My Romanian point lace tarot mat is finally done!
This is my first big Romanian point lace project (I had made a version of the pentacle first as a test), and really my first big needle lace project of any kind!
I used size 10 crochet cotton (KnitPicks curio #10, which appears to be discontinued) and a 1.25mm crochet hook. The pattern is self-drafted. I got all my instructions for the cords and stitches from three sources: Thread Head blog, the Royal School of Needlework's stitch bank, and the Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Needlework (I have a physical copy, but this archive link is useful).
Don't be fooled by the cards in the second picture - they're really oversized, the mat is quite large. It measures about 9.5" x 17.5".
I was really happy with both the process and the outcome for this project, so I'm planning a design for a large table runner now.
