The Legend as Born

So close to the top 100 now. Today we lost Capcom vs SNK 2, Prince of Persia the Warrior Within, SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom, Mortal Kombat Deception, and Grand Theft Auto Vice City. I didn’t expect all three GTA games to be out so early on, but that’s how the votes turned out. Here’s the strawpoll https://strawpoll.com/kogjRpzR3g6, and remember that you can post your opinions in the comments too.

Solo es una pregunta que me hice yo hace algun tiempo.

I’ve had these in my collection for years 🤩

I sleeved the copy I got (here’s some more photos) I wanna get it graded but for time being what’s the best way to preserve it? just a lil sleeve like this?

En español por favor!

PS2 Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King online co-op is back in 2026!

Thanks to Adam u/HikikoMarmy who also revived the PS2 Champions of Norrath and Return to Arms games, the multiplayer works again after more than a decade. I tested it on PCSX2 but haven’t tried it on original hardware with another player yet.

Requirements:

- Your original disc (this is for people who own the game)

- A DNAS bypass (Sony’s old authentication check). Common methods are a CHT file, a PNACH file for PCSX2, or a patched ISO.

To connect: Set DNS to 67.222.156.250

From Gameplay perspective, Story and etc

I remember the first time this happened to me...I put in my bully disc and was ready to play then it took me to this screen and I got so scared at the time I don't know why because as an adult it's not so bad anymore!

Today is the 26th anniversary of the ps2 and as y’all can see, mine is in amazing condition. It was sold 150 million units worldwide and it was insane how popular this machine was and it pushed its way to become the best selling console of all time 😎. And I swear after all these years I love this thing SO MUCH! And the holds a special place in my heart how awesome this thing is.

Hell Yeah!

Man, it almost seems like it was only yesterday when I bough 🥹

Hey all, I just got a PS2 and I’m really looking forward to experiencing it AND the PS1’s library but I’m just curious what some of the actual must plays are? Sonys been pretty good with remastering and remaking their old games but I know these aren’t all perfect but a lot of them are a LOT cheaper than their original versions (looking at you silent hill 2). Im just curious which games are the best and also worth playing over the remakes and vice versa. Let me know what you think!

I have over 100 games but my girlfriend insisted I need to get mr mosquito lol

One of the best games for the PS2. It's second for me first will always be Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 but this is still an amazing, classic game that's deserving of all the praise it gets! Truly a game that deserves a remaster!

I remember getting this 10 years for 20€ ago and looking forward to play it.

So, I wanted to play some Arc the Lad, but my TV has no component/AV input so I got a converter. But, the entire thing is displaying in black and white? Anyone know why?

My console is an NTSC slim, and ive included a picture of the converter and the TV is a Samsung U8000H series.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Had to bring her out of retirement. Had this thing since I was in 4th grade.

Tony Hawk's Underground & WWE SmackDown! Here Comes The Pain were released in North America 23 years ago

I now spend my Saturday streams playing games that are still in progress or were never actually finished properly. So, being able to tick three more off that list is amazing!

Game #103 - The Sims - Beaten!

Yup, the console version of The Sims has a story mode. They call it "Get a Life," and the aim is to finally move out of your mum's house, all the way to retirement, with so much in between—such as a family and kids. This game is no joke, though; I found it to be ridiculously tough, which is why it's taken so long to beat. But seeing that final cutscene and watching the credits roll was amazingly satisfying!

Game #73 - Arcade USA - Beaten!

This was something I thought was just a "play once and put aside" title. Well, many years later, I was told there are actually credits for it, so I made sure to replay it properly. This game is super tough. There were moments where keeping up with the AI in the air hockey game got so insane that I worried I was never going to beat the final opponent, Ed, but I did! After that, I moved onto bowling, which was much easier... until I reached Ed again and the game itself was against me. The arrow in the final match is off-centre or something, so trying to aim became stupidly hard. I think it was on my 30+ attempt that I was finally able to beat Ed at bowling and get the credits!

Game #142 - Super Bust-A-Move - Beaten!

Now, this is basically Puzzle Bobble, but renamed for the PAL region. This was another one that, for one reason or another, I just never finished properly. But I was able to focus plenty of time on this, get through to the end, and get those beautiful credits! Some puzzles were tough, and I really had to attempt a few of them multiple times... but in the end, it was just a fun, cozy time!

I've been doing this now in my spare time for over 12 years, so some games either get put aside or I just forget about them. I'm glad I can get back to these titles, bring down the "in progress" count, move forward with new titles, and keep aiming towards the goal of beating every single PS2 game!

Using a USB on a SCPH-70005 from japan. Used mechapwn via freemcboot and attempted to run a ISO via OPL. This is what happens. Tried with different ISOs in the DVD folder and they all do this. Games in a normal disc do fine.

I'm in the middle of moving to a new place and was going through my existing collection, I had grabbed this game at a garage sale as a bulk deal. Knowing that it was somewhat "rare" I hung on to it.

Fired it up and instantly loved the mood, the graphics, Frank's voice, the violence -- Thomas Jane is my favorite Punisher -- so only seemed fair to play this game, which loosely ties in his arc.

Going back to the days of good voice overs, music, atmosphere, it's pretty uncommon that games are made like this anymore. Sometimes they're just as simple shoot em ups and that's awesome.

What I didn't like was the aiming when zoomed in felt so wonky, it took getting used to. Also, it feels like aiming was super inconsistent.

Health is another thing that can quickly disappear if you aren't being mindful, taking enemies hostage and then interrogating does help. The last boss battle (no spoilers) was pretty tough given the random spawning of enemies... having random health pick ups would have been ideal.

Great game, lot of missions, guns, bloody good time.
