CrossWatch for Kodi: everyone in the household keeps their own watch history
One Kodi, one profile, a whole household: Kodi can't tell who pressed play, so everyone's watches end up in one Trakt history.
CrossWatch for Kodi fixes that. It's a service add-on that reports what plays to your own CrossWatch, a free, self-hosted app that syncs watch history, ratings and progress between Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Trakt, Simkl and more, with a profile per person. The add-on works out who watched, so each person's history stays their own.
How it knows who watched (first match wins):
- A smart playlist per person: "Ben's shows" means Ben watched it
- The active Kodi profile, if you use one per person
- Otherwise it asks once when playback stops (never at the start), and remembers the answer per show
Also:
- Optional rating after an episode or film, passed on to the services that take ratings
- Pairs with CrossWatch through an address and a one-time code: no passwords, and Kodi's web server isn't needed
- Finished watches are kept for up to 7 days if CrossWatch is unreachable, then sent
Install: Add-ons > Install from repository > Kodi Add-on repository > Services > CrossWatch for Kodi. Works on Kodi 21 (Omega) and 22 (Piers). It needs CrossWatch v0.13.3 or later.
