General The Struggle is Real. Midterm reminder: You are not your GPA (Resources & Support Inside)
Midterm grades are coming out, and if you’re feeling disappointed with your grades or progress right now, please remember: it happens, and you are not alone.
A few important things to keep in mind as results come in:
- You are not defined by your GPA or grade numbers. Your grades and GPA reflect a few tests and assignments, not your worth as a person. You are far more important than any grade on a screen.
- Support is available; use it. Reach out to your professors, academic advisors, counselling services or student services. Whether you need academic accommodations, tutoring, or mental health support, people are there to help you navigate this.
Also, remember that Mental health resources aren't just for extreme emergencies. You do not need to have active suicidal thoughts to reach out for mental health support. If you're overwhelmed, anxious, or just having a hard time coping, these services are for you, too.
Being a student and carrying high expectations for yourself is genuinely tough. Please take care of yourselves this week.
