I'm looking to get more into whiskey, but money tight as it is don't have much to spend, and even less to waste! I'm seeing lots of options in the <$40 range and the reviews for most are pretty similar...things like Gibson's, Wiser's, Forty Creek, Crown Royal, (not to mention the [blended] Scotch and Irish options] all seem comparable to my naive self, but I'm curious if anyone's gone through them all to compare, and if there are any clear winners and/or losers (or even comparisons of flavor profiles) I would really appreciate knowing.

If only they had 50ml bottles of everything! ETA: thinking for cocktails, not a neat drinker and even an old fashioned is rare. More like Manhattan, whiskey sour, etc.

Does anyone know when this whisky gets ordered at the lcbo? I only saw them once and they sell quickly. Is there a way to get a special order if I want two bottles of each? A tale of Tokyo, a tale of cake, a tale of ice cream, and a tale of spices.

To customers, do you prefer us to pack your reusable bag or do it yourself?

I don't touch peoples reusable bags unless they ask, and if their bags are really dirty or nasty i will tell them i cannot touch their personal bags but i can put it in a paper bag for them. Apparently thats not acceptable to some customers.

It seems there are no premixed Manhattans available anywhere. Dillon's, Wiser's, H2 are all on the LCBO website but are not available online or in store anywhere.

Seems odd right? Why can't I buy direct from the supplier if the LCBO doesn't list any?

Does anyone know why the Jaw Drop brand Squirting Oranges has gotten delisted? No one has been able to get a clear answer as to why and it was a very popular seller at some stores locally. I loved the drink!

Does anyone know how often LCBO reviews stale listings not returning for the foreseeable future for removal from their website and app?

LCBO#: 506741 is for Kronenbourg Blanc 500 mL brewed in Alsace France. However for the past few years Carlsberg has brewed their brands in Canada after acquiring Waterloo Brewing. There are separate listings for the brewed in Canada versions so it’s pretty unlikely the French product will return.

Another example is filtering on the LCBO app by beers from Germany shows 46 products. However clicking on some of the individual products shows no availability online or any location in Ontario. For some it could have been like that for a long time but there’s no way of knowing.

I was told by a friend that LCBO does not hire full time employees anymore, except managers. If this is true, I find it despicable that a Crown company that is profitable will only hire less than full time positions. How in the world did the union allow this?

The website doesn’t show any locations but have it, but i know sometimes it can be in random places even when it isnt listed has anyone see a bottle, i wish i knew it was only limited.

I’ve recently started to wonder how much the storage of wine at LCBO affects its quality. At many of my local LCBOs many of the most light-susceptible wines (ie: roses stored in clear glass) sit in the floor to ceiling windows getting slammed with sunlight all day long.

Has anyone else noticed this and shared surprise that this is the chosen storage method? Seems like it’s bound to cause some negative effects!

I plan my purchases using the app, going to the store to grab them. Boom, $7 price difference on a tequila…. Store associate insisted they can only sell it for the price scanned.

I recently tried out these knew Canadian Buzzballz, FBOMBZ. The 15% Cranberry flavour is widely available at LCBOs near me. The company behind FBOMBZ, United Craft, claim that their other 7% flavours have been sent out to various grocery chains and convenience stores, but im having a really hard time finding them. Has anyone come across them in the GTA, or any word on when they'll be attainable?

I wake up to terrible news… i believe the captain morgan cocktail pack is being discontinued… clearances at every lcbo… i really hope it’s not gone for good. i don’t drink much and fell in love with it. i have no idea what else to try like it :(

Why is home delivery so expensive? I can get an order from a liquor store in Alberta delivered for a lower cost, cheaper shipping and faster delivery. Even having a specific item delivered to a store for pick up takes weeks.

Why do Ontarians get the short end of the stick?

Per the app, this is not available to be shipped to my store, however there is finally stock in GTA. One store in Toronto has over 1200 bottles of this impossible to find liquor (in Ontario).

Anyone at the LCBO have some insight into why this is? I feel like normally I can order any product that exists somewhere. Is the app wrong?
