Staying at this hotel?

Post image
• Upvotes

Im planning a trip next year. Will be in GZ 4 days. This will be my first time visiting and not staying at the family house.

Our plan so far is to visit shamian island, one link and women's clothes shopping(one day shopping only!), Yuexiu park(or something similar), we already went to baiyun last time. For shopping, I want to go to small local stores/brands, not international brands. Possible over to the wedding street for a qipao or maybe a hanfu.

Is this location convenient? My family home is near Haizhu square and this hotel looks like a quick didi over there.

Im looking at this hotel because im planning to get a credit card and use the points.

The other option is to get the marriot card and stay in tianhe. But I think this hotel is closer to more of the things we plan on doing.

Anyone in Guangzhou looking for a buddy? Let’s Meet in Person

Hey everyone! Since it’s Canton Fair season, I thought it would be a good chance to meet people from different parts of the world and learn about their cultures, experiences, and perspectives.

I know meeting someone online can feel a little risky at first, and trust takes time to build. I’m not a tour guide, but I’d be happy to show you around Guangzhou in my spare time, I’m doing this because I genuinely enjoy meeting people, with no hidden agenda and nothing expected in return. I spend most of my weekdays at work, so I’d also love to meet people outside my usual work circle and hopefully make some genuine friends along the way.

A little about me: (28M) I grew up in Guangzhou and have spent most of my life here. I’m currently working in corporate finance, and I’d love to meet people outside my usual work circle and hear different stories about life around the world.

If you’re interested, feel free to DM me! I’d be happy to share my WeChat so we can communicate more easily and make plans to meet up.

Any downsides to living in Gaode Gongguan (高德公馆)?

I’m considering renting an apartment there, but the rooms I’ve seen look pretty old, and were smelly… which don’t really match the price I guess.

Does anyone have experience living there? I’m curious about the soundproofing, building maintenance, and potential water leakage issues.

Would you recommend it? Thanks

Will a local show me the Guanzhou landmarks?

Anyone free to show this friendly London based Italian gay guy visiting 1st-4th of November? :)

Very keen to be given a historic tour, taken to some restaurants where I would be probably refused service if I was on my own as incapable of ordering and why not going out out!

Qipao in Guangzhou

Evening all,

I’ll be visiting Guangzhou in two days time for a few days. My wife would love a Qipao and we’ve seen a few shops online, but we want something good quality, not crazy prices and not a tourist trap.

Any suggestions?? Considering Guangzhou is famous for its clothing industry I don’t it will be too hard…..

We are staying in the Liwan area, not far from Sun Yat Sen memorial

Advice for mid December weather and kids friendly activities/eats

Google says tDecember in Guangzhou features cool, dry, and comfortable weather, with average temperatures ranging from a high of 21°C (70°F) to a low of 11°C

So is it ok if I just get a warm jacket will do? Don’t really need long johns etc ?

Also will be travelling with kids, is it advisable to bring a stroller ? Thanks !

Visiting Guangzhou and Want to Try a Local Spa?

Visiting Guangzhou and Want to Try a Local Spa?

If you're visiting Guangzhou, trying a local spa or massage can be a nice way to relax. But figuring out which treatment to choose, understanding a Chinese menu, or making a booking can be a little confusing when you don't speak Chinese.

I'm building VitaCity to help visitors navigate these little challenges.

If you'd like to try a spa in Guangzhou, I can personally help you:

  • Find places that fit your budget and preferences
  • Understand the treatment options and prices
  • Translate your questions and communicate with the spa
  • Check availability and help arrange a booking

You can message me on WhatsApp or WeChat. I'll do my best to help you figure things out, all online.

There's no need to prepay VitaCity. You choose the spa and pay the provider directly. If there's any service fee from me, I'll explain it beforehand. Some spas may have their own deposit requirements.

I'm still testing this service and would also love to hear what visitors find difficult when exploring local services in Guangzhou.

Feel free to send me a message if you need a hand!

— VitaCity, your local spa concierge in Guangzhou
