Mod Update Antisemitism, Racism, and Bigotry will not be tolerated
What the title says. I'm beyond exhausted hoping that some of y'all will pull your head out of your asses and live up to the values necessary to be a passable human being. Since this has been a repeated failure, we will move to a zero-tolerance model going forward:
- Antisemitism will result in a 28 day suspension of your account from this subreddit, followed by a permanent ban for any infraction afterwards.
- Racism will result in a 28 day suspension of your account from this subreddit, followed by a permanent ban for any infraction afterwards.
- Bigotry (this definitely includes transphobia) will result in a 28 day suspension of your account from this subreddit, followed by a permanent ban for any infraction afterwards.
- Genocide denial will result in a 28 day suspension of your account from this subreddit, followed by a permanent ban for any infraction afterwards.
If you have a doubt of whether or not something is going to run a-foul of these zero tolerance boundaries, don't fucking post it. No, I'm not going to rules lawyer technicalities. The time for you taking a nuanced approach is passed. No, I'm not going to accept ignorance as an excuse. It is 2026, go get educated on how to not be a piece of shit.
This is a warning to all users - I don't give a fuck how well you discuss theory, the praxis you claim to have accomplished, none of it. If you are in this community, you will be a decent fucking human being. If you can't step over that incredibly low bar, then I don't want you here so fuck off.
ADDENDUM: As of 9.15 PM Eastern, any further comments defending this content as not being antisemitic will be banned permanently. I've explained repeatedly the rationale behind this and I'm done giving the benefit of the doubt that users can hear a new expectation and engage with it responsibly. If you cannot act like decent people, then this subreddit doesn't need you.
For everyone else who asked clarification and/or generally acted like a human being, thank you.
EDIT: Locking this to catch up on bans.

Mod Update r/leftist and Veganism
This has been a long time coming and every opportunity was extended to allow the topic to be allowed on r/leftist, but those opportunities have come to an end. As per the newest addition to the sub's rules:
# 7. Prohibited Content
Prohibited Content includes permanent and/or temporary policies aimed at addressing specific events or issues which may affect the community. Currently, the following items are considered prohibited content:
* Veganism - Permanent: As veganism is not inherently a leftist topic, posts centered on veganism rather than leftism are are banned. Any posts or comments referencing veganism must be in relation to anti-capitalism. Proselytizing about veganism is forbidden.
There has yet to be a single post about veganism on this subreddit that has been rooted in anti-capitalism that has not devolved into an advertisement of veganism. There are many subreddits about veganism, including some from a leftist perspective. Please utilize those subreddits in the future - posts proselytizing for veganism will be marked "off-topic" and removed. Repeated violations will result in actions including suspension and up to permanent ban.
As this has been an issue before, we will be monitoring activity surrounding this topic and any hint of brigading will be reported.

Debate Help People are trying to silence a good revolution
I'm in Europe, and if you live here too, you've probably noticed a major shift in the political landscape. Just look at recent events: in Serbia, a coalition led by the national student body pulled off a surprise victory in the elections. Meanwhile, from France to Albania, massive protests are erupting everywhere against right-wing governments that cater exclusively to the wealthy. On top of that, the left-wing party Die Linke just won in Berlin, securing the best result in its recent history.
Most of this incredible momentum is driven by grassroots demonstrations. People are finally hitting the streets to make their voices heard. The problem is the mainstream media, which constantly tries to spin the narrative by framing the protests as "violent left-wing riots" to discredit the movement. But we need to move past the traditional left vs. right divide. I don't think everyone who is angry necessarily identifies with the left. A lot of working-class right-wing voters are realizing that the promises they were made only apply to the rich. They are waking up to the fact that they've been lied to.
People are protesting for all kinds of reasons—from stagnant wages to war, and from empty supermarket shelves to skyrocketing gas prices. Honestly, this disruption is exactly what we need. If you look at history, every successful peaceful movement eventually had to push back harder to get results. Do people really think massive corporations like LV or Nike won't recover from having one or two storefronts damaged? They make billions exploiting child labor, yet we've reached a point where poor people are actively feeling sorry for the rich.
And let’s be honest: we are poor. According to European statistics, the official poverty line dictates whether you qualify for government assistance. With the skyrocketing cost of living, the threshold stands at around €13,000 a year for a single individual and roughly €22,000 for a family of three. This means that if you are making €1,000 a month, you are officially living in poverty. It’s time to stop the infighting among the working class. We need to stop fighting each other and focus our anger on the real enemy: the rich.

South American Politics Explaining the election results and why there was no electoral fraud, as a Brazilian.
In the first round of our election, Flávio Bolsonaro was ahead of Lula. But in the second round, Lula won.
When Brazilians saw Flávio in first place, we decided to take action. Many people who had not voted before went to vote. Brazilians living in other countries travelled to Brazil for the second round. People travelled from different cities and states to vote. Even the older people, who are not required to vote, went to the polls despite having difficulty walking. We took to the streets, protested, and encouraged people to change their votes.
Voting hours were extended because BUS SERVICES WERE STOPPED, stopping people from getting to the polls and voting.Pablo Souza, Salvador's Secretary of Mobility, was in FRANCE while people were facing these problems. Heavy rain also made voting difficult in some areas. Both candidates asked for more voting time.
Even with the extra time, Lula won by a large margin. He would have won anyway.
Lula was elected by the people. Many Brazilians are afraid of what could happen if the Bolsonaro family comes to power. THERE WAS NO FRAUD!
I wrote this quickly because Trump's statement made me furious. If you have any questions, leave a comment.

With the riots and revolutions breaking out day by day the time for the US is soon. Does anyone know any socialist organizations that are vanguarding in any of these movements, that us in the US can contact?

South American Politics The Whole World needs to know what is happening in Brazil today.
There is an attempt to commit election fraud by Flávio Bolsonaro and his fascist followers.
- Mayors aligned with Bolsonaro have reduced or blocked bus services in cities where Lula has more support—such as São Paulo and Salvador—making it difficult or impossible for voters to reach their polling stations. An arrest warrant has even been issued for the Secretary of Transportation in Salvador.
- Airlines have canceled flights to the Northeast—a major stronghold for Lula’s voters—without providing any explanation.
- The Electoral Court, led by a justice appointed by Bolsonaro’s father, changed polling locations at the last minute, primarily in the Northeast.
- Flávio’s supporters have taken to the streets to intimidate Lula’s voters, with reports of assaults and violence.
The Supreme Federal Court has extended voting hours by two hours, but many polling stations have already closed, and poll workers have left and Lula and the Workers' Party (PT) are calling for the arrest of the mayors involved. The country is in chaos. Many people have been—and are currently—unable to cast their votes. The election has been RIGGED. Lula achieved the greatest electoral turnaround in history, and the fascists have resorted to desperate measures to sow chaos.
SPREAD THE WORD! THE WORLD NEEDS TO KNOW!

Resources Lessons from Brazilian ellection
I'm yet vibrating with Lula's victory yesterday in Brazil, against far-right candidate Flavio Bolsonaro. But I saw and lived from inside what Brazilians have done, fighting against mainstream media, Meta's bias, campaign funds, and I feel there's some lessons that leftists over the world should pay more attention.
Sadly my english is not that good and compromises my point, but if you know someone from the media, please, pretty please, make someone write about the role of the social media in Brazilian ellections in english (or other languages), heres what I think is the most important:
Social media played a huge role in this elections. Meta was biased for Bolsonaro, but a congresman named Janones organized people in a huge whatsapp channel (more than 10 milion people) and gave clear instructions on how to pump Lula's communication on social media, on how to engaje to make news get to people, and also on how to not engage in any ways on far-right propaganda.
I am not saying the social media movement alone gave victory to Lula, Lula's policies weeks before the runoff were very important, but the social media movement played a role in making people know what Lula have done and how far-right policies would affect them.
I think people from other countries should really pay attention to this if you want to fight against far-right.
They have farm-bots and they matter a lot. Left-wing over the world need urgently learn how to deal with the algorithm bias.
