Any 🌐 FA’s that can help with CCS?
New hire. Having some trouble with the system and just really trying to get started. Anyone that can help me start from the bottom?

Reroute stories
Share your most chaotic and unhinged reroute stories with me bc I’m bored. I wanna know how your turn got turned into a 3 day or how your 24 hour Paris layover turned into a minimum rest layover in Omaha. Please share 😂

Travel with toddler
What is it realistically possible with hopping on a flight to Paris just for a day. Just to plant our feet and fly back like the next day via IAD? Would there be available seats going there and back ? Or would that be stupid?
I’d like to fly with my toddler and have her experience this. She’s itching to get on a plane with me again but I’d like to make an international flight out rather than domestic.
Mind you I’m a regional flight attendant right now. Working on my luck going mainline when the universe allows me.

what’s the hottest things a hotel has that just screams “AYEEE” to you
i’m usually a debby downer, let’s be silly
hotels, you walk in; first thing you see and go “OMG THANK YOU”
i’ll start, grabbing the thermostat and blasting it to antártica, and the thermostat isn’t locked, and goes LOW, not no 68, 70 i want 50 okay
hotels with amenity kits, now i’m talking about the ones with a comb, toothbrush, sewing kit, lotion, EVERYTHING; i’m restocking
hotels that have a “text this number if you need anything” i don’t like talking on phones, this. this is hot.
finally a hotel that has a section where the vanity is separated from the toilet and shower, like the little guest room before you go into the bathroom bathroom, very elegant, very distinguished
anyways, anything else that makes you happy to be there?
edit: i dont know words lmao

🌐 INT FWD Galley Advice
Heyo! I picked up an international trip and realized later I read the staffing sheet wrong, and that it’s FWD galley position. I’ve only worked economy INT service, but i have been purser on transcons on the plane I’ll be on, so im not /completely/ foreign to the galley and how it’s set up (in the sense of I know where carts and carriers are, like the trash being hidden around the corner etc lol)
Ive posted the trip in ads, but end of the day i /would/ still like to work it. I know to study the ISG, and someone has sent me a brief breakdown of what to do during boarding, after departure, before pre-arrival, etc.
Posting for this: do any galley veterans have any sage advice, tips and tricks, recommendations? I plan to bring multicolor sharpies + sticky notes for labeling and gardening gloves, as well as nerves of steel for whatever amount of patience my crew has for me lol
Any advice welcome! Thank you 🫶

Sick during a turn
I had abdominal pain and threw up mid turn. They pulled me from the flight and advised I go to the emergency room. EAP (employee assistance program) is saying to file workers comp to cover my medical bills but friends/coworkers who were in a similar boat are advising I file FMLA (to cover sick points) and have medical bills covered through my personal insurance.
Has anyone ever been in this (very specific, sorry) situation and what did you do? Similar situations? Just trying to evaluate what to do. I'm supposed to leave for vacation in a few weeks and want to avoid any LOA.
(I do not want to go through the OJI process most of all, so if there's a way to do this without filing OJI then I want to do that. I only bring up OJI because my manager mentioned it when we spoke)

Why does this profession have a disproportionate amount of people 60+
Completely anecdotal, but I have noticed that there are a lot more people 60+ working as flight attendants compared to other professions. Why do you think this is the case?

Help! Tubes in ears? Ear help!
I’ve consistently had ear problems but this time it’s quite bad. I have an ear infection and can’t fly and i haven’t been able to hear for DAYS. I need to meet with an ENT asap but can’t get appointment until like December. I have nasal spray, I take Sudafed, I do all the things. I love my job and don’t want to change careers and plan to do this long term. Has an ent helped or had you had tubes or anything that helped???
Also has anyone had clogged ears for days and days due to infection? I flew when I was slightly congested, like barely and it messed me up. I had already called in for a whole 6 days so I went to work for one day and had to call in again.
I’m really just rambling but any advice or inputs on what you have done or what your ENT has said would be helpful! I don’t want to loose my hearing

flight attendant appreciation post!
hi, doubt the targeted person will see this, but theres a chance!
Saturday the 24th, I took a ryan air flight. As to not doxx myself too much all i will say is a Spanish territory, to a Scottish one.
I was having a pretty tiring day (travel and general life stuff), and couldn’t really be bothered with anything. Mid Flight I asked for a water, and received it for free. not sure how common this is, or how acceptable this is for the company ( hence why I am doing this post rather than emailing directly ) but I really appreciated it, and you seemed really nice.
sure to some it was just a cheap bottle of water, but it really boosted my mood, so thank you!

What is a line?
Hello! I’m cabin crew in Europe. I’ve been trying to work out what exactly it means when North American crew refer to “holding a line”? Is it like a trip that you do regularly, ie monthly? Or just non-standby working patterns?
I’ve been attempting to get a grip on what it means by context and I feel like I don’t quite have it yet.
Can someone shed some light?

Don’t come to work sick!!
As we begin cold/flu season, just wanted to give a friendly PSA to not come to work if you’re sick.
On my last trip, someone on my crew said they tested positive for covid, but didn’t want a point, so they were still working. Not only did they expose the entire crew and our family/friends, but also almost 400 passengers, their families, friends and so on. They ended up calling out mid trip because they were so sick and got a point anyway. So ridiculous.
You’d think they would have been at least trying to keep their distance as best as they could, but no. They had their mask off eating, sitting next to everyone, coughing everywhere, touching everything etc.
So guess who now has covid? Me.
Not only am I missing out on pay (I need to be working), but I’m at home miserably sick because of one individual’s selfish, inconsiderate actions.
I understand sick policies in the industry are punitive, but please be mindful and considerate of your fellow coworkers.

CLT to BNA - AA
Hi, this might not be the correct sub to ask in, but I wanted to see how many flight attendants are usually on a flight from Charlotte to Nashville? Just wondering because I want to make sure I bring enough cards for each person! Thank you! 😊

62 Bus EWR
Hi guys. Another transportation post. EWR based FA here again. How do people who work at the airport feel about the 62 bus from Newark Penn to the terminals? Do you find it reliable? Is it sketchy? All thoughts are appreciated! Thank you

American (AA) New hire AA question
New hire question. How does doubling up work? I got assigned a turn today but want to keep working. Can I call crew scheduling when I get back to see if there’s anything else I can be assigned?

Flying w plane obsessed toddler
Mods feel free to delete if this isn’t allowed.
I’m flying with my toddler in a couple weeks, she’s obsessed with airplanes and helicopters, and has been begging us to take her on an airplane for like a year (she flew as a baby but obviously doesn’t remember). Do airlines still let kids peek in the cockpit? Or give out wings or anything? Is there anything I can do or ask our crew when we board to make it special and memorable for her?

United (UA) DFW & SMF are the new UA (satellite) FA bases.
Whoever posted that DFW & SMF will be the new bases is right. Just saw the announcement on social media.

Cabin Crew!!! Which US airline has the best looking uniform?
The other day I was on a layover and this massive group of Qatar flight attendants walked in to the lobby of our hotel to check in and they had me double taking lol. Their uniforms look really good and they seemed polished just in general.
So it had me thinking about US airlines. Which airline do you think as the best looking uniform especially when walking through the terminal?

Jersey City Commute
Hey guys. EWR based FA here. Just recently moved to Jersey city and I’m having difficultly with parking. I can’t get a parking permit unless I become a Jersey resident (ie new ID, new registration, plates, etc.) and that’s just not something I want to do. Considering ditching my car for the train but I realized I enjoy the ease of having a car. Any advice? Looking at a couple garages but any other advice/stories would be greatly appreciated!

Uniform reactions at 🌐, specifically the white button up blouse.
Since last Feb, I have constantly been struggling with folliculitis in my armpit and side area. At first i thought it was my razor. Got a new one. Then my deodorant. Went with a more natural deo. Or bra. Bought Uniqlo airism bra top tank to wear under my shirt.
The only constant was that I only wore the button up blouse to work. I bought sanitizing detergent thinking it's bacterial. Nothing. I bought new blouses that shouldn't have any of my body bacteria on it but did wash it before I wore it again. HUGE flare up.
Has anyone else had similar issues with the blouse and have been successful in the RAP process? I hate wearing any other piece since I'm based in a hot area.

Insurance plans
I was seeking some advice on what insurance plan to get with United. I use to have a hmo with Trader Joe’s (bcbs California). I didn’t need a referral, $25 copay for pcp, $35 copay for specialist. I primarily visit the dermatologist and endocrinologist. I did have a care plan with Zepbound, so ensuring I’m able to get in with a specialist without referrals is my priority. I would also be the only one insured since I’m alone.
I was thinking of getting the United informed choice ppo. If anyone has some insight. I would greatly appreciate it.
