Meta Affiliate Link Ban

Starting today, affiliate links are banned. Comments containing them will be automatically removed. The decision to allow them was made back when this was a tiny sub; we've since ballooned in size, there's been a noticeable uptick in users posting affiliate links (and in mass amounts, at that), and the rule was always on shaky ground due to both arbitrary enforcement (what dictates a "worthy" comment vs. a comment fishing for affiliate money?) and general principle.

If you've posted affiliate links in the past, you're not in trouble retroactively or otherwise. Comments containing affiliate links should, from now on, be automatically removed; no other action will be taken beyond automatic comment removal unless absolutely necessary.

Which is the best premium-looking phone under 20K?

• Upvotes

I've been looking for a new phone under 20K, and what I've noticed is that most phones look great online but in reality look cheap. A lot of people end up putting these phones in fancy cases anyway, so the design doesn't often matter. However, I was hoping to pick up a phone that looked great even without a cover.

The Moto G96 5G really surprised me. It has a vegan leather back that doesn't pick up fingerprints, a curved display and is really slim and light. It honestly looks and feels like a phone that costs much more. It also has IP68 water protection, which is nice at this price. It’s not the most powerful phone in this range, but if looks and feel matter to you, it’s a solid pick.

Which phone under ₹20K do you think looks the most premium right now?

US looking for a phone with good battery life and good camera

Hello! I'm making this post on behalf of my partner, who is looking for a new phone because their current one (a samsung galaxy from 5ish years ago) has horrible battery life and hs trouble charging. they also dislike how bloaty it is and are looking for something without a lot of bells and whistles. we are in the US.

their priorities are: good battery life, good camera, decent storage, and that they can find an otterbox-like case for it to keep dirt from getting in the ports (they're a gardener and this is an issue currently). they primarily use it for taking pictures, browsing instagram, messaging, and videocalls over snapchat. it has to be compatible with Mint Mobile.

they aren't looking for a flagship phone, just something that works. they also would prefer a small phone, but that is not as high a priority as the things listed above. we will probably buy a refurbished phone to save money, so cost isn't a big issue as long as it's fairly widely available and not too new.

thanks in advance! I love this subreddit and you all helped me decide on my current phone (a zenfone 10) which I love!

AT&T Upgrading from Pixel 8

Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new android and would like some suggestions on what would be a good upgrade from pixel 8 since the latest update has made it painful to use. Constantly freezing up for multiple seconds, closing background apps too aggressively, and instagram is borderline unusable because of how often it stutters and freezes. It also gets absurdly hot, throttling performance even more. All of this has frankly left a bad taste in my mouth, and has me looking at other options. I've also had negative experiences with Samsung in the past, since the camera was always slow and blurry unless conditions were absolutely perfect - not to mention all of their bloatware.

Some info about my usage - I've been playing a ton of pokemon go recently, and need it to run in the background for most of the day. I also do quite a bit of multitasking, so a good amount of RAM is important to me - I will often have YouTube revanced, pokemon go, and google maps running simultaneously - which my pixel has been struggling to handle lately.

One thing I do like about the pixel is that the camera is quick, responsive, and takes decent photo/video, which I can't say about my last galaxy. This is also important to me.

I've been hearing good things about OPPO phones, but I worry that I'll lose out on features like wifi calling/texting (AT&T) as well as privacy concerns. I've heard that T-Mobile supports OPPO phones, but would like to hear opinions of people with experience before I consider switching carriers.

I've also always been interested in OnePlus - but I've heard their latest offerings are not the great deal that they used to be - would love to hear opinions on this.

Let me know if any other information would be helpful. Thanks!

discussion related long time iphone user, just switched to Samsung S26 Ultra

used iPhone(s) pretty much all my life and got bored of them so decided to grab S26 Ultra which i've heard some pretty decent reviews about. Saw my friend using and I was captivated with it and decided to try it myself for once. Now I know I didn't get a lot of time to sit with this but some changes are noticeable from day 1. There is a stark difference between both devices, here are my thoughts afaik-

Camera is much more versatile

the main camera is 200 MP, and the 100x zoom is something entirely missing from apple. On my iPhone 15, zoom was locked at 10x. I won’t pretend 100x is DSLR quality, but 10x to 30x is sharp, and paired with the 200 MP pictures are really vibrant and vivid.

Low light photography is another thing that I want to mention here. Night videos are a level above what I was getting from iPhone in night mode.

Super Steady horizontal lock is another thing that just worked better in samsung compared to iphone's action mode. The footage stays level even if you tilt or run with the phone. I filmed my dog sprinting at the park and it looks like a gimbal shot.

S26 Ultra has much punchier screen

Privacy display is a really nifty feature. Screen goes black so quick that the person sitting next to you can't actually make sense of what is on the screen which is something i dig a lot. It’s also the first phone with a built-in privacy screen, so that feature is not coming to iphone's anytime soon. What I really like is that u can customise it as well, enabling it only for some select apps or notifications.

The screen is also really vibrant and you feel the difference when you compare it. S26 Ultra has better peak nits, larger screen, better pixel density, which really shows the moment you look at the screen.

Galaxy AI Intergrations

Iphone 15 didn't have apple integration support, so Galaxy AI was my first exposure to this. galaxy AI photo assist is something I used and worked well pretty smoothly for me.

Overall i'm really happy with the switch, it feels fresh, and something new. Looking to set good lock next.

TL;DR: If camera and privacy matter to you, the S26 Ultra is the better phone. I’m not going back.

Google messed me up on a comparison between poco x8 pro max and Realme gt7 pro

Unfortunately i can't provide any screenshots here, but i did recently some research on flagship phones, not necessarily top tier or THE HIGHEST phones in their respective brands but you get my point, my goal or main interest is phone that can handle heavy gaming with low overheating risks, plus it's best suited for watching movies/series/videos and with good screen tech/supports high native quality, the longevity maintenance and reliability is a point of interest as well, so i already know the poco might take the cake on that part (probably I'm still not sure) but just moments ago i asked google and other Ai chatbots the same question and they gave me an answer, i asked another time and gave me another result, on one hand they stated that the poco wins when it comes to handling gaming cause they said : "it's Powered by the cutting-edge MediaTek Dimensity 9500s (3nm), this processor hits an incredible AnTuTu benchmark score of over 3.08 million points. It handles demanding titles at maximum graphic settings with high stability. For storage, it utilizes UFS 4.0 technology, guaranteeing nearly instant game loading screens and quick file transfers. It also Features an advanced 3D IceLoop cooling system. This dedicated cooling architecture does a superior job of dispersing heat away from the CPU/GPU, keeping internal temperatures well within safe limits and preventing severe thermal throttling during multi-hour gaming sessions." And on another hand they said the realme is superior because : "The Realme GT7 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite, which provides superior thermal efficiency and sustained frame rates for graphic-heavy gaming. The Poco X8 Pro Max relies on a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip; while powerful, its internal cooling architecture is less premium than Realme's massive vapor chamber setups, leaving it with a slightly higher risk of thermal throttling during marathon gaming sessions."

TL;DR : which of the two phones is suitable for handling heavy games and cinematic watching experience ?

India Help Me Choose. ₹45k budget

Budget: around ₹45,000, buying in India. I’m comparing the realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R.

My priorities are fairly straightforward: everyday use, gaming in the evening, and charging that fits around an irregular schedule. I’d like to keep the phone for several years, so I’m trying to choose around those habits.

The GT 7’s 120W charging is the clearest attraction over the 13R’s 80W support. I often have a convenient charging window before leaving home rather than a fixed overnight routine, so charging capability carries some weight in my decision.

Both have 120Hz LTPO displays, so refresh rate isn’t really a deciding factor for me. I’m more drawn to the GT 7’s battery and charging setup. Both have big batteries, but the GT 7’s 7,000mAh capacity gives it an edge on paper over the 13R’s 6,000mAh. Still, I’m more interested in how long they actually last with everyday use and gaming.

With the same RAM and storage capacity and similar prices, I’d probably lean towards the GT 7. But gaming performance is still a big factor for me, especially frame rate stability and heat during longer sessions. Which one holds up better? Has anyone here played games on both?

Xiaomi 17T or s25 ????

My priorities are battery, cameras. I plan to keep my phone 3-4 years, I mostly use social media or see content not games. I want to buy s25 but it hasn’t so good cameras for photos and the thing that concerns me the most is the battery on this phone.

On the other hand, Xiaomi 17T has all I want ( I prefer Samsung Ui btw ), good cameras, battery and okay performance. But I am concerned that it will start to lag and bug after 1-2 years because I had a redmi note 10 that lags a lot. Also they say that this phone is midrange. I heard that it heats up very quickly as well. Help me to find which one to buy….
(Tell me if 17T has ads too).

Got a used phone for 12k in Oct 2026 !

Hi I have no plan to buy smartphone in 2026 , I was happily using my Infinix Note 50s but it got pick pocketed on Friday after returning from my Gurgaon office at Iffco chowk metro station in lift, someone just pickpocked my phone.

I got it after a lot of research in 2025 with my first stipend money.

It was a pure value for money, under 16k in 2025 , you get Mediatek Dimesnsity 7300 Ultimate 6GBram/128GB rom, 3D curved AMOLED DISPLAY 144Hz, 64MP rear cam Sony Sensor.

I was depressed for 2 weeks, can't eat sleep think properly I went into a depression type of thing, no excitement in life .

My phone is out of stock and new phones have got a price hike and the specs also get reduced, its not value for money deals.

So I started searching on OLX for the same model and luckily I got one after 2 weeks, I live in Rohini, New Delhi so yeah I got it on OLX, the phone was the same model everything good expect for the some minor dents and paint scraping, it has also 8Gb ram, so I just purchased it and using it.

Feeling a lot better after 2 weeks since my phone is lost although I still have memories of my phone, I hope I get it back somehow .

But one thing I feel is that I purchased a used phone (1yr) , I work in corporate where most of the people use Apple, and I am using old phone does that make a difference to my self esteem. .

I guess I have to make myself happy that's the priority ...

What you think guys????

OPPO Find X8 Pro at ₹55k or Vivo V70 Elite at ₹39k?

I’m confused between these two phones and need some honest advice.

OPPO Find X8 Pro: 16/512GB, used, ₹55,000, with around 10 months of warranty left.

Vivo V70 Elite: 8/256GB, demo unit, ₹39,000, with 1 year of warranty.

My main priorities are network reception, battery life, heating, display quality and long-term reliability. Camera quality is also important.

Is the X8 Pro worth spending ₹16k extra on, considering it’s used? Or would you choose the Vivo demo unit?

Which would you pick and why?

Poland Looking for a solid all-rounder between these

Im looking for a solid all-rounder phone - Good battery, solid camera (ideally with telephoto), decent system support, can handle less demanding games well (or more demanding on low settings eventually). Nothing necessarily spectacular in any range. A clean android - as clean as possible - would be preferable. So no abundant ads, excessive bloat, partner apps, "duplicate" apps etc, excessive telemetry. Or at the very least if these exist theyre easily opt out or removable

Ive narrowed it down to a bunch in my price range so help me choose the best from these (friend of a friend kinda deal, all of em around 500$)
Motorola Edge 70 MAX
Nothing Phone 3
Nothing Phone 4a Pro
Motorola Edge 70 Pro

Google Pixel 10 Any help would be appreciated

Samsung Galaxy S25 is indestructible

I have had mine for less than a year. But I have dropped it at least 6:00 to 8 times on pavement and hardwood floors without a case. The screen has stayed intact throughout all of that. But the real kicker was I dropped it in the toilet accidentally and it stayed submerged in water for 2 to 3 seconds and it works fine. The only problem I had was when the battery died I tried to charge it and a message popped up telling me to unplug my charger immediately and it had a picture of a water drop on my screen. I found out that was the safety feature not allow me to fry my phone. I then found out that I could bypass this feature with a cordless charger. So I purchased one and that was correct. Define works flawlessly. I cracked the window and let it dry out for about 12 hours and then tried my plug-in charger again later and it works fine now too. I know from experience that any other phone that I have owned I would have had to have repaired the screen at least twice and I would have had to have replaced it once it fell in the water. If I had to give any sort of deduction for this phone it would be to me it charges somewhat slow. But I believe that is actually because I have a cheap charger. In conclusion I highly recommend this to anyone that might be rough on their phone and it does not like a heavy phone because you don't need a case for it.

USD New Android Phone

Hey everyone,

I am a long time OnePlus techy user. So far I had the OnePlus 11 and really enjoyed it. I got a green line on my screen and am now looking for a new phone. I had my eye on the Oppo Find X10 Pro Max for a while but it's just way too expensive (2100 USD in my country). Seems like phone prices really went up in the last 1-2 years.

My usual phone choice is the OnePlus approach - clean OS, high performance, big battery, extremely fast charging, compromising for the camera. I am not willing to compromise for a big battery and fast charging, but am willing to accept not the best CPU for a bit of a better camera this time as long as the performance is good. Clean OS is important, but I didn't really have my hands on a non-clean Xiaomi-like OS for a while so maybe it got way better. I don't want to disqualify it without knowing for sure.

My budget is up to 1500 USD. Any recommendations?

Europe Best Android phone with a massive battery

I’m looking to replace my iPhone 15 because my experience with iPhone has been absolutely terrible.

I want to prioritize battery life and long-term performance. Could you please help me? My brother is in Europe right now and its a ubique opportunity for me to buy something not as expensive as it is in my country.

My requirements:

Battery: Ideally 10,000 mAh or more, but I’d consider 8,000+ mAh if its optimized to last long.

Performance: A fast processor that keeps Chrome, multitasking and everyday apps running smoothly. I hate lag.

Google Wallet: Absolutely essential. I need reliable NFC contactless payments.

Budget: $600–770 USD.

Gaming: Not important.

Camera: Not important.
I’ve been looking at the HONOR Power 2 and Realme P4 Power, but I’m concerned about Google Wallet compatibility on Chinese/Indian versions.

Thank you very much!
