Looking for a kind local to help us get tickets for Lincoln Red Imps vs Hajduk Split!

Hey everyone!

A few friends and I are travelling from Croatia to Gibraltar to watch the Lincoln Red Imps vs Hajduk Split match on November 5th.

Unfortunately, we've found out that tickets can only be purchased by British or Gibraltar residents, so we're in a bit of a tricky situation.

We're hoping there's a kind soul here who'd be willing to help us buy the tickets. Of course, we'd cover the full ticket price and happily pay you something extra for your time and trouble! 🍻

If anyone is willing to help, please drop me a DM and we can figure something out.

Thanks a lot in advance! Looking forward to visiting Gibraltar!

Question Day trip from Spain to Gibraltar with a single-entry Schengen visa?

Hi everyone! My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Spain and would like to visit Gibraltar for a day, crossing the land border and returning to Spain the same day.

She is a non-EU citizen and will have a single-entry Schengen tourist visa issued by Spain. Her visa and permitted stay would still be valid throughout the trip.

With the recent changes to the border arrangements, is this possible without using up her single entry or causing problems when returning to Spain?

Has anyone actually done this recently with a single-entry visa, or received confirmation from the border authorities?

Thanks!

Why are your urinals installed so high?

I visited last week and every place I availed myself of the facilities, they were installed about two inches away from being unusable. Are you trying to keep Irish people away? What's going on?

Question PGCE at Uni of Gibraltar vs Scotland? Questions on living costs & Europa Suites

Hey everyone!

I’m currently weighing my options for a PGCE starting next year and it’s down to two choices: Scotland or the University of Gibraltar.

I’d love to get some honest insights from locals, Uni sample/current students, or anyone who has done the PGCE here.

A few specific questions I have:

  1. PGCE / Uni Experience: How is the PGCE program structured in terms of local school placements and support? How does student life feel overall at UniGib?
  2. Europa Suites: I’m looking at staying at Europa Suites right by the Europa Point campus. For those who have lived there, how is it? Is it easy enough to get into town/grocery shop using the local buses?
  3. Cost of Living: I know Gibraltar is generally on the higher end cost-wise. How bad is day-to-day spending (groceries, eating out, general transport) in reality for a student? Do most students cross into La Línea for cheaper shopping, or is that more hassle than it’s worth with border queues?

Any insights, pros/cons, or general advice on living in Gib as a student would be massively appreciated! Thanks!

Question Questions on entering Gibraltar by plane

Question for people who travel to/from Gib regularly

I'm planning a cheapish trip for the eclipse next year in August 2027 and hotels are just insane prices so not doable. If I fly into Gib airport, what sort of questions would I get asked? Specifically do they ask for proof of where you're planning to stay? Hoping I can fly in on the 1st Aug, sleep outside somewhere, then fly home after the eclipse on the 2nd Aug.

Looking for a local to buy tickets for the Lincoln Red Imps match

I've already booked my flights and hotel for the Hajduk Split game on November 5th, but I just saw that tickets for the home stand can only be bought at the box office with a local ID.

Since away tickets are basically impossible to get for regular fans, is there any local who could help me out and buy tickets for me and my friends?

I will send the money for the ticket and treat you for your help.

Thanks!

Local needed to help get Lincoln Red Imps tickets (Surprise for my dad!)

Hi everyone! Are there any locals here who could help me get football tickets? They're restricted to locals, but I really want to surprise my dad with this gift—it would mean the world to him. I’m happy to compensate you well for your help!

Help Needed Tickets for football game

Hi, a friend and I are currently in Portugal and would like to watch a UECL match; the official website states that only locals can buy tickets for the home stand. Is there any chance someone could get us two tickets? We would pay you.

Question Entry to the rock before 9:30am

Hi folks,

I'll be visiting in late October, and I was wondering if arriving before 9:30am was still viable in terms of entering the nature reserve for free? My friends and I are hoping to catch some morning views at the top and weren't sure if we would be barred from the gates if an attendant isn't around.

Thank you very much in advance!

Anyone able to use the prediction market platform in Gibraltar? Able to sign up and bet on sports?

It seems Gibraltar isn't on a list of restricted jurisdictions but would appreciate confirmation of a local user.

Question Adult Nurse who is considering a move to Gibraltar

Hi, I would love to consider moving to Gibraltar (UK nursing student at the moment)

Any current nurses who have made the move?

I can get an EU passport as well but I know it is a British territory.

Apparently the boarder crossing is easier so getting to shift seems more durable.

Any nurses who've made the move for any advice.

What kinda departments or experiences are more desirable?

From what I get online I've heard it's the sort of place where having local connections really help with recruitment.

Thanks for checking out my post.

AI MARKETING EPIDEMIC IN GIB

I have been seeing so many AI marketing in flyers, posters, and even video ads in today's Gibraltar's business industry. Personally, I become more reluctant to purchase when I see AI generated ads, sometimes simply because they look tacky and the supposed intention to attract customers becomes an afterthought. No se, it seems lazy, and although AI could surely boost creative prospects/make them easier to achieve, it just doesn't seem like a very effective marketing tool for me as a customer once done without much thought. Let me know what you guys thinkkk.

Whats the craic with flying alcohol out of Gibraltar?

Found a drink thats a pain in the backside to get in the UK, and I want to pick up a bottle. Issue is that its 1L, and afaik Gibraltar haven't got the same fancy scanners that the bigger UK airports have that have allowances for 2L.

And all I can think about is that goddamn club sandwich from The Rock Hotel.

Has anyone had it? It’s the best I’ve ever had. I’ve been dreaming about it. Can someone take a picture for me?

Tell me about your experience with this sandwich and please agree that it’s the best sandwich ever.

Passport not required to enter Gibraltar when entering via land crossing

I haven’t see this posted much online and reddit answers seems to return outdated information so figured it be worth mentioning.

Gibraltar does not have immigration control anymore at the land crossing between Spain and Gibraltar anymore. This means if you don’t have your passport (or left it in the hotel like us), you can still visit Gibraltar. (For US Citizens)
