Driving test
Looking to take my test here within a month here in Murfreesboro, is it as easy as people say? I’ve seen other states have people driving for 45 minutes😭

Please don't make this some weird racial post, but there are legit differences in tattooing black vs white skin (because of the melanin). So, while I've seen a ton of recommendations in this sub, I wanted to know if anyone had specific experiences with artists in Murfreesboro. Looking to get a coverup of a 33-year tattoo. Appreciate any feedback.

What are your experiences on the water quality above Walter Hill Dam in the East Fork Stone River, just downstream from the landfill. I will never go swimming in it, supposedly there is leachate for the landfill getting into the water. I’ve gone fishing there a few times though on the kayak. There is a news story where a guy went swimming and he ended up being in a coma. Do you guys have any stories?

murfreesboro is pretty lame when it comes to the club scene. i’m a regular at most bars on the square and all the other ones don’t do it for me. any places that yall would recommend two dudes in their 20s that’s not super well known or anything.

Sample ballot for Rutherford County located here:
https://www.wkrn.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/73/2026/10/ruco.pdf
There are 3 constitutional amendments to vote on, so I highly recommend reading the ballot before voting.
I voted at SportsCom, no wait when I went.
Go vote!

Question mostly for the ladies.
What does Murfreesboro look like in terms of hair salons and quality, experienced stylists? Is the market saturated with many small, inexpensive salons? Are there many salons that are too expensive? Are there not enough hair studios in general especially considering how quickly the community has grown?
I ask because I’m a stylist with over 20 years of experience that will be moving to Murfreesboro next month (close to the VA hospital on Memorial) and want to know if it will be tough gaining traction and getting new clients. I also have longer term plans of starting my own salon there in the next three years.

Very silly question. Is there any salon in town that has mood changing gel polish? I remember getting it years ago but can't remember where.
Yes, I know that it's a function of heat/cold - but still very fun IMO :)

I'm a recently divorced male looking for suggestions for an apartment in/around the 37129 zip code that is pet friendly. Thanks in advance.

my lease is up in november, and i’ve posted to 2 local facebook groups with no responses so i’m kinda scrambling at this point. i’d greatly appreciate advice on how i can find a roommate to take my previous guy’s spot. i’ve also been asking friends and coworkers if they know anyone and they all said no.
in case anyone sees this and is looking for a place i’ll add that it’s a 2bed1bath for $700/mo per person and it’s 5 minutes from the square. thank you!

I've started a Mahjong group that meets weekly in Smyrna. We're meeting at suppertime at Mr. Brews Taphouse, which is a great place for a meal or a snack or a beer flight. The staff is super-friendly and excited to have us there and is supporting us as we take off. Also, the burgers are great.
We currently have two tile sets with racks and cards, so eight can play. We've got three regulars so far and need to build our group! We'll add more sets as the group grows. If there is a lot of participation, we can add events at other locations, including Murfreesboro and other nearby cities.
I have a Meetup group where we keep the calendar and manage RSVPs. It's free for you to use. We've got the events capped at eight attendees for now and will increase the cap as attendance grows and we add more tables. If you want to attend an event and it's already full, you can join the waitlist and watch for an email when a space opens up.
If you already play and have your own set, we would love for you to become a regular and help us expand!
If you're a complete newbie, we'll teach you. We play casually and welcome anyone who wants to make friends and engage in some no-stakes competition.
If you are completely unfamiliar with Mahjong: it's a game that uses tiles but plays like rummy. There are four players in each game. (We play with a dummy hand when we only have three.)
We are playing American Mahjong (although I have played other variants online and have a set for them, so if you're already experienced in another version, let me know or bring your own set and we'll jump in with you--we can get the Meetup calendar adjusted to show what's available to play).
If you want to learn more about the game or brush up your skills before you come out in person, we recommend the American Mahjong app Mahjong 4 Friends.
Here's the Meetup group link:

Hey yall, looking to cut down on my meat consumption. What are your favorite vegetarian options that aren’t just salads? Open to pretty much anything.

Anyone have a contact who sells, delivers, and stacks chopped firewood in the Boro? Thanks.

My not so very bright 6 month old kitten is stuck about 30-40ft up in a tree. He is crying and making no attempt to come down. I have called the fire department, PAWS, and some tree trimming companies with no luck. Any ideas?
update! Found a neighbor with a 30 foot ladder and he’s safe and sound! Here is the culprit

Tickets start at almost $100 and the show is less than a month away with thousands of seats left. Curious if/when they pull the plug and cancel

I know it has been spoken of, I haven't heard anything lately.
ALSO driving to the VA yesterday, starting at Broad Street, I drove North Thompson Lane and noticed,,,the 3' high orange construction canvas on both sides of the road. Noticed the rolled up grass staked down acting as barriers against corrosion. SO I ASSUME this is the beginning of 5-laning North Thompson Lane?
