With the return, what are the general best practices? I personally have missed the last Eternatus event(s) and will be securing mine this time around. Any tips, advice, general comments? Do you guys think Scopely is going to paywall it into the ground? How are we feeling!?!?

While chilling on my room decided to go through some old screenshots on my phone last night and found a bunch from when I first started playing Pokémon GO. And honestly, it made me a little sad. I remember when seeing a random Pokémon I hadn't caught before was genuinely exciting. I'd take the longer route home just to check a spawn, or randomly go outside because someone mentioned something rare nearby.

Now I open the game and somehow feel like I'm already behind. There's always another timed research task, another event, another ticket, another thing I'm apparently supposed to finish before it disappears forever.And don't even get me started on how often the game makes something feel special just to lock half the experience behind another purchase.

The weirdest part is that I still love Pokémon GO. That's probably why it annoys me so much.I don't mind grinding for something rare. I actually enjoy having goals. But there's a difference between playing a game because you're excited and playing because you're afraid of missing something. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just getting older and the nostalgia is messing with me, or if the game genuinely lost some of what made it special. Maybe the people who still play casually have figured out something I haven't.

I barely do any raids and catching rarities isn't that common for me. I do walk though, one of my favourite activities. Ever since becoming unemployed I've walked a lot to try to stay somewhat productive during the day (aside from house chores). The numbers just kept going up from week to week, from 100km a week to 150km, now I usually average around 230km a week in PoGo. This week was a little crazier though. Doubt I'll ever beat this again lol.

I think it's time to slow it down a bit.

I completed 6 Sableye Max Battles today for Max Monday (and that sweet, sweet Rare Candy XL). 4 of them had the exact same stats of 15 Attack, 13 Defense, 15 HP. What are the odds?

I just saw a visual for the Go Wild Global event and honestly - WHAT ON EARTH. There is not one new spawn. Every spawn has been in multiple shiny-boosted events. Some are in almost ALL shiny-boosted events!? Deino? COME ON. It’s just had its second community day and it’s literally in every stinking event. If I see another shiny Deino I might actually cry.

Why do they keep doing this? There’s so many pokemon that they could be spawning instead but they opt for the ones we’re sick to death of seeing. I can think of at least 10 non-mythical or legendary pokemon from Gen 1 that I’d rather was spawning than this line up.

What is that random shiny Pokémon that you just keep getting for some reason? And I'm not talking about community days, I mean just every once in a while you find it and go "another one???" Mine is Cherubi. For some reason I've found a lot of shiny Cherubi's!

This will be my first GO Wild Area. Any advice on how to approach it would be appreciated. Any items i should start stacking up on that will be helpful during the event? Thanks in advance

Like is there an actual point to the pokemon sizes other than for showcases? Should I be keeping them or is it a whatever type deal?

This is a personal opinion and question. Is the Dynamax Sableye worthwhile?
I used a max mushroom and solo defeated 3 max gyms in a row. However I’m questioning this since dmax Sableye is not a great Pokemon.

Wasn’t serious back then, still not serious now. I remember I was reluctant with gym battles which may explain why I didnt bother with a team.

I have been after this shiny for so long, and when he was last in an event where you could get 10 encounters a day, I didn’t get him. So when they allegedly changed his shiny to no longer be locked behind events, I went back to daily snapshots (stopped because I had everything but the shiny).

I was always sceptical about whether he was actually attainable outside of events as well so for any others like me, here’s some confirmation

Like the title asks, is there a point to catching a Dynamax Shuckle? Does it have a special use? I was under the impression that like smeargle it was useless for fighting.

Do you still use the Go Plus + following the release of the Explorer Gadget, and have you noticed any performance differences between them?
