Hello r/Monitors!
We’re giving away one ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCWM. It boasts the latest Tandem WOLED featuring RGB Stripe pixel technology, bringing OLED’s deep blacks together with improved text and image clarity. We’ll have one winner for the monitor, plus three additional winners who will each receive a $50 Amazon gift card.
Whether you’re into competitive gaming, display technology, or just interested in trying out something new, feel free to enter!
Primary RGB Tandem 2.0
Primary RGB Tandem is a device technology that replaces the three-layer structure of the existing OLED device — Blue, Yellow, Blue — by splitting the Yellow layer into Green and Blue, thereby stacking pure Red, Green, and Blue into four independent layers. This enhances brightness and color gamut while improving power efficiency. After the launch of Primary RGB Tandem 1.0 in 2025, Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 was introduced in 2026, featuring a refined device structure and driving algorithms for even greater performance.
RGB Stripe Subpixel Layout & 140PPI — Sharper Text, Truer Color
A true RGB Stripe subpixel layout means sharper text and more accurate color. Paired with a 140 PPI UHD resolution, every icon, line of text, and fine detail renders with exceptional clarity. It goes beyond conventional gaming monitor boundaries, making it equally viable for office and professional applications.
Unparalleled HDR & Enriched Color Depth
True Black 400 certification, up to 1000nits of peak brightness, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, and 10-bit color combine to create HDR that's both punchy and accurate.
Perfect Visual Experience in Any Environment
Powered by ultra-low reflection technology, Tandem WOLED achieves an industry-leading reflectance of just 1.1%, maintaining exceptional picture quality — with no black blooming and no color fading — even in bright environments.
Dual Mode & Fastest Response Time
Dual Mode lets you switch between 4K at 240Hz for detail-heavy work or FHD at 480Hz when you need max frame rate. 0.03ms G2G response time — 100 times faster than LCD panels — makes every frame razor-sharp in fast-paced FPS gaming.
Human Friendly
Certified Eyesafe by minimizing blue light in both circadian-disrupting and eye-harmful ranges. A glare-free, immersion-first display that keeps your eyes comfortable for extended play.

I just got this brand new Lg 27GS75Q-B 27-inch monitor and noticed that it had a stick pixel. I know you can’t see well but it still contains color so it’s not dead yet. How can I fix this before it dies?

I recently saw this asus monitor on sale for this price I only have around $150 to spend I’m upgrading from a 1080p 144hz monitor that’s super cheap I will only be using this for gaming and causal desktop stuff but mostly games like rust and competitive shooters I’m
Unsure if this is a deal of a life time or I should save up and get a monitor more in the $200 range.

Hello \(^o^)/
Okay so I am playing in 1440p on my IPS and resisted to the OLED propaganda, OLED HDR True Black 400 propaganda and OLED HDR True Black 500 propaganda. Right now OLED HDR True Black 600 is coming and I think it's my time to buy ! Then I will wait for HDR True Black 1000 - 1200 to upgrade
So about the resolution .. I am watching a lot of 4K YouTube videos, movies and I'm browsing a lot. So I want to get an 4K 27", but I am also playing a lot and I don't know if this is a good idea knowing that I will keep my RTX 5070 for a very long time with these prices... (ง'̀-'́)ง
I thought about using DLSS Performance to upscale from 1080p but I think that the framerate is still going to be lower than 1080p native because of the tensor cores that are used more intensively at 4K that 1440p. (╥﹏╥)
Should I get a 1440p HDR True Black 600 instead ? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Single monitor desk, and the two halves of my day are fighting over it. The work laptop docks in from nine to six, then the same panel runs my ranked sessions, and whichever job loses is the one that sets my mood for the night. I have not bought anything yet, this has been three weeks of open tabs and no checkout.
Day job is docs, sheets and a waay oversized number of browser tabs, where text sharpness carries everything. Night job is shooters, where anything below high refresh feels smeared to me. A friend's 27 inch 4K makes spreadsheets look great and makes my matches feel like a slideshow. A budget 1080p high refresh panel does the exact opposite. Neither one is wrong, they are just built for half of my day each.
The filter I wrote down after week two: native 4K for the day, a real high refresh mode for the night, one cable to the dock, and something that does not swallow the whole desk.
Everything on my list refuses that filter somewhere. The high refresh camp is easy on the wallet and honestly would be fine if I only played, but it gives up the text side entirely. The 27 inch 4K camp makes documents lovely and caps out right where my nights get interesting.
The one I understand least is a 19 inch QLED from Uperfect, GR19BU. 4K with a 144Hz mode, so on paper it does both halves of the day, and that is exactly why I do not trust it yet. Its at the pricier end of what I planned to spend, 19 inches eats a real slice of desk depth, no battery either, and it is the only one of the three I have never seen in person.
So for people who ran this double duty on one panel: sharp and slow, or fast and soft, and how did it age. And if anyone here runs a 4K panel with a high refresh mode, does it actually hold up in game, or is it a number on the box.

I’ve been deciding what monitor to purchase for the last month, I thought I was going to get a mini-LED but decided to go for oled as I just prefer the image quality.
I’m between these two. I know two very high-end models that you can’t prob go wrong with any 😅. I currently have both monitors side by side and I’m trying to decide which one to keep.
They honestly to my eye look extremely similar, if I were to put a number maybe the ASUS is. 10/10 and the LG is 9.7/10 like I can kinda see the asus being just a tiny bit better
Price-wise, I was able to find an open box asus on micro center for $1000 and the lg on sale for $1100 on Best Buy.
What’s making this decision a bit hard is the warranties. The asus came with a small scratch on the screen (can’t even notice it when on) so I’m not sure if they might not honor the oled warranty in 3 years. I talked to costumer service and they said they might charge me even though the scratch was there when I bought it (open box)
For the LG I’m planning to purchase the geek squad protection.
So since the prices are so similar, I’m not sure if I’m settling for the LG. Even tho I think I genuinely think the both look fantastic with the ASUS edging very slightly prob because of the glossy coating.
I use my monitor primarily for gaming and some productivity work.

I think we as consumers have come full circle. We went from having to visit physical stores to check products ourselves, to relying on online reviews to make informed decisions, and now we’re back to square one.
You can’t trust reviews because of bots, companies buying positive reviews, competitors spreading negative ones, individual preferences, or some sweaty dude with personal attachment issues writing a 2,000-word rant because a product didn’t meet his very specific expectations.
At this point, if you are in search for monitor or any tech, the best solution might genuinely be going to stores and checking things out yourself, just like we used to. Funny how technology was supposed to make this whole process easier.

I have a Zotac Twin Edge 3070, and am looking to upgrade from my regular 32 inch monitor to a 34 inch Ultrawide OLED. I keep seeing mixed opinions when I Google it on how this will run some saying it’s fine others that my GPU will struggle to run higher end games.
Obviously don’t want to drop $800 on a monitor for my games to look/run worse. Thoughts and opinions welcome

I've tried both 27" 1440p and 32" 4K OLED monitors extensively, and I feel like I'm stuck choosing between two compromises.
27" is perfect for competitive games, but feels too small for immersive single player games and watching anime or TV shows. 32" is perfect for those things, but feels too big for competitive games.
I mainly play competitive games, but I really want to get back into single player games and watch all the anime and shows I've been putting off. What the hell do I do? 😭

Is this a good monitor for the PS5? I wanted a 4k 32” IPS and this is basically the only one available in my home country with these specs. OLEDs are too expensive. This costs about $600 in my country and my budget is around that size. Should I get this or get a 2K 27” IPS (Couldn’t find 4Ks for these)
I mostly plan to play GTA 6 and Marvel Rivals.
Does this monitor support VRR? Cant seem to find many reviews on this.
Also are there any known issues with this brand or model? Thanks

Hi everyone!
I'm going back to university to become an actuary, and I'm building a home setup for studying/working that can also double as a solid gaming PC. I'm in Canada, I'm patient, and I'm willing to wait for Black Friday or other sales.
USE CASE
- Studying and working: lots of spreadsheets, coding, PDFs, and long reading sessions
- Gaming: Skyrim, Oblivion Remastered, Elden Ring (Shadow of the Erdtree), Dark Souls trilogy, OSRS/RuneScape, Minecraft with shaders, and GTA VI on PS5
- I don't play competitive fast-paced shooters (Valorant, CoD, etc.), so 300Hz+ is useless to me. Image quality matters more than raw speed.
PLAN: DUAL MONITOR SETUP (all 27" 1440p, Either 1 OLED if it’s worth the hype, or the Mini Led x2?
Anyway here are my choices but I’m open to hear from you guys, any help would be appreciated
Main monitor (mostly gaming, ~$500 CAD budget):
Second monitor (mounted vertically for studying/working, some gaming, ~$250 CAD budget):
OR 2x AOC Q27G3XMN 27" Mini LED Gaming Monitor?

So, I’ve never owned an OLED or a 1440p monitor before, but today I got to borrow an LG 27GR95QE-B, and honestly, I’m extremely disappointed so far.
I don’t know, I’ve spent over 2 hours messing around with the settings and another 1–2 hours researching on Reddit, Google, and ChatGPT, trying to figure out what’s wrong.
Why does the screen feel like it’s running at super low brightness? I’ve set everything to max brightness, ie put contrast on 60-65 (seems like reducces the automatic dimming) but it doesn’t even look HALF as bright as my MacBook Pro M1 or my OMEN 25i monitor.
The whites don’t even look properly white, if that makes sense. I don’t really know how to explain it.
For example, I’m watching a Twitch stream in fullscreen, and it’s honestly unbearable. It feels like I’m half blind or something because everything looks so dim.
I have to admit that I usually run pretty much every screen I use at max brightness, whether it’s my laptop, phone, or monitor, so maybe I’m just not used to OLED yet? But I really wasn’t expecting it to feel this dim.
Can anyone explain me what im doing wrong, and if is actually some eye sight problem on my end?
PD: Actually when im watching the worlds twitch stream it looks pretty bad (brightness wise) but, when i swap to this post tab, after some time (10-15secs) seems like brightness goes up and it looks waay better, but still not perfect.

Does 93 and 89.9 PPI make any difference?

Hello everyone,
I’m currently thinking about building a computer and have been gathering ideas from various sources about what I want and what I need.
I’d like a 1440p monitor, but I can’t quite decide which one to go for yet. My shortlist includes the AOC Q27G3XMN/BK (VA Mini-LED), currently priced at around €230, and the Gigabyte M27Q X (IPS) for €220. Judging purely by the specs, I think the AOC performs significantly better than the Gigabyte. However, as I haven’t seen either monitor in person, let alone tested them, I’d really appreciate a recommendation.
I’ll probably want to play games such as BG3, Oblivion Remaster, Anno 1800 & 117, Divinity 3 etc. on it, if that’s relevant. So, no games for which I absolutely need 200Hz(?). Mainly, I’d like a nice, smooth picture at 1440p. Perhaps these monitors are actually overkill for my needs.
Very occasionally I’ll also edit photos, but that happens three or four times a year at most – usually even less often – so the focus is clearly on gaming.
I’d be very grateful if I could get a few opinions. I’m going to ask for the monitor as a birthday present and buy the computer afterwards, because my financial situation will be better next month (provided prices don’t go up, lol) than it is now.
tl;dr: I need a gaming monitor for around €220–230. AOC Q27G3XMN/BK (VA Mini-LED) or the Gigabyte M27Q X (IPS).
Many thanks in advance to everyone here on the forum.

There is a gap on one side but other side there isn't. If I press it goes back but when I release my finger it comes back out no clip or sound. Should I return or keep it ?

Just realized that maybe we need to start pushing for built-in bias lighting on monitors as a standard feature & not just in high end niche models & not just in 1 spot either like how they put it around the VESA mounts... in the picture here I attached a 30" strip of LED that are powered by USB & plugged it into the monitor to power it... it's not perfect & kinda annoying depending on my anglebc it's just stuck to the face. But the difference it makes to the dark dreary shadows, my eye strain, my mood, & my color balance on my web camera is worth it.
I feel like this stuff is so cheap, it should be standard even on bog standard office monitors. It can be classy, along a seam & controlled via the same menu as everything else. It could even be addressable to 1 bezel or all 4 or even the back near the mount for those who want wall bias lighting. Then high end monitors could make it addressable for tower LED lightning & games etc.
This would totally be worth for ergonomics alone.
Even if the LEDs aren't pre-installed. Having channels for flat ribbon LEDs & a USB port at the end would be significantly better than what we have now.
Anways, just throwing this out there. Please discuss ideas. Hopefully I didn't take all the discussion points out of this lol.

I am looking to upgrade from my current setup. I have an Xbox Series S that I don’t plan on upgrading until I have a PC. I am also in school for another year and a half so I use it a lot for studying. My studying load is going to cut down a ton in the next 9 months but the current balance is probably 75% studying and 25% gaming. That ratio will definitely change after the 9 months but that is where I currently am.
My current monitor is a MSI Optix G27C4 which is 1080p, 165Hz, 1 ms, VA curved.
I am looking to spend $500 or less and I am not too picky, just want an upgrade and was looking for recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I'm looking to upgrade my monitor which is a common QHD IPS and I'm considering getting a mini-led for these reasons:
- I just found out macbook displays are mini-leds and not OLEDs as I originally thought they were. And I think my mac screen is awesome.
- There's no burn-in issues.
- it's more budget friendly.
Are the extra dollars for an OLED actually worth it? Does OLED stand up to the hype or am I gonna be just fine with a mini led?
