Questions Looking for math help online for my kids (2nd and 5th grade), where do I even start?
both my kids need math help and I'm honestly overwhelmed by the options, apps, tutoring sites, online classes, youtube channels, there's like 50 of them.
the 2nd grader is behind on basic adding and subtracting. 5th grader is ok but hates it and her grades are slipping. I work full time and i am not getting enough time for each subject, would love one thing that works for both but not sure that exists. where did you start when you were looking for help or were in a similar situation?

Where do you get math help for a 5th grader who's fallen behind on fractions?
One of my daughter is 10, 5th grade, and fractions have just become a wall she can do the steps when I'm sitting right next to her with a little help but on her own she mixes up when to find a common denominator and when to multiply straight across, in the last quiz she got 58.
we've tried khan academy videos and a couple worksheet sites. she watches, nods, and an hour later can't do the homework. i have done her homework a few times and when and honestly I don't think I explain it in newer ways and she is not understanding it when her teacher does too.
education is already getting very expensive considering we have 4 kids and we want to mindfully spend hence what free math help actually worked for your kid, and when did you decide you needed an actual person? how long before things got better?

Questions Any fun ways to practice multiplication facts without using worksheets?
We're trying to practice multiplication facts, but sitting down and repeatedly doing them gets boring very quickly.
What have you found that keeps kids interested while still giving them enough practice?

PENTOMINOSA
The 8Γ8 grid below has a 2Γ2 hole in the center, leaving 60 cells to fill. Your task is to tile the board with the 12 pentominoes (F, I, L, P, N, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z), using each piece exactly once. Pieces may be rotated and reflected.
Rules:
- The 12 pentominoes must cover the entire board β every cell except the central 2Γ2 hole belongs to exactly one pentomino.
- Each cell of the grid contains a digit from 1 to 5.
- Each pentomino must cover exactly five cells whose digits are all different β in other words, every piece must cover the digits 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, one of each.
In short: find a tiling of the board in which each pentomino covers a region containing all five digits. The NOTES grid at the bottom is meant for tracking the pieces: you can cross out each pentomino there once you're certain of its position.
Find the tiling. Solution is unique.
