Here's a quick hud-less Paarl before I get to Flora.

Soooo, after completing 3 RL1 runs and finally beating all Dark Souls trilogy (even got AA and true 100% in DSR already, yay!) I decided that its time to start properly learning them too. And then I come to the question - any basic SL1 tips for DSR? Like good weapons, infusions, what specifics of the game I need to look out for (with the idea of me preferring grinding for hitless) - for example I already know that you can dodge only in 4 directions while locked on lol, so no lock on :) What bosses are the most trouble, etc.

Anything that you find useful info would be really appretiated!

This is my second playthrough of Dark souls 1, so I didn't know that Lautrec can kill the fire keeper even if you didn't free him from the prison. Now I have to beat him in Anor Londo.

Also, I want to beat the guards infront of the boss arena because I would like to summon Solaire for it (I'm not that great in the game especially at sl1 and Solaire is my fav character in the game), but he is always at low HP before getting into the arena and I don't have enough pyromancies for O&S when I deal with the guards.

I thought about using poison darts for the guards, but I've read they don't work for lautrec.

I'm thinking about just doing a Sl4 run to use the short bow to make this more bearable, but if anyone has tips to make this easier for me, it would be greatly appreciated!

I finished my first RL1 run of Elden Ring a few months ago, and I'm already feeling the itch to do it again. However, I'm not really sure how to do it. Going into NG+ would probably be easier and wouldn't clog up my character screen, but a fresh character would be a "purer" experience. I don't want to start one, then realize halfway through that the alternative would be more fun and put myself in a situation where I have to pick fun or progress.

For those of you who went back for a second run, did you do NG+ or make a new character? If you've done both, which did you find more fun? Did NG+'s increased difficulty make up for having all your gear or did it feel the same as NG?

Also, somewhat unrelated question: What restrictions should I add for my second run, if any? My first run was RL1, No Summons/Ashes (outside of Leda), SB0. I'm thinking about adding No Aux, but I'm open to other suggestions within reason (I'm not ready for +0 yet).

G + MP will come shortly, but in the meantime, I went and procured a perfect abyssal. Woohoo!

Not a very good weapon for bayle at RL1 because of the 20 dex requirement. Even with dex-knot tear bayle can stall a lot which can make the physick tear run out. The camera in this fight feels like a trap. Locking off helps make it easier to see what's going on.

I also wish I didn't have to use the crucible talisman here. His attacks are fine to dodge but what gave me trouble was the double fire breath attack he does in phase 2. The follow up explosion to the second fire breath feels like such its such a tight window to dodge. Even with the talisman I was still getting caught by it. Fortunately he didn't do that attack on this attempt.

Fight definitely shows its age. If I were giving them advice on how to remake from the ground up, my advice would be:
1. Get rid of glitch charge (it is glitchy). Maybe give Ornstein a projectile attack so he can punish the player who lets him get too far away
2. Give them a combined health bar. It punishes aggressive playstyle to only let the player hit one of them in phase 1. If one dies, let the other resurrect him if the player doesn't keep up the pressure
3. The shattering pillars is a cool gimmick, but it doesn't impact the play of the fight. Give one of the bosses a move that's really hard to dodge unless you are standing on pillar that's been broken
4. Smough moveset is too simple and slow. Give him something like a sword and let him have some fun combos
5. I like how Ornstein plays with space with his hops, but they're kind of janky. Make him able to stretch his body in some of his attack.. this further differentiates him from solid Smough

I really like this fight. It has a really nice flow to it and a lot of his moves feel intuitive to dodge. I should have practiced hot swapping the shield for Carrian Retaliation but haven't got that down yet. Only gripe I have with Mohg is that if you get bad RNG with his blood flames you are kinda done for at RL1

These guys have been blocking my rl1 run for months, happy to report I finally took them down. Strat was Sleep pots & arrows w/ Spinning Weapon ash of war on Great Scythe w/ Bloodflame incant. 2 spins & a heavy attack pretty much did it for each phase. Scythe was lvl 20.

Now on to Beast Clergyman - advice appreciated!

Took me so long to beat him. I got caught by fire bounces, terrain and fire ball traps (avoidable).
