Question about Pinoy Civil Engineer planning to migrate in AU

Hello fellow kababayans! Fresh CE grad here planning my AU migration for 2030–2032. Seeking advice on a few things:

  1. With projected points of 75–85 (Subclass 189), 80–90 (Subclass 190), and 90–100 (Subclass 491), how good are my chances of getting invited if I lodge EOIs across all states?
  2. Will having QA/QC Engineer experience in the PH make it hard to get hired by Australian construction/engineering firms?
  3. Any advice for a fresh civil engineer preparing for this journey?

Salamat in advance!

🇦🇺 AU 🇳🇿 NZ AUS Visa SC 190 Application: do we need to update civil status in all valid IDs

We're in the process of lodging an Aus Visa SC 190 Application. I only noticed now, as I was requesting a PSA Birth Certificate, that the National ID has a civil status. I got married last year and have included my husband in said Visa Application. Do we need to update this (and other valid IDs) now? I understand we're supposed to upload a copy of our documents towards the end of the application. Or will our Marriage Certificate be enough? We're wondering if this will be an issue.

Migration Process [Spain] Dependent of Unmarried Partner with Student Visa

Hi! Has anyone processed documents as a dependent for unmarried partner. My bf will be applying for student visa masters in Spain, and we'll be living together for 18-20 months already by the time we apply next year.

Do you think this is possible? Worried lang ako in general if we'll get the approval or not because this is a big decision for the both of us. Siguro yung unmarried partner part but seems like Spain is really accepting this naman no? Thank u <33 alis na tayo pinas

General experience Biometric Request Letter

Hi All,

I recently submitted my visa 189 application. My concern is that I did not receive a biometric request letter immediately. Is this normal? Has anyone here experienced a similar situation, and when did you receive your biometric request letter? Also, has anyone obtained their grant without requiring biometric capture?

Thanks in advance.

🇦🇺 AU 🇳🇿 NZ Possible or impossible?

Can I study masters of teaching and learning in NZ even if I dont have a degree in education or prior teaching experience? I do have double degrees and a six sigma greenbelt certification. I am in the hospitality industry for 16+ years and on a senior level position.

I want to pivot my career and pursue my passion in teaching.

But they say the biggest hurdle is not the school but rather the immigration where if there is a disconnect in the profession you are in vs the program you will study, visa rejection is almost expected. Do you think there a chance I can pursue my plans? Check the requirements of the School and im pretty much qualified.

10 years freelance graphic designer, considering migration

39F, registered sole-prop graphic designer for the past 10 years. Married to a 40F graphic designer and commercial photographer with the same business setup. We’re handling local corporations and a few overseas clients. Honest tax payer eversince. Wuw.

For context, ok pa naman kami with work but there is a little uncertainty na because of the economy. Baka may fatigue na din kami from doing the same thing for the past 10 years. Dito kasi sa Pilipinas, pag freelancer ka, you need to register just like any other micro business. May business, fire and other permits kahit sa bahay ka lang magwork. You won’t be able to get local corporate clients if you don’t have these documents. Minsan nakakapagod na din magbayad ng tax kasi di naman ramdam, siguro kaya after 10 years parang gusto nalang namin magmigrate.

Are there people in the same situation as we are? May future ba tayo abroad or totally change career dapat? Willing tax payer naman kami kung masusuklian naman ng serbisyo ng gobyerno. I know that the trend now is to get overseas clients to get premium pay. Pero alam ko din madami ang nasa gantong setup that earn 6 digits a month pero don’t pay taxes. Baka maalat lang ako haha pero di ko mashado masikmura yung fineflex pa pero di naman nagbabayad ng tax.

Filipinos in AUSTRIA

Any filipinos living in Austria? I’m currently on a student visa and approaching my 3rd year in university. I need to do a mandatory internship for me to finish this degree. I’m feeling so lost and depressed right now because its so difficult to find something here when you dont know anyone. I feel like I’m on my own for this. So I’m putting my hopes into my fellow Filipinos who would be willing to connect and network with me. And maybe put me up with the right people.

All I need is a chance. I have applied to so many internships and not one has resulted into at least an interview. I believe I am very much skilled and qualified for the jobs that I have been seeking. I just need an opportunity. An entry.

I feel desperate but maybe thats because I am. I want to achieve this more than anything. I’ve put in the work and effort to get this far. I cant fail now just because I dont know anyone from here.

Migration Process Planning to migrate to AU

I’m literally just planning for it as of now. Wala pa ako funds kasi expensive. Kaka 31 ko lang nung sep and the goal is before 35 andun na ako.

Gusto ko lang sana i-share plan ko and I need the insights of people who migrated. Gemini lang kausap ko and although I believe naging fruitful naman yung nalaman ko, mas gusto ko ng insights from first hand experience. So here goes my plan.

Up until 2028, magsasave ako continuously. Para ma afford lahat up until visa application. Pero ganito ang timeline:

Mid 2027 - take IELTS and Vetassess
If pumasa sa vetassess, apply for visa by 2028 and wait for an invitation.

Additional context, I work freelance operations support and finance admin for a logistics company based in NY. Ang plan ko ay sa Adelaide mag migrate, para regional AU and mas mataas ang chance ma employ dahil sa supposed turnover rate dun (cause most people use regional areas as a stepping stone to go to big cities like sydney and melbourne).

Then once I paid for my visa, sa ph muna ako maghahanap ng work remotely and lipad na sa AU pag may job offer.

PS. I work freelance dba so I dont pay taxes. Ang proof of income ko is Deel invoices na ibabangga sa bank statement.

Please let me know your insights. Thank you.

Migration Process Caregiving abroad with a nursing degree (decades out of practice). Is if possible?

Hello. For context, my father’s salary is enough to sustain the family hence why my mother ended up resigning as a nurse because my father blackmailed her that if she leaves the country they will separate.

Now, their relationship is unstable. My father has left home, and my mother is struggling to start her life again with nothing but a nursing and midwifery license under her name. Given how insane my dad is, she fears that we will end up without financial support as its something he always hold againsy my mother.

Now, she wants to have her own job, and starting as a nurse here in ph, especially in our province would be hard given how its all “palakasan” here. Her next and preferred option would be to go abroad as it has been her dream after all. She’s willing to take caregiving and use her nursing degree as a leverage in applications.

My question is what agency do you recommend? how is the process?

Yes her license are all active still

🇦🇺 AU 🇳🇿 NZ Withdrawal of Manulife Insurance before migration

Hello, everyone. I'll be moving to Australia by next year as a permanent resident and ask ko lang sana if yung nag-migrate and nagbayad prior ng insurance (life insurance, VULs, etc.), did you withdraw your fund value po? Nakaka-8 years na kasi ako as of now sa Manulife and ung total na nabayaran ko is around 300k and ang fund value nya right now is 160k. Is it wise to withdraw nalang and stop paying or continue parin kahit nasa ibang bansa na? Though ang main purpose ko kasi for this is ung life insurance, ung money na makukuha ng beneficiaries. Ano po ginawa ng nasa similar situation about their insurance? Thank you po sa sasagot!

Options for moving to another country? Mariied (PH/CN) currently in Japan struggling with PR rules

Baka may makapag-advice or share ng experiences dito.

My partner and I (both in our 30s) are currently working here in Japan. We’ve been living and working here for quite a while now (almost 8 years na ako as a Software Engineer in IT), pero dahil sa recent tightening ng rules and stricter income/livelihood requirements dito sa Japan for Permanent Residency, mahihirapan na kaming ma-secure yung PR namin dito.

We are exploring other countries to migrate to, and China is heavily considered since my partner is Chinese. Pero ang dilemma ko is hindi ako marunong mag-Chinese, so baka mamatay ako sa hirap sa adjustment kung doon kami lilipat.

A bit of background about me:

  • Profession: Software Engineer (Web Dev / IT) with ~8 years experience here in Japan.
  • Career: Average SWE lang, hindi nag-climb ng corporate ladder masyado (purely technical/individual contributor).

Tanong ko lang or may parehas na experience:

  1. May iba pa bang countries na mas madali or realistic i-migrate-in for a couple like us (PH passport holder + Chinese passport holder), considering my background as a mid-level SWE?

Any advice or reality checks would be greatly appreciated. Thank you po!

Edited:
Wife Background: Did headhunter, scrivener for japan visa 😄 , and now on sales/marketing.
