🚨 URGENT: Major Hacking Wave in Japan & Scam Warning for Foreign Residents!
To foreign residents living in Japan,
Many major Japanese corporations have recently been hit by hacks, resulting in stolen personal information. The entire country is currently in a state of panic.
While the vulnerability of Japanese corporate security has been pointed out for some time, this feels like the first time we've seen such a large-scale hacking incident.
As a secondary risk, amidst the panic caused by these hacks, scammers are likely to take advantage of the situation.
For example, there is a very high possibility that you might receive a sudden email pretending to be from a hacked company, saying something like, "We are offering compensation money, so please access this URL to complete the procedure."
While foreigners who have lived in Japan for decades should be fine, I am posting this out of concern for those who have recently arrived or just started registering on Japanese websites. If they encounter unfamiliar Japanese, they might use AI to translate and take action, putting them at risk of being scammed.
Please be truly careful!!
