Discussion [Product Experience] Stream Night Upgrade: Share Your Top Netflix Pick for a Chance to Try the LG StanbyME 2 Max
Share the Netflix series you would most want to watch, and you could be one of five members here trying the LG StanbyME 2 Max. It is a screen that rolls to wherever you actually end up watching. Bed, couch, kitchen counter, or out on the patio.
The LG StanbyME 2 Max steps up from the 27 inch QHD model of the StanbyME 2 to a 32 inch 4K UHD touchscreen, so faces and background detail hold up from across the room, and lifts the sound from virtual 9.1.2 to virtual 11.1.2 channel audio (2.0 channel speakers with AI Sound Pro) with Dolby Atmos. Dolby Vision and the Alpha 8 AI Processor Gen 3 handle the picture, with AI 4K upscaling for older titles.
The battery grows to 144 Wh for up to 4.5 hours of wireless use, up from up to 4 hours, so a few episodes run with nothing plugged in. webOS 26 runs your apps on the screen, and the rolling stand moves it from the living room to the bedroom when the night runs long.
Five members of this community get the chance to try one.

Discussion [Try & Keep] Which TV Actually Holds Up for Netflix Nights? Upgrade with LG OLED G6 65"
Congratulations!! š u/Lorhand has been selected as a winner.
Hi r/Netflix users!
Most living rooms aren't dark theaters, and Netflix originals aren't mastered for average TV settings. Picture quality for streaming comes down to how well a display handles the edges: shadow detail that stays readable, HDR that doesn't clip, and color that holds consistency across different lighting conditions. The LG OLED G6 is built around those specific demands.
That is why LG is bringing a special review event to r/Netflix, giving one Redditor the chance to experience the LG OLED G6 65-inch in their own home setup and share honest impressions with the community.
And yes, the selected participant will get to keep the TV. š
This event is inspired by LGās recent Hollywood Roadshow at Picture Shop in Los Angeles, where cinematographers, colorists, and post-production experts experienced the LG OLED G6 firsthand and explored how next-generation OLED technology can bring creative intent closer to home.
One featured expert was veteran color scientist Joshua Pines, whose credits include Blade Runner, Gravity, The Revenant and more. In the Roadshow content, Pines shares his perspective on OLED picture processing, calibration, shadow detail, and how display technology can support the creatorās intended viewing experience123. For more details, click here.
Ā
Why the LG OLED G6 for Netflix streaming picture quality?
Dark thrillers and color-graded originals both expose weaknesses in displays that cannot hold shadow separation or accurate color under changing light.
That is where the LG OLED G6 excels, with Hyper Radiant Color Tech, Perfect Black, Perfect Color4, the α11 AI Processor Gen3, and Reflection-Free Premium5 helping support clear, immersive Netflix viewing in both bright and dark environments.
Take a closer look at the key LG OLED G6 features below.
Ā
FILMMAKER MODE⢠with Ambient Light Technology
FILMMAKER MODE⢠with Ambient Light Technology lets you see films just as the director intended. With Dolby Vision® for extraordinary color, contrast, and brightness, plus Dolby Atmos® for sound you can feel all around you, the LG OLED G6 helps make movies and series feel more immersive6.
Ā
Hyper Radiant Color Tech: cinematic color and clarity for streaming movies

Hyper Radiant Color Tech is our next-generation OLED technology that enhances every aspect of picture quality to an entirely new level. It delivers incomparable brightness, Perfect Black, and Perfect Color in any light, while preserving stunning 4K visuals with our best α11 AI Processor Gen3, and it is even certified for Reflection-Free Premium, ensuring flawless picture quality without reflection, whether in bright or dark environments. Discussion Watching the Stanford Prison Experiment as someone who works in a prison
Just wanted to chime in and say how amused I was by this whole thing. Firstly, the demographics were not real life. Most incarcerated men are not white, yet this show was brimming with white guys (but no Asians? Weird).
Secondly, some of the stuff the inmates did in the show (specifically, how a few of them spoke to the guards or challenged authority) would have gotten them a ticket and a trip to seg.
Thirdly, and understandably, the show does not address what a major role gangs play in the power shifts among inmates within a prison system. If the guards were removed from a real prison, you can bet that the gangs would regroup into their own factions, and it would not be such a happy ending.
Overall the experiment was interesting, but if anything it brought home 1) how outnumbered prison guards are by inmates (which is so real everywhere), and 2) consistency, routine, respect, and firmness is needed to keep order, no matter who is in charge.
I realize that prison is a good place to stage an experiment about power dynamics, but when comparing it to real life prison, there's just so much to giggle at.....

Discussion Baby Reindeer First Time Watch Spoiler
in case the spoiler tab didnāt work > SPOILERS FOR BABY REINDEER (2024)
yes i know iām late, 2 years late, i donāt like to watch new things, now weāve got that out of the way. wow.
genuinely, Richard Gadd gave one of the most heartbreaking performances, he is phenomenally talented, Jessica Gunning too, is a standout here, the scene where Donny finally drops the comedy and lets it all out is one of the best scenes in a Netflix drama, and I just felt this overwhelming empathy for Donny, heās incredibly relatable, and you really start to feel a sense of protectiveness towards him (or at least i did) especially when Martha comes and fucks up his gigs.
Martha, oh good lord. I really, hated her. Maybe because of the S/A in episode 2, I just think thatās unforgivable really, but as time went on she just became more and more anxiety inducing, which is props to Jessica who plays her. At first I thought, like a lot of people, well surely heās leading her on a bit by giving her the compliments, paying back the kindness, but I was proven wrong because the show goes from 0 to 100 very fucking quickly, leaving my jaw dropped multiple times.
I think everyone can relate to chasing a dream, which is what makes Darrien so dangerous, he KNOWS what Donny wants, and he knows heāll do anything to get there, which puts him in an incredibly exploitative position that had me crying multiple times for Donny and wanting him out of that situation.
The writing is stellar, and has a great way of making you feel a ton of emotions at once, you find yourself worrying for Donnyās and his families safety.
An underrated part of this series was Teri, I really liked her, I liked how she stood up for herself, refused to hide away, and Nava Mauās performance was brilliant. She added so much to the story and to Donnyās life.
I could say more, but Iām still processing the show, overall I think Baby Reindeer is a gripping and powerful story, with excellent acting, a chilling soundtrack / score, good pacing, great storytelling and I think it tells the complicated tale of low self esteem equalling taking ANY form of intimacy and praise from ANYONE to the point youāre cancelling out things theyāve done or said, very well.
You might disagree but hey, it would be boring if we all thought the same wouldnāt it.

Discussion I watch netflix in French with German subtitles, best way I found to learn vocab
Most people learning languages with netflix watch the shows in original version + subtitles in their native language. I do the opposite and that hack helped a great deal to improve my vocabulary!
I'm French so I put the audio in french and the subtitles in the language I learn (currently German). Since I understand everything, I just read the subtitles and see how French is translated in German.
For example, someone says "laisse tomber" (literally "let it fall" in French but it means "forget it") and the german subtitle writes "vergiss es", not "lass es fallen". So you learn how people actually say it.
Be careful, if the show is dubbed the subtitles won't match exactly what you hear (but it's not a big deal).
I also use the reverso extension on chrome that allow me to learn new vocabulary directly within the subtitles. You hover a word and it shows the translation. You can also save it in your favorites and practice afterwards with flashcards and quizzes.
I go through the saved words the day after. The same words often come back in the next episodes so it sticks pretty fast.
If you use this method, make sure to select shows with lots of dialogues (sitcoms, romcoms, reality shows) with daily-life vocab. Two good ones in French: The Hook Up Plan (Plan CÅur), a romcom about a group of friends in Paris, and Call My Agent (Dix pour cent): agents in a Paris talent agency trying to keep their famous clients happy. They just talk about their daily life all the time so you get a lot of everyday vocabulary!
Also rewatching a show you already know is even easier, you can focus 100% on the subtitles.
Anyone here doing the same? Curious about how you use Netflix to learn vocabulary.

Discussion The New Stanford Prison Experiment⦠are we all agreeing that Hudson is a real piece of shit?
Really liking this show. Itās interesting and fascinating. I feel like I mostly understand the behaviour of the contestantsā¦. Except Hudson.
Absolutely no valuable quality whatsoever. Arrogant, power hungry, disrespectful towards everyone else and mostly women⦠and then heās also a complete coward and liar

Discussion Joanne is the WORST
I used to love Nobody Wants This but Joanne is the most self-centered, childlike, pain-in-the-ass character, I have seen in ages. And Noah just lets her. Talk about āmake themā he should grow a pair and āmake herā.
Her speech to make Travis jealous, as a partner, I would have left her
To give up her seat on a flight for a stranger, for what was important to her partner, self centered.
Calling it her wedding and that he couldnāt dance with his own mother, which he wanted.
Morgan and Sasha are the ONLY redeeming characters left this season.

Technical Support Netflix quality is poor on my phone
I have the best data plan. I can watch high-quality content on my computer. But the quality of the series is low on my phone. For example, I notice that the same series looks much better when I watch it on another platform instead of Netflix. Everything is set to "open at the highest quality" in my account settings and app settings. My internet even supports 4K content. I've heard that others have experienced similar issues. Does anyone know a solution? My phone is a Samsung S23 Fe. By "low quality," I mean 720p. It even opens a series that can be watched in 4K at 720p.

Question Netflix Verification code
Hi everyone! Iād like to ask if anyone has received Netflix verification codes through Viber.
As far as I know, Netflix usually sends verification codes via email, but recently, Iāve been receiving Viber messages containing Netflix verification codes.
Does Netflix officially use Viber to send verification codes, or could these messages be scams or phishing attempts? Has anyone else experienced this?
Iād appreciate any advice on how to verify whether these messages are legitimate and what steps I should take if they arenāt. Thank you!

Technical Support It's been like 2yrs since Netflix has removed the option for downloads on PC. The app was ported from a native windows app to a bing browser based app, similar thing was also done by amazon prime video but they did manage to keep the download option. I hope Netflix bring the option back.
It is also useful for people who have somewhat slow internet and still allow them to stream/watch highest or their preferred higher quality without Netflix itself forcing the lower quality.

Discussion Did The New Stanford Prison Experiment - just erase prisoner #637-588 ?
Anyone else catch this in Episode 1? This guy was on the bus, went through booking, and was in the pod with everyone else. Then the guards showed up, and he completely vanished. No explanation, no mention of him again.
Screenshots from 13:59 and 16:23.
Did I miss something, or did Netflix just pretend he was never there?
Question Death of the Pastorās Wife
Do people still go to this narcissistic, sociopathic maniac's church? I'm wondering if those two disgusting people (JP and his new wife) have tried to sue over the documentary, and if anything has come of the case.

Discussion Dr Quinn and Dynasty
First of all I'm loving LOVING all the old shows on Netflix now. I feel like I went from hardly finding anything to watch to having so many great options.
I'm watching Dr Quinn Medicine Woman with my partner, and Dynasty on my own. Both are so good!! I did watch Dr Quinn somewhat in my teens, but never saw Dynasty. I'm only a couple episodes into each.
My question is: are their any fan theories that anyone on Dynasty is a descendent of the people on Dr Quinn? Such different shows from different eras and about different eras, but both set in or near Denver Colorado, and both featuring sexy miners (well, Sully is a former miner and Mathew is a geologist, but pretty close!)

Question why does netflix make it so hard to find stuff you actually want to watch
like genuinely, i spend 20 minutes scrolling through recommendations that have nothing to do with what i'm in the mood for. does anyone else end up just picking the same show you've seen three times because the algorithm is just not it, or is it actually just me being picky
