Careers What do Indian recruiters look for in a resume/CV?
Hello everyone,
In order to complete his engineering degree, a friend of mine needs to gain professional experience in another country. His current company has a branch in India, so he would like to apply for a placement there to complete his training
He was born in India but has spent most of his life in Europe, so he’s not really familiar with the local job application customs. From what he has heard, resumes in India tend to be linear, with a simple layout, no photos, and little use of colour, unlike resumes commonly seen in western countries. But I’d rather ask locals who are truely familiar with the indian job market to make sure he doesn’t unintentionally make any cultural faux pas and rubs the recruters the wrong way unknowingly
He speaks both the local language and english fluently, and it's for a compagny in the tech/aerospace field
Are there any specific Indian resume conventions or cultural expectations he should be aware of? For example, what informations should he highlight, what format is generally preferred, and are there any common mistakes applicants should avoid?
Thank you for taking the time to read and for any of your advices!
