Lawsuit links Mt. Juliet woman to $8.2 million payroll fraud scheme
A Mt. Juliet woman is facing accusations of embezzlement after filing new civil court filings. The allegations claim that she abused her position as a top payroll employee to divert over $8.2 million to her personal bank account.
The lawsuit, filed by the workforce management company nextSource in Davidson County Chancery Court on Tuesday, alleges that the payroll employee created fake worker profiles and used them to divert funds over an eight-year period.
The complaint reveals that the missing funds were only discovered on Monday, October 12.
