Guide 2026 General Mini PC Guide USA

Hi everyone!

Thank you to everyone for their support of the Mini PC Guides and it is amazing to see the r/MiniPCs community has grown its largest ever before! These guides have evolved considerably since 2022 and the new 2026 version is finally here!

It's far from complete with many new and discontinued mini PC models to be updated so there will be regular updates. The end of 2025 and start of 2026 have seen RAM prices double or triple and SSD prices have doubled. The simple tab has been reworked to better reflect current prices and will be filled out soon.

Some of the bloat from the 2025 Guide has been temporarily removed and may see a return later in the year if you particularly want a new model list, memes, or something else.

If you see something that can use an update or models of mini pc you would like to see added, don't hesitate to leave comments in this post or on the spreadsheet. I highly recommend viewing this spreadsheet on a desktop with a large screen or on the google sheet mobile app for the best experience. The reddit app for viewing google sheets can be clunky.

Best wishes to everyone looking for mini PC!

Minisforum UM870 Slim – CPU Fan Keeps Cycling On and Off at 25–26°C

Hi everyone,

I have a Minisforum UM870 Slim running Proxmox, and it worked without any problems for over a month. Then I had a minor issue with a Nextcloud container that had become unresponsive, causing the CPU to run under heavy load for several hours. I eventually deleted the container.

However, ever since that incident, I've been experiencing an issue with the CPU fan. It shuts off when the CPU temperature drops to 25°C, which is fine, but then it starts running audibly again as soon as the temperature reaches 26°C.

In other words, the fan runs and cools the CPU down to below 25°C, then stops. With the fan off, the CPU heats up again to above 26°C, causing the fan to start up again. This cycle repeats approximately every two minutes.

Surely this can't be normal. I've tried everything I can think of. My BIOS is running version 1.10, and I've already spent over a week communicating with technical support. I even installed Windows 11 to rule out a software-related issue, but the problem persists.

Please help me. This is driving me crazy!

Recommendations Glorlin Mini PC, АMD Ryzen 7 6800H (hasta 4,7 GHz), 16 GB RAM 512 GB SSD

Hi everyone. I’ve been looking for a computer /mini for a while now. I use it mostly to do office work with multitasking and use of AI. I’m looking for something realiable, longlastime and not noisy and stuff. Even tho my budget is quite low and products in my country are quite expensive.

Found this gorli on Amazon for 400€. Is it a good deal?

Here are the core specs:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 6800H (8 Cores / cm 16 Threads, Zen 3+, up to 4.7 GHz)
GPU: AMD Radeon 680M (Integrated)
RAM: 16GB LPDDR5 6400 MHz Dual-Channel (Non-upgradeable / soldered)
Storage: 512GB M.2 2280 NVMe SSD (Upgradable up to 8TB)
OS: Windows 11 Pro
Ports & Extras: 2x Gigabit LAN, Wi-Fi 6, BT 5.3, HDMI 2.1, DP 1.4, USB Type-C, and triple-display support.

Mainly looking for feedback on the brand (Glorlin), thermal performance under load, and if the non-upgradeable 16GB RAM could be a dealbreaker.

Thanks!

Looking into mini PCs for light gaming

So I wanted to look into some PCs for gaming and the only ones around my local area are

(hp prodesk 600 g6 core i5 10th gen 16gb ram mini pc)

(hp elitedesk 800 g6 mini core i5 10th gen 16gb ram)

Both have 256gb of storage. I'm not trying to make it into a full fledged gaming pc or anything specia,l I just want something that runs a bit better than what I'm currently using. If anyone has any suggestions or maybe knew more about this type of thing (and perhaps if they know how it runs) it would mean a lot!

Recommendations Getting my first mini PC; stuck between Beelink SER8, SER9 and Misinforum UM780L

Title. *Minisforum I've been using my Asus Vivobook X510U (i5 8250U) for around 8 years now and I'm thinking of switching to a mini PC due to the laptop market generally being screwed up but still wanting a decent amount of portability.

Reading through the sub has been immensely helpful thus far.

After going through the subreddit and measuring my own circumstances, I've landed on these 3 PCs (though I read that the H255 for the SER9 is dubious, I still saw people having great experiences with the PC)

I also went through the google sheets guide and it seemed like Beelink and Minisforum both had pretty questionable(?) brand scores of 5.5-5.25 and 5 respectively.

Why might that be?

Here's what I intend to use the PC for.

  • I will probably not exert the PC very much since I'm not big into extreme AAA gaming, the most I could do is host Minecraft servers with a large modpack or play Cities Skylines 1 modded.
  • I will be using Matlab and AutoCAD a lot, probably quite a bit of art/editing software and Godot 2D.
  • Programming.
  • I might also use local LLMs a bit, but no large-scale image or video generation.
  • I will also be using GROMACS, LAMMPS, CP2K and the like- software for running simulations essentially.

I am willing to sacrifice performance for longevity because I will probably have to stick with this computer for the next 6-7 ( heh ) years. Not having upgradeable RAM is not an issue for me since I'll buy a high-RAM version to begin with. Does the soldered RAM for the SER9 cause any reliability issues?

Which PC would you recommend, and how have your experiences been with these mini PCs (or any mid-range mini PC for that matter)?

How important is using an external cooler?

Hardware egpu et ia locale

hello,

Acemagician AM06 pro for P/Homelab/ Proxmox

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about getting the ACEMAGICIAN AM06 Pro with a Ryzen 7 5800U, 32GB RAM and a 512GB SSD for around €429.

I'm pretty new to homelabs and want to get into Proxmox and virtualization. My plan is to run things like Immich, Nextcloud, Pi-hole etc..,

while also playing around with a few VMs, like Windows Server, Windows 11 and Linux.

Before buying it, I'd love to hear from anyone who's been using this mini PC for a while.

How has it held up over time? Any issues with reliability, temperatures or fan noise? And would you recommend it, especially for running 24/7?

Thanks in advance!

Hardware Minisforum MS-02 Ultra + RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF: Power scaling & LLM benchmarks from 70W to 90W

I measured how much the 70 W cap holds back the RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF in the MS-02 Ultra, step by step, on a local LLM (Qwen3.8-27B NVFP4, llama.cpp, full 262K context). Short version: 90 W plus a memory overclock got about 26-29% more throughput than stock, with GPU temps in the mid 70s C.

This card has no aux power connector. Everything above 70 W comes through the PCIe slot, and 90 W is over the 75 W slot spec. Caveats below.

Setup: MS-02 Ultra (BIOS 1.04, 350 W PSU), Core Ultra 9 285HX, 128 GB DDR5 at 4400, RTX PRO 4000 Blackwell SFF 24 GB (PCIe 5.0 x8), Debian 13, NVIDIA open 615.71.10, Secure Boot on.

How: software alone can't raise this card past 70 W. I edited 7 VBIOS power fields (board, slot and 12 V input-current limits, no voltage) and loaded the image into memory through patched, self-signed NVIDIA open modules (Vix Loader / Vix Editor). The EEPROM is never written; reboot onto the stock driver and it's a stock card.

Profile Short decode tok/s 32K prefill tok/s Decode @32K tok/s Peak GPU temp
70 W stock 32.69 920.7 28.43 67-68 C
70 W, core +180 MHz 32.83 934.1 28.77 68 C
80 W 34.95 1029.3 31.48 70 C
90 W 35.53 1109.4 32.76 73 C
90 W, memory +10% 38.80 1139.6 35.00 75 C
90 W, memory +20% 41.26 1158.9 36.64 74 C

Every run gave byte-identical output with no GPU or PCIe errors. 30-minute sustained runs held flat: 80 W peaked at 75 C, 90 W at 77 C.

Takeaways

  • At 70 W the card is power-capped the whole time; overclocking there buys about 1.5%.
  • Power is what matters: 70 to 80 W gave +10-12% on prefill and deep decode.
  • Once power isn't the limit, memory is: at 90 W, +20% memory gave +12% decode.
  • NVML memory offsets are double-data-rate units: +3600 is about +20%.

Slot-power caveat: Minisforum only states "standard 75W" per slot. The PCIe spec allows 5.5 A on the slot's 12 V pins; 90 W is about 7.5 A (1.4x). IR reads on the slot surface at 80 W were about 35-55 C. I stopped at 90 W on purpose and wouldn't go higher slot-only in this box. You own the risk if you try it, and never flash an edited VBIOS.

I bought this mini PC off amazon for and so far so good. I also picked up another 16GB of RAM. It’s going to be used mostly to play WoW Forever. I’ll keep everyone updated as it goes… especially if it breaks. 🤣

Can I add and eGPU to this mini pc?

Thumbnail

I have this mini pc with 32gb of ram, and I forgot what model it is, it’s a beeline pc. I also have a graphics card (that’s I also don’t know the model of, I’m a mood at PC building and parts) that’s I got off a computer someone tossed, the mother board looks all scratch up and it has no storage drive, but all the other components work (the gpu and 32gb of ram which idk why they didn’t take)

And basically I’m wondering of it possible to add and eGPU to mini pc and use the GPU I scavenged on it

I’ll even take bootleg methods, I got the set up for that as well

Recommendations Thoughts on two mini PCs

So, I have been contemplating purchasing the Minisforum AI X1 Pro (370) for awhile now, but also have continued looking around to be sure that it's the best PC for me right now.

Today, I found the Minisforum M1 Pro 285H barebone version with the Intel Core Ultra 9 that's a little cheaper than the X1 Pro, and has most of the things I am looking for in a PC like the X1 Pro does. I did notice that the M1 Pro has a couple more models: the 125H, and just the M1 1295/1390. What is the latest processor between these models? And is the M1 Pro worth it over the AI X1 Pro? I do like how the M1 Pro is smaller, but the X1 Pro doesn't need a big power adapter as far as I know.

I've tried comparing them on Notebook Check and Versus, but wanted some opinions as well.

Any input would definitely be helpful! Thanks in advance!

General Question Avoid mini PCs with poor EMC

The wifi on my beelink ser9 pro is giving me a headache from the very beginning. The connection randomly drops, and sometimes it just refuses to reconnect, and I'm honestly getting tired of dealing with it.

At first, I thought it might be my router or some weird driver issue. I tried the usual troubleshooting stuff, but nothing really solved it. What makes this even more annoying is that I don't have these problems with any of my other computers.

I've got a mac mini m4, a geekom it11 and acer inspire 5 in the some network, and none of them drop connection.

After digging into the issue, I'm increasingly convinced that beelink’s pcb design and emc are part of the problem. Poor emi shielding or interference around the wireless circuitry could potentially cause the unstable connection, although I am not 100% sure.

Honestly, it's a shame, because the HX370 CPU is really powerful, but I felt like I shouldn't have to keep troubleshooting a basic feature like WiFi on a machine in this price range, especially when my other computers work perfectly fine in the exact same environment.

I'm curious whether this is a common issue with this model or if I've just ended up with a bad unit. How should I avoid buying a computer with poor EMC again?

Recommendations Mini pc for quality gaming

Hi everybody,

My sister really deserves a computer. But she doesn't have space or the need for a massive one. So I've been looking at mini PC's

She'll mainly use it for gaming. Games like, TheSims, Planet zoo 2 and modded Minecraft.

We have a budget for about 800€.

Is this mini pc something for her. Or is there something better?

(She has an old MacBook for her work and other daily stuff, that's why she'll only use the mini pc for gaming)

TOPCtec Ryzen 7 7840HS mini PC — 16GB LPDDR5 / 512GB SSD

Post image
0 Upvotes

We’re the team behind TOPCtec. Here’s our Ryzen 7 7840HS mini PC in its 16GB LPDDR5 / 512GB SSD configuration.

It uses an 8-core, 16-thread processor and integrated Radeon 780M graphics. This is aimed at people building a compact everyday desktop for work or study, rather than finding room for a full-size tower.

One detail worth noting before choosing a configuration: the LPDDR5 memory is onboard, not a pair of replaceable desktop memory sticks. Choose the memory capacity with your longer-term needs in mind.

Thoughts on this Peladn Mini PC?

Thumbnail amazon.com
4 Upvotes

This mini seems like a good deal for $580. I wanted to share it with others and get some others’ thoughts on it.

Specs:

  • CPU: Ryzen 7 7840HS
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5 @ 5600MHz
  • Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD (fast, but only 1 M.2 slot)
  • Chassis: Metal case
  • Upgradability: Swappable Wi-Fi card, room for a 2.5" SATA drive

Downsides:

  • Mediocre I/O port selection
  • Single NVMe slot
  • New or unknown company

You’re basically paying for the 32GB DDR5 and 1TB SSD and getting the rest for free.
