News [KCRW] Emotions flare over euthanized Atwater Village coyote

Intense drama is brewing over wildlife in Atwater Village after a coyote attacked a toddler and was euthanized. Now officials are saying they could criminally charge a neighborhood resident for feeding the animal.

We first told you about this coyote, which neighbors dubbed Wiley, back in August. After the attack, some people started pointing fingers at the mother of the toddler, even going as far as calling Child Protective Services. KCRW's Alex Cohen has been following this very L.A. story.

Local Politics icymi - you can fill out a sample ballot online and cast it in person

if you're like me and enjoy voting in person, LA/County offers a Poll Pass that makes it super easy. you enter in your information, make your selections, and it generates a QR code you can scan when you go to the voting center (which are open now for early voting).

once you scan, it fills out all your selections and then you can review it as normal. saves time at the center and is nice to make selections from the comfort of your home.

Fire People keep installing real gas lamps on new homes built in my neighborhood. I think we probably have more real gas lamps now than the gas lamp quarter in San Diego. Is this a trend throughout LA?

I usually replace them 4 times out of the year and I notice summer is by far the worst. I live in the SFV.

Discussion Metro Expresslanes Transponder Replacement

Got the email a couple weeks ago saying they're sending out replacements for old transponders, has anyone received theirs? Also would the older transponder still work in the interim?

I was going to use it this morning for my commute but it wasn't beeping so I assumed it had already been deactivated but I have yet to receive the updated transponder.

Hello, I'm an independent documentarian in Los Angeles. I'm looking to cover young USPS (postal) workers who are pursuing something creative in their free time (acting, music, visual art, fashion, etc). If you happen to be/know someone who fits in this category, please PM me for more info!

Discussion PSA: Scamming Drivers on Beverly Blvd

I was driving east on Beverly somewhere around Normandie, and a guy and his girlfriend pull up to me and the guy goes "Dude, are you ok?" and I was like yeah... And he goes "you swerved into me, you can't just do that bro, you gotta pull over."

And they were so insistent that I was confused. But then I was like, I would have felt if our cars touched. So I said no, that didn't happen, and he was still insisting and said he had my license number, but I just rolled my window up.

Anybody else had something like this happen?

If you are looking for guidance on judicial appointments and not finding much from folks on the Left about some positions, check out the recommendations from folks on the Right, because they are clear about their opinion on every single race.

Photo Sunday East LA loading zone parking

Post image

Even though this was just a warning - my understanding is that parking in a loading zone on Sundays is fair game all day. Is it not the case in ELA?

This was in front of a liquor store on City Terrace dr. where parking is scarce.

Ultimately, think it was the store that called bc I doubt any other cars parked up and down the street in loading zones got one of these.
