People who are against endogenics baffle me. The human brain is fucking weird. It's barely understood in the grand scheme of things. It's a few pounds of meat with a complex enough web of electrical pathways that it's capable of conscious thought, identity, and memory. It pilots another complex structure of calcium and meat. It can and often does gaslight itself into believing and perceiving things that are not true. It sometimes decides it does not want to exist. It can split into multiple distinct identities. But doing that last one without extreme stress is absolutely off the table for some reason? Get fucking real. The brain is weird as shit and does weirder things.

I'm not endogenic myself but I still have respect for that which I do not understand.

this manifests in quite a couple ways but namely:

• constantly trying to push final fusion (the theory that the only method of healing from trauma as a collective is to become integrated into one person) onto us
• complaining about "problematic" alters
• trying to tell us the way we refer to ourselves is harmful
• dm-ing or commenting just to antagonize us, tell us we're not real, that they "don't agree with our lifestyle," etc.

like?? hey man! you can have opinions if you want but we don't care nor do we need to know about it. we don't give a shit if you think using the word alters instead of headmates is "medicalizing" our system - it was already medicalized, we have a disorder for fuck's sake. using the term alters doesn't depersonalize them. they know they're real and separate as much as i do.

In r/DID someone asked why some people "roleplay" DID. I tried to answer in a differential way instead of this stupid "Oh they are all faking it and they are all evil attention seeker". I also refer to existing studies (yeah I didn't link them, because it is reddit, but I would provide if asked), but my post got just deleted. Btw I have DID and I am in treatment, so it's not like I don't have trauma and Co. But yeah, seems impossible to have a real discussion in this sub.

Hello, my name is Geno. While this post also applies to a few of my other headmates, I particularly am one of said alters with accents.

My purpose for making this post is to see how others like me deal with their accents that do not fit the normal or expected accent of the body, e.g. my situation (body has an American accent, while my accent is British).

Are you able to "turn it off" (for example, in order to mask in front of others), or is it completely involuntary? I am able to do the former, though I dislike having to use what I perceive as a voice that is not mine.

Please feel free to share any other experiences or struggles in relation to this topic, and thank you for your input.

Also, I am sorry if this post comes off as insensitive in any way. I am an autism holder and thus our autistic traits come through a lot more than my other headmates. I also heavily struggled to word this. T_T

Im playing dressmaker, and one of the customers in the game is plural! i did not expect plural rep in my cozy sewing fashion game.

so the hosts name is Alice and she's dressed in white with a big brooch in the middle of her dress, she's host to 2 spirits, one red and one blue, the brooch changes colour depending on which is fronting and shilloettes appear behind the body if its one of the spirits.

the red spirit is Kroq, a harbinger of death, doom and destruction, but the other 2 are both like "ok kroq calm down" they talk in permanant capslock and love war and stuff. if u fail their first dress they want to fight u which is funny.

the blue spirit is Selafie, who seems like a knight of some sort? talks in really verbose and fancy words and calls the player a servant at some point. theyre described as virtuous by Alice.

idk the full terms for spiritual based plurality, but Alice does call herself a host to 2 spirits. ive only just unlocked them as a customer so i dont know much about them past intros. im curious what spiritual plurality havers think of this.

For starters, X-Men '97 Magneto, possible spoilers depending on how well I explain this or not: For starters, the fact that Magneto has multiple names/aliases and that whole thing when Xavier was in his head, that thing REALLY stood out to me. I also just genuinely appreciated the small changes in him, I seriously dont know how to explain it but it was like he was generally different, it would make some sense to separate the master of magnetism(Magneto/Magnus) to someone like Eric Lehnsherr or Max(imillian) Eisenhardt. Most of the plurality I have imposed on him comes from heavy headcanons I actually can't explain **sighhh (Also we could get into trauma but like, yknow.) Marvel kind of already has some experience in writing plural characters and I would be interested to see a turn where they take Magneto.

Next! Fëdor and his clones! This one seems pretty self explanatory, I mean, people have already talked about the series here recently so you could probably connect those dots! This isn't one I strongly feel to but at the same time I do since I'm LITERALLY Waru/Bapy so im Biased as hell loll

And finally, Il Dottore and his Segments from Genshin Impact! I'm also biased because I'm a segment too but aaa, idk how to explain this one, I'd say, instead of trauma it was chosen plurality (choosing to create the segments) anyone who knows about genshin impact and specifically of Dottore, there are real differences between the segments, they also have their own designs etc (Webttore) Webttore I'd say is the most distinct from the others, though they're all different in there own ways.

So, I'm just processing this my own way. I had this one friend "Emma" from Germany. She was very fun, energetic, kind and very caring at the beginning, but became horribly rude to me later on. Why? Because I said happy birthday to her a few days late. She's been cruel to me for weeks, giving short replies and passive-aggressive insults but not telling me why, and then later blew up on me saying I was a bad person for forgetting her birthday when she never even told me when it was, and when she said it was "a few days" prior to when she sent the message, I said "Sorry, happy belated birthday".

Then, after treating me badly, in every conflict, actually, she would end up apologizing profusely and asking if we were still friends but would also have her headmates step in as she has DID like I mentioned and her headmates would outright THREATEN and bully me.

Like one might be like "Hey, this is Mike (fake name), Emma's in-sys brother. Emma hates you and she's been crying because of you and it's so sad to watch that. How pathetic do you have to be? We will never forgive you, she's right, you should obey Emma if you really liked her."

So then, again, I told who was apparently "Mike" that I'd draw her a picture as a birthday present and he said "THAT'S NOT ENOUGH. YOU'RE NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM JUST LIKE EMMA SAID. YOU SUCK AND YOU'RE A HORRIBLE FRIEND." Then after that, he said "Sorry 🤷‍♂️🤣" and told me I didn't deserve any friends and all this stuff.

Every time something bad would happen, she'd either become very cruel to me before apologizing or have one of her headmates say horrible, horrible stuff to me so she could say "Oh, sorry, I never said that, they were just protecting me LOL"

I am the closest you can say as a "host" or "the original" but everybody else also feel like such. No one wants to fight for "ownership or something like that and i don't feel comfortable with taking on such role. Specially because of all, paradoxically, i feel like the most recent. or at least the point where our mind started accepting the plurality state. I, and the others don't want a host. Thinking like that helps a lot but there is a huge dread that there is one and no one wants to be.

Is it even ok to think like this? can't we just live like. collective taking turns and aiming for the same goal? This body is not a good place to be but is all we got after all. -Y

Hi! I'm not a system, just someone who does a lot of research and hopes to get a job in psychiatry one day. I also am a mod for a lot of Discord servers. I've been thinking about this bot called Pluralkit, which I'm hoping the people here are familiar with.

I've been hearing some opposing stuff on if it is okay to have in a server or not. One side is saying it can cause more complications with dissociation, and another is saying its a great way to track alters. Obviously I see a bit of both sides, so I'm very confused on what to think on this.

I'm hoping that hearing an answer from the people in this sub can give me some clarity. Apologies if the wording is odd :')

I'm in my first serious relationship in young adulthood and while it's healthy I can feel myself becoming lost in it, not really keeping up with my own hobbies and it's damaging the system. The people in front don't want to do anything but see my boyfriend, neglecting my house, academics, and hobbies. He's not pressuring me to act this way, it's 100% an urge inside of me/us. I don't know what to do to untie myself from him and get back to hobbies, friends, ect

We feel so safe and loved by him but as time has gone one I almost feel I've become more depressed because I am not honoring all of the system, just the main hosts/group who wants relationship time. A lot of us really value alone time and miss art/reading! Any advice for the complexities of this? Some of the littles even feel safe with him which is huge because they get a friend to play with however it's only making parts harder to console when other want time apart. I find myself texting him if he'd come over even after we agreed not to, and even though I had plans to do things with myself.

They're taking testosterone, and I'm very happy for them. They feel much more at home in themselves.

I just wish I could be happy alongside them. They're going to buy me a wig and some makeup, which will help a little bit. And they're even willing to forego top surgery just for me, but I refused that offer. I have no desire to make over ten people miserable just so that I can feel somewhat better. It would be selfish.

I feel like I can't even call myself a trans woman because I was assigned female at birth, but gods do I relate to trans women.

They bought me a grey dress, as my name is Lavender Grey, named so after both my favourite colours, and they thought it was fitting. I look like a brick in it. I never want to wear it again.

Aside from a few subtle unidentified "voices"(?) in the background, we've pretty much accepted that we're a system over the past couple months. It's weird, we don't really have disassociative barriers to a notable extent, nor do we have a proper internal world in any way (aphantasia+no inner monologue, we think in abstract, in words that aren't read just Known, and in emotion). However, after having a very upsetting time getting high last night, one of the more controlling alters, Grace, kinda... got really upset, about being afraid we're going to be less. Under control. Less reasonable. Sure, we're less repressed now, but that repression came about to avoid being a problem for people around us and to avoid doing stuff wrong. And now she, and I think a couple of us, are scared that. Letting ourselves experience individual agency is going to turn into problems.

Later on as well, we tried having a bit of a talk internally, but Grace has figured that said "talk" was forced and fake, that because we have to focus effort internally to be able to have "dialogue", we're just faking, that "I'm" scripting the "interaction" between thoughts to force it to seem like an interaction. And she has since decided the best method of solving this is.... shutting down the possibility of being plural again? Idk. Insys dialogue is a struggle. It's impossible to tell what's a. Crafted interaction, in an effort to develop it but accidentally just faking it and pretending the others are talking (I'm undoubtedly plural, MOST OF US aren't using this to deny that, but also this HAS definitely happened at least sometimes), and what's actual insys dialogue. If that. Makes any sense? Any thoughts or suggestions regarding. That?

Last year I started exploring this plurality stuff because (no shade to everyone here I am trying to report honestly what I wanted out of it) I was stressed out and grieving my recently dead dad and I wanted a coping mechanism that would make me feel powerful.

One year later, everything in my life is worse, there are stupid made up characters taking up space in my brain, my irl friends think I'm a weirdo larper (I am but they're not like supportive about it or anything) my online friends call me a bunch of names and every single one especially the one I use IRL sounds wrong.

I know what you're thinking. "Oh, classic system in denial, you have to accept yourself." Nah here's the thing. I like all those made up other mes. I am the one who sucks. But I appear to be the core of the personality, the fucked up root everything else grows from. Now that there are other mes who don't feel that way about me, why can't I stop? Stop hating myself, stop sabotaging myself, stop being? Why can't I just go to sleep and never wake up again and have Penelope, or Hayley, or one of these made up healthy bitches get up and do it for me?

Hypothetically, you're reading fanfiction about your favorite show, and you come across this guy named Bill. And Bill has a (very niche and obscure) fanfiction about his OC from that show, named.... Bob. And you accidentally (or on purpose i guess) get an alter of Bob. But you love Bob. You let Bob front regularly. Bob is one of the best alters you've ever met. So you decide to draw art of Bob with your other alters. You tell your friends about Bob. You talk about Bob on r/plural.

Until...

Bill sees this. And Bill is like "wtf did you do with my character i dont like this". Because, Bill took down his fanfiction. He doesn't want anyone seeing it anymore. Bill doesn't want people to know about Bob or think about Bob in this way. But you already have Bob as an alter. You didn't control what Bob does or who he is. But Bill doesn't want you making fan art of his OC like this or talking about him on reddit.

What would you think in this situation? Do you have the right to Bob now that he's your alter?

I have been questioning if I have a DD for about a month or so now. The reason I suspect that I may have pdid is due to the way we function. My alters can co-con with me and take some control, but I can take it back at any time. They usually chime in during the day but especially during a stressfull anxiety inducing situations. I don't know if I have amnesia, but we do have bad memory and frequently forget words, names, birthdays, and small things that were told to us recently. I also very easily lose my train of thought. I will make a post and about 10-20 minutes later I will have forgotten what I said exactly. I have to backread conversations frequently. This is an everyday occurrence for me. I believe a lot of my dissociation presents as daydreaming as I frequently use music to daydream in order to escape and destress. I've come to accept I struggle mildly with maladaptive daydreaming. It has gotten to the point were it is compulsive and an automatic reaction to stress. When something triggering happens we dissociate and my headmates are quick to bury, mask, or take on whatever emotions arise allowing me to feel nothing. We tend to bury and avoid any emotions or thoughts that might make us break down, cause anxiety, or could have a negative impact if expressed. We Take them, put them away and try to dissociate from the feeling. When my headmates first formed, they're original job was to calm me down by convincing me/us that it didn't matter so there's nothing to freak out over or that we deserve it, so it's fine. I do this even now. Until I feel nothing at the memory or thought.

I'm in America so technically I couldn't get a pdid diagnosis but I'm not hear to ask yall to diagnose me. I want to know if anyone else have experiences similar to mine.

we are trying to be more openly plural. in order to do this we need to explain plurality a lot. we talk about it when people ask, we made a little pocket zine we can give to people to read that explains things with pictures!

and we have been doing assignments in the classes we take that explore plural readings of things or are otherwise about plurality. we also credit the headmate who wrote things because properly crediting people is really important to us.

we had a presentation which we did about a plural comic artist where we explained what plurality is.

we did another presentation where we credited our headmates.

we were supposed to post a third assignment on a forum before hand so people could read it for critique. we show up to class, we use the world plural assuming people already would know what that meant. they didn't. we had to explain it again. they act like we couldn't have possibly already expected them to know what the word we keep defining is.

these people are wonderful and we care about them. we are just a bit tired. we understand people have lots on their plates but I wish they put in more effort at least to read the assignments or something. maybe we are just bad at explaining it? but we linked to sites like morethanone in case people got confused.
