would also love to see a Blu-ray release of it.
