They get so much attention wherever we go, no wonder they think they’re royalty 😂

It’s late. I’m exhausted, in pain, and beginning to feel the effects of my med. But Clare is here, having jumped into bed without request or command sleeping in her “I feel safe” position and I’m in heaven.
Seven weeks ago, when I rescued her from a LA City shelter, she would cower if I reached too quickly for her, run if I moved too quickly towards her. But now she sleeps of her own will in my bed, something I thought impossible just yesterday. There are months to go yet, but I’m beginning to see the fine, beautiful crazy husky she is meant to be.
To my previous companions, waiting at the bridge, thank you now for the wisdom you gave me on how to be a better companion to dear, sweet Clare.

Stella (black and white), Charlotte (brown Husky mix) LOVE Minnesota snow. Winter is coming, and our girls will surely be out to play at the first snowflakes. Playing in the snow is also a great way for them to get their energy out.

She was 15, almost 16, by all accounts she lived a long happy life. When we got up that morning everything was normal, but shortly after dinner that night she started dry heaving like she had to throw up but not producing anything and her stomach started swelling. I rushed her to the emergency vet. Her stomach had flipped and she had developed GDV. We ended up having to put her to sleep. The vet brought her into the exam room so I could say goodbye and she laid on my lap for comfort which is where she stayed as the vet administered the meds. She passed in my arms. I'm 38, she's been my constant companion for practically my entire adult life. The apartment feels so cold and empty without her. I keep expecting her to be following me around the kitchen, or at my feet when I'm watching something. I keep reaching out to pet her without thinking about it. I feel like I've lost a part of myself. Every time I leave the apartment I dread having to return and open that door to have her not be there. I just feel so lost.
Yuli, thank you for all the light you brought to my life. If love could've saved you you would've lived forever.

This is Kodi, I’ve posted him before but we adopted him almost a year and a half ago and I truly love him more and more everyday. I am actually obsessed with this boy 😂
I have never had a husky before, I grew up with labs, so VERY different. Initially I was nervous when we were adopting him because people who don’t own them only have bad stories or negative things to say about the breed. And huskies just have a bad rap in general unfortunately. But he truly is so calm and LOVES people so much. People are always very surprised when he just sits on their feet and looks up at them for pets and when I tell them he doesn’t do a husky howl (unless it’s for dinner). And trust me we have tried to get him to howl!
We are still learning him of course but I absolutely love that they all have their own personalities. Im sure a lot of people here can agree but I think that the breed is so misunderstood and I wish people would understand that you really do have to treat them like they are their own person, they need the right stimulants, a safe environment and patience. They are supposed to be a member of your family!
Anyways, I want to adopt every single husky that I see online now because they all deserve love and a happy home to be themselves, is that normal ?? 😅

Me and my husky mix go on our walks after I get home from work… this one was different. We have a pack of coyotes that like to hang out in our area and looks like tonight was one of their vocal nights again… yeah it looks like a horror movie, with the *abnormally* bright full moon, the single street light- I did not like it. I ran home as fast as I could even though he was interested in who was howling. What would you do if you heard this?

Please meet Echo. Two weeks ago we lost our best friend Nakiri. He is the lighter colored dog in the second picture. He was my first best friend after I got divorced so we took the loss very hard.
I’ve only had 24 hours since adoption but Echo will be a great member of our little Wolfpack. He is already learning leash commands despite having no training. We are off to a great start!

All husky/mix owners had to see this posture and face at some point… For my husky mix- this means “aight, ima run round the yard as fast as I can running into things along the way!” And it happens every single time. He even does this in the house sometimes when I get home from work (I am a vet tech in training so work in a vet, he smells all the dogs I am around all day) and he slides around corners like he is on ice and looks like he is in a cartoon while doing it.

My boy started scratching a few areas of his body obsessively last week. I found an area on his hind leg that was a little raw and looked like there were bites. He had just been to the kennel, so I assumed maybe he got flea bites there. I treated that area. Then, I found what appeared to be a hot spot forming near his tail. We have had a family member in the hospital, thought it could be anxiety. Treated that. A couple days later I was examining another spot that he was scratching, and I found a couple grass seeds embedded super deep in his undercoat. They were so close to the skin that no comb was gonna get them. Since then I have been doing deep scratches through quadrants of his body and have pulled SO MANY GRASS SEEDS OUT. It never occurred to me that those fountain grasses could burrow so deep into the coat so quickly. I believe this was the culprit, so I dug it out and threw it in the garbage. This is a public service announcement.

She still has so much energy even though she's an elder. I love her so much. I ended up running her home and my mom walked 😆 my mild asthma didn't like it much, but Misty was happy lmao

Hey everyone just want show everyone I just got my 4 year old husky yesterday. My family had dogs for all my life. And I've done some research but is there anything else I should know that not many talk about?
