Goodbye to the idea that solar panels “die” after 25 years. A new study says the warranty does not mark the end, and performance can last for decades. Arrays built in the late 1980s still produced more than 80% of their original power. The long-term economics look better than many people believe.

Cancer risk may increase with proximity to nuclear power plants. In Massachusetts, residential proximity to a nuclear power plant (NPP) was associated with significantly increased cancer incidence, with risk declining sharply beyond roughly 30 kilometers from a facility.
No Wonder Trump Doesn’t Care About Gas Prices. It’s Making Him Rich. Trump’s personal holdings in the oil industry have ballooned in value by tens of millions of dollars in the last 10 months. Meanwhile, Americans are paying more for gas under Trump than during the Biden administration.

Americans' electric bills are eating up their grocery budgets
The Diesel Diversion: Trump’s Faulty Attempt to Blame Inflation on Ukraine. What drove American diesel past $6 a gallon was never a shortage of Russian supply, but historic bottlenecks from Trump's war in Iran. And Trump's diesel fuel deal with Putin amounts to a drop in the bucket.

White House proclamation orders trade negotiations over wind turbine imports
spglobal.comPresident Donald Trump said in an Oct. 22 proclamation that imports of wind turbines constitute a national security threat, but he did not place any tariffs on the industry.
The proclamation stems from a Section 232 probe into wind turbine imports launched by Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick in August 2025. Following the conclusion of the probe, Trump directed Lutnick and US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to pursue negotiations designed to address the national security issues and report back to the White House in 180 days, according to the proclamation.

Opinion | How Trump Unwittingly Boosted Green Energy
With no relief at the pump in sight, Fox clings to desperate closing argument on gas prices. For the past month, Fox News hosts and contributors have been claiming that Democrats caused Trump’s high gas prices, and midterm wins for them will make prices even worse. [Liars]

Prismatic batteries to supercharge US power grid with 17% more energy
Samsung SDI will supply 1 GWh of US-made battery storage for projects serving the Western US and Texas power markets, with cells produced at its Indiana joint-venture plant. Its new 20-foot battery container reportedly offers 17% higher energy density, a 25-year service life, direct fire-suppression technology, and AI-based fault monitoring. Could domestic production and longer-lasting systems meaningfully improve grid reliability, or will project cost remain the bigger barrier?

Alaska LNG: Should South Korea Be Considered a Development Partner, Not Just a Buyer?
dorsing the Russian-linked financing arrangements reported in connection with Polar LNG.
My question is whether Alaska's resources and Korea's industrial capabilities could be combined to create lasting benefits for both economies.
Such a partnership could eventually extend beyond LNG to shipping, ports, logistics, and two-way trade across the North Pacific.
I would like to hear your thoughts on three simple questions:
- Which LNG development approach makes more economic sense for Alaska, and why?
- How could Alaska and South Korea work together so both benefit?
- Could this partnership create new opportunities beyond LNG, such as shipping and trade?
I welcome different opinions, especially from people familiar with Alaska, energy development, shipping, or international trade.
Note: English is not my first language. The ideas and opinions in this post are my own. I used AI to help express them more clearly in English.

SunHydrogen Makes Strategic Investment in NewHydrogen
Fact Sheet: Costs of the Iran War. Trump's war has raised prices across the board, increased inflation, and costs about $2,000 per household. Trump seems to have no plan to exit the war, despite the massive cost to American families, national security, and stability in the Middle East.

For Black voters, climate action means little without relief from rising costs
Grist reports that Black Americans are worried about utility bills, data center buildout and local pollution, and they want elected officials to act on all three. For anyone working on energy policy, the point is that climate plans land better when they also bring bills down.
