Kurdistan I do not believe Kurds should be Muslim

This might be controversial, but I feel it is important to talk about.

I don’t believe Kurds should be Muslim, not once has our faith been in our favor yet our occupiers love to scream out ”Muslim brotherhood” when it suits them. We get killed in our own land by Muslims, occupied by Muslims, silenced by Muslims, we have no right to determination by Muslims. All Islam has done for us is make us blend with Arab traditions and norms. We claim to be tolerant but I see more and more of our women covering up and our men being sexist and misogynistic. What happened to jin, jiyan, azadi? This does not even exist in Islam, this is the Kurdish way. We are tolerant, we do not fall for islamism and it’s radical propaganda. Unfortunately because of Islam and corruption, there’s been an influx of Arabs in KRG, and now we’re building the worlds largest mosque, for WHOM? Kurdish people can barely get jobs, people flee Kurdistan for a better life, kids are begging on the streets, animals starving, no adequate infrastructure in many parts of Kurdistan, and still no unity between our people. Yet, we’re concerned with Islam, Arabism, Wahhabism, retardation. I’ve seen so many Kurdish women, dressing like Arabs and speaking Arabic saying that Kurds should not live like westerners because that makes them kafir. What the hell is this mindset? This is why we will never evolve, we are STUCK in this mindset and we continue to go backwards, we will never be united as long as Islam and arabization has us wrapped around their finger.

Kurdistan Spent 9 months building a dating app for Kurds because one didn't exist

Post image
103 Upvotes

As the title suggests, I'm Kurdish and I have spent the last 9 months building the first dating app for the Kurdish community. It's called Dilniya. I am the only person who worked on this, every single day and night for that entire period. With many hardships and trials and tribulations getting accepted into the iOS App Store, I have finally brought it to completion.

My motivation is simple. Kurds currently lack the depth and range for finding a soulmate that many other communities take for granted. Increasingly, finding a partner online is just part of life, so what better way to bring that to life than someone who truly understands our culture and values? Traditionally, meeting through close friends and family meant that the vast array of Kurdish sub-communities like Soranis, Kurmanjis and others never had a way to meet each other. But now there is a strong mechanism to do exactly that.

Dilniya lets you filter by dialect, faith and age. You can prove your Kurdish roots by answering heritage questions before messaging someone. There is a culture spark feature that gives you a random Kurdish question to break the ice. Kurdish events are listed worldwide too so you can meet people in person, and there will be many more gatherings organised through Dilniya as we grow.

It supports Kurmanji and English right now and the Android version is coming soon.

If something doesn't work or you have a suggestion, message me directly and I will fix it asap. I have many plans already to increase the experience to the most premium levels in the near future.

It's free. Give it a try.

Why “Free Palestine!” and Not Also “Free Kurdistan!”?

International law treats Palestinians as a population under foreign occupation. The Kurds, however, are classified as “national minorities”

Kurdistan Stop raising apo and pkk flags

We cannot do this anymore. I understand, apo did this, pkk did this but it IS in the list of terrorists, even if its cuz of turkey I KNOW. But because it is, we have to stop raising it so Turkey doesn't have more reasons to bombard us and hate us. Raise the kurdistan flag, besides, PKK cant do anything now, its done for. YPG and YPJ id also advise to stop, but is say its not as bad. Raise kurdish flags only so we can actually get support from countries without any pretext that we raise flags that are labeled as terrorist (EVEN THOUGH WE DONT THINK SO.) just stop bro

Kurdistan Why did I, as a Kurd, left Islam?

I am a Kurdish woman from Southern Kurdistan (Bashur/Sulaymaniyah) who left Islam more than thirteen years ago. I left Islam at the age of twelve because Kurdish Islamists and the Muslims of Syria, Turkey, Iraq, and Iran made me hate Islam. Most Kurdish political Islamists are anti-Kurdish, traitors, and agents of the enemy, and they do not care about the Kurdish cause. They hate the Kurdish language and culture, and all they do is cry over Gaza and Palestine and worship their Arab and Turkish masters. Perhaps if Kurdish Islamists had been more nationalistic and served the Kurdish cause more, and if Arabs, Turks, and Iranian Muslims had treated Kurds humanely and had not oppressed, committed genocide, or ethnic cleansing against Kurds in the name of Islam and Allah, I would not have left Islam. As you all know, Kurds are tenth-class Muslims. We are worthless to Arabs, Turks, and Iranians. They despise us, don't consider us Muslims or even human beings, and deny our right to exist.

I noticed that most Muslims including Arabs, Turks, Iranians, Pakistanis, Indian Muslims, Chechens, Bosnians, Albanians, Uyghurs, Central Asians, Bangladeshis, Kashmiris and Circassians, have a strange hostility and hatred towards the Kurds. I have never understood why, except for the Amazighs and Baluchis, who are oppressed people just like the Kurds and understand our pain and struggle.

Islam and Muslims hate Kurds and Kurdistan. Therefore, I believe that all Kurds should abandon Islam. Frankly, Islam is a political game invented by the Arabs and developed by the Turks and Iranians for their own national and political interests. Unfortunately, the Kurds are victims of this political game...

They are adept at playing this game, and they are masters at it, but we Kurds are not. The best solution is to quit this game and find another one that we can master and win...

Kurdistan I built an interactive atlas of Kurdistan. What should I correct first?

After several months of work, the atlas now includes:

  • 36,438 villages and cities
  • 81 heritage sites
  • 79 natural landmarks
  • 72 rivers
  • 57 city guides
  • 27 mountain ranges
  • 24 wildlife profiles
  • 21 lakes

It also includes map layers for religion, historical Kurdistan, the proposed Sèvres borders, and more.

What should I correct, improve, or include next?

Kurdistan There are 57 Muslim states and 22 Arab states, but only when we demand a Kurdish state does it become blasphemy and a sin. They don't believe in Islam, they just use it for their benefit. A self-proclaimed atheist is more Muslim than them.

Kurdistan Its okay when Turkey cuts trees in Kurdish areas, but its a problem when Israel does it in southern Syria

Post image
77 Upvotes

They said absolutely nothing when Turkey cut trees in Kurdish areas in "Syrian sovereign territory", as a matter of fact many even supported such actions. Why is it a problem now that Israel is doing it? How is it any different from what Turkey did? Its almost a relief that Israel is there to expose regional hypocrisy.

Newroz is the Kurdish celebration of Nowruz; the arrival of spring and new year in Kurdish culture. The lighting of the fires at the beginning of the evening of March 20 is the main symbol of Newroz among the Kurds.

In Kurdish legend, the holiday celebrates the deliverance of the Kurds from a tyrant, and it is seen as another way of demonstrating support for the Kurdish cause. The celebration coincides with the March equinox which usually falls on 21 March and is usually held between 18 and 24 March. The festival has an important place in terms of Kurdish identity for the majority of Kurds. Though celebrations vary, people generally gather together to welcome the coming of spring; they wear traditional coloured Kurdish clothes, dance together, light fires to dance around and jump over the bonfire, play Kurdish games.

The word Newroz is a combination of the Kurdish words نوێ (naw, meaning 'new') and ڕۆژ (roz, 'day').

Kurdistan It’s official, Israel is planning to support the Kurds in Rojhelat. Having intelligence ties to the Rojhelat coalition.

Today, it has been confirmed that Nethanyahu, together with Trump will support the Kurds in Iran.

President Trump has been on the phone with Barzani and Talabani talking about the next possible steps, while no further details have been published yet.

Premier Netanyahu have apparently been lobbying the Kurds for months.

I understand that there will be comments comparing this to Rojava, but what other chance do we got?

Yesterday I went to newroz in Frankfurt thinking it’ll be like the one in cologne every Kurd being United No Matter the ideology,

but unfortunately Bakurês diaspora ruined it, everyone was speaking Turkish on stage and in crowds bakurê were only speaking Turkish

they started fighting başuris with Ala rengîn,KDP Flags demanding they lower it because it’s Jash flag they attacked the kurds with Israeli flags, multiple fights broke out

This is the side of apocism I hate it’s super toxic claiming they’re nationalist Kurds while can’t even preserve your own language in diaspora

Hopefully tirkî would be banned next time I don’t want to here my enemies language in my festival.

Kurdistan Time to embrace Nationalism

It has been far too long that us Kurds have not had a nation to call our own, or to be able to be represented by leaders that genuinely care and support an independant Kurdistan. As long as Kurdistan does not exist the wellbeing of Kurds will always be in a decline or a stalemate.

There are many statistics of the living conditions of Kurds you can find. Turkey is the prime example of this poor lifestyle the Kurds have had to endure. In many areas they have to somehow 'steal' electricity in order to have access to basic needs. This is one example of many.

Without an independant Kurdistan the valuable resources in our lands will be plundered by our occupiers and we will be left to bleed dry. Our culture and identity is going to start dying at an alarming rate with the massive changes in demographic of Rojava and Bashur. Many areas in these two places of Kurdistan have already been largely Arabized. Before Saddam there were no Arabs at all in Kirkuk and now it is 50% Arab. There are also an alarming amount of Arabs from Arab Iraq migrating to Bashur in large numbers for a better life.

This is not right and is incredibly dangerous. Within a matter of years the Arabs will infiltrate and rise up against us from within our very own lands. It will make it much easier for Kurdish Autonomy to be wiped out completely, which would in turn mark the beginning of Kurdish extinction. It only takes one look at history to recognise this pattern in Arab infiltration and how they have been able to destroy societies from within.

The recent changes in the Middle-East are the clearest and most obvious signs of what intentions are to come from our enemies. The autonomy of Rojava has now crumbled and is no more. And with the withdrawal of the coalition, Bashur is most certainly next.

We must embrace a significant change in ideology. No more should we fall for and tolerate the lies of the Barzani and Talabani tribes, and no more should we feed into the weak left wing ideology of the PKK and YPG. It is time for us to embrace the strength of our young men which is what our occupiers fear the most.

To my beloved Kurdish people I know that we have suffered so much, but it will only get worse. To be able to oppose this suffering and make something of it for our own benefit we must embrace it. It is time we recognise the vast differences in our heritage and culture to that of our occupiers who have stolen so much from us. It is time to stop trying to create some "brotherhood" with the very people that would do anything to see us gone. They celebrate our deaths and downfalls, this is the mentality of the majority of our enemies. To understand what we are truly up against we must view our enemies as the opinions and ideologies represented by the majortiy, and not try and adopt this weak mindest of, "but some of them are good and don't hate us," when most of them truly despise us.

Our enemies are afraid of us because we have the capabilities to become a formidable foe with our large and growing population and access to resources. No more should we adopt this victimising, empathetic mentality. We need to be ruthless for our own preservation. The first step is to call out the twisted mentality of anti-nationalist Kurds who may or may not know that they are benefiting our occupiers. The strongest revolutions in history came from the shared struggle of a people who shared the same identity and ideology. Our case is no different. We need to reject this separatism in ideology amongst us and hold the same or at least similar view if we want to survive.

Embrace Nationalism
