Parking Passes
Preface this by saying I know rule 8 is no selling or buying, and that is not my intention here, just looking for advice.
I have season tickets and a garden garage parking pass. I also have a 7 day old baby and do not plan to attend many games this season. Ill be giving tickets to friends and selling on TM, thats easy. But the garden garage pass I cant sell on TM with the tickets, so i was wondering if any other season ticket holder or people know a way or place to sell garage passes for individual games? I am just hoping to recoup some of the money i spent on it, didn't want to cancel it bc there is a waitlist to get GG passes(or there used to be) and would to have it in the future.
So just curious if anyone has any suggestions or knows of any groups that buy and sell tickets that I could look at for selling parking. Thanks!
Deep Player Profiles for the Blazers
I watch a lot of Blazers ball, but I realized I dont have the time or energy to actually go deep into the stories, histories, upbringing, and scout reports on each player.
For example, I wanted to know more about Branden Carlson, a 7ft 27-year-old who has had a particularly long road to the NBA. What do the Blazers see in him? What does the rest of the league see in him? What does he see in himself? These are questions I wanted to answer.
So I set out to aggregate as much information that I could from major outlets (Sports Illustrated, ESPN, etc) as well as much smaller outlets (Blazers Edge has done a good job here, but also the University of Utah /Crimson club Q&A where he played, which helps give a much deeper account of how he sees his own life and goals, that i couldn't find elsewhere)
I put together these player profiles for every single player in the NBA. I hope you find it useful.
Here are just a few:
Yang Hansen: https://readthegame.com/player/yang-hansen-1642905
Scoot: https://readthegame.com/player/scoot-henderson-1630703
Sidy: https://readthegame.com/player/sidy-cissoko-1631321
Vit: https://readthegame.com/player/vit-krejci-1630249
Micah Potter: https://readthegame.com/player/micah-potter-1630695

Would love your feedback y'all, thanks!

Pregame show on blazervision?
Just like the title says. Does anyone know if itâs possible to watch the pregame show on blazervision? I saw something about it being device specific but I canât find it. I know buying an antenna is an option, just rather not if I donât have to.

saw this on IG... how many out of these 10 are we winning?
ranked #1 on a list of hardest stretches of regular season games this year for all teams. OKC back to back even at home is rough but if i recall i think we beat them both games in the same situation last year. just a murderous november for us though but this team has proven itself pretty well already

Love what weâre seeing from Nori so far
Iâm really impressed with Micah Noriâs rotations, seems like heâs saving Deniâs legs for when we need them. It was a rough first half in Sacramento, but the offense went through Deni in the second half and we instantly improved immensely.
Noriâs goal is clearly to win games over ANYTHING else, and thatâs something this team desperately needed from our coach for a long time.

Here's why the Blazers will win - analyzing the Lakers.
Okay, so I've watched every possesion of this Lakers- Jazz game so far and a bit of the previous games, and here are reasons and ways the blazers will win against the lakers.
Luka can't guard. Luka has given up about 6 points in the first few minutes of the jazz game to ace bailey just getting offensive rebounds and putbacks while he's daydreaming in the corner. Luka also can't guard on ball. They literally run past him into the paint and he reacts way, way too slowly. Now imagine having that big of a weakness against an offense that includes Ja Morant, Damian Lillard and Deni Avdija - fun fact: Dame averages 71 points on 83% true shooting per 75 possesions in possesions against luka in the last 3 years. That's absurdly high.
Transition offense. The Lakers are one of the worst teams I've seen defending in transition. In one possesion, kessler just strolls back slowly as Jaxson hayes gets a free dunk running to the rim. You can imagine that exact play but with ja passing to a running RWIII. Also, Reaves is a terrible on ball defender. He's lazy, slow and barely tries to defend. If you can get either deni, dame, ja, jrue or scoot to be guarded by him, you get a very easy shot.
Offensive glass. The Lakers are lazy on the glass. They give up a lot of offensive rebounds, and it doesn't helo them that the blazers are one of the best teams in the league at it. Sometimes luka just forgets his man on the glass and they're also pretty bad rotating after giving up the board. You can hunt mamu or kessler after an offensive board and find toumani, dame, deni or ja open for three.
What we shouldn't do:
ISO ball. That's the best way to let luka and reaves rest on defense and kill momentum. You want as much ball movement as possible, and you want to make reaves and luka defend as much as possible, they're bad at it.
This is hard, but fouling. Fouling the lakers is the easiest way to bail them out. You need to manage your agressiveness when guarding luka or reaves, and make them shoot their fadeaway jumpers. They'll hit some, but that's so much better than free throws which the lakers live off.
That's it for me, very excited to watch the game, thank you for reading! Go Blazers!

Norm Macdonald in Blazers Gear
From the very well done Netflix Documentary...
Ja Morant is playing winning basketball
Two stats: 24mpg, 13ppg. Not remotely All Star numbers, let alone potential MVP numbers from his high water mark.
Two more stats: 11 assists per 36, .594 ts%.
His prior highs were 10 and .575, and most of his career he spent around 8/.560.
Obviously it's an incredibly small sample size with just two games, and one a blowout, but he really is answering the question of whether he can be a winning point guard playing below the rim and beside another point guard.
He's not dunking and he's not dominating the ball. He is hustling hard on defense and mostly taking wide open threes and relatively low health risk floaters at the rim.
I really think his play style reflects the reality of having had Derek Rose and now Dame and Jrue as teammates. Rose taught him that you don't take your athleticism for granted. Dame has taught him to commit to modifying your game by playing off ball when needed, and deferring to Deni as our offensive engine. Jrue has proven that guards who impact defensively always have a role. Both Dame and Rose have proven that the health of small players isn't guaranteed, and if you don't take it seriously you will be out of the game.
I really like where this is headed with Ja. After last year I have no illusions about injuries among our point guards. At some point he's probably going to be asked to play more minutes, but given our talent I think he can continue to be effective with this style at a larger scale.

Yang Spotted at Happy Lamb
Went to Happy Lamb in Beaverton tonight and saw our friendly giant. Gave him a fist bump and told him good luck this year, he said thanks. So when he moves into a key roll of our offense, everyone can thank me.
No Reset
Watching Portland so far this year, I'm not at all surprised by the result that we're seeing. I'm a bit more surprised that other people seem to have slept on the concept of Ja Morant and Damian Lillard in this backcourt, paired with the front court that got us to the playoffs last year.
Of course, it's perfectly reasonable to question how many games we can expect to get out of Morant and Lillard. But given the depth that we have at their positions, I'm honestly not too worried about being able to get to the playoffs and make a run in which Morant and Lillard can play key roles. Considering we had neither of those guys last year, and considering we have Jrue and Scoot off the bench (either of whom could easily be starting), I'm really not worried.
So it's very surprising to me that so few people saw what this team could be, besides Joe Cronin.
Because the basketball player, Ja Morantâthe guy that you get when Ja Morant, the basketball player, is on the courtâ is the basketball savant. When Zac Edey went to Memphis, ge was about 20 times better a basketball player when Ja Morant was on the court. Morant's feel for the game and ability to deliver playable passes off the pick and roll,l and break, particularly lobs (but also, bullet passes when needed), is as good as you're ever going to see in this game, in this sport.
The only other guards I can think of who are playing in this league right now, and who can pass and see the court like Morant, are Luca and Kyrie. Of course, we can also mention Joker and LeBron as having the same level of court vision and passing ability, but they're not guards. And to my mind, the "S-tier court vision and passing" list ends there, the Halliburtons and Draymonds and Trae Youngs of the world notwithstanding.
Of course, that is in no way a slight on the name of Damian Lillard. But I think we all know that what makes Dame, Dame, is S-tier perimeter shooting, combined with A-tier everything else. And this subtle distinction is what makes the combination of dame with Ja such a genius move by Joe Cronin. You have now combined an S-tier shooter with an S-tier playmaker in the same backcourt, which is something that I'm struggling to recall when the league has actually ever seen it.
We could go down the rabbit hole of trying to find comps to this particular lineup. Immediately, pairings like Nash and HornaÄek, Steph and Clay, Kyrie and LeBron, pop up. But comps aren't really that useful. For one thing, this Blazers team hasn't done anything yet, so comps to championship winning teams are gonna ring hollow. For another thing, the point of this post isn't really to highlight just the backcourt. The point here is to talk about why this backcourt pairs so well with a front court of Toumani, Donovan, and Denny.
Portland has created a nightmare scenario for opposing defenses. I am going to call this the "no reset" philosophy. On the defensive end, you have Camara and Clingan generating fast breaks. Then, on the offensive end, you have to accout for Dame and Ja at all times. Damien can score from literally anywhere on the court, so now, on every break, you have to locate Dame. Meanwhile, Ja will find any hole that you left in your coverage, making any player on the Blazers into a scoring threat. And if your strategy to account for everyone is to play zone, then here comes Denny Avdija straight at your front court, and he doesn't give a single fuck.
I mean, it's frankly terrifying. You are not gonna have a chance to reset your defense. Not ever. You're going to live in constant fear. And as the game wears on, it's just gonna get worse, because you don't have to have ever watched basketball to know when Dame Time is.
"No Reset" can carry on just fine when rotations come. Now you have dogs like Scoot Henderson and NBA champion Jrue Holiday coming off the bench. You have Rob Williams, who could frankly be starting on any NBA team and probably make them better. You have Cidy Cissoko, a second-generation pro basketball player, whose parents clearly taught this man how to properly approach being a professional basketball player with hustle, tenacity, and spirit. Did you know that Sissoko is only 6' 6", 220 lbs.? I certainly didn't, because he plays like 6' 9", 250 lbs. And at some point this year, you're going to get to add Shaedon Sharpe into this lineup, who is still only 23 and averaging 20 points a game.
Combine that with a pretty respectable rest of the bench, and quite honestly, and I really hesitate to say this, but, this really, really could be... nah, fuck it, I'm not gonna say. I'm not gonna curse us. But yeah, trailblazer players are reading this, place for the love of God, take your vitamin D supplements, do the light therapy, S.A.D. is a real fucking thing. And remember, you, Trailblazers, for many of us, are the lights at the end of a dark and wintry tunnel. Portland needs this the worst way. Stay healthy, my friends.

Lakers game on Blazervision?
A couple days without a game has me looking ahead to Tuesday - and I see that itâs on BezosTV. Anybody know if weâll still be able watch through BlazerVision or do I have to bite the bullet and get an Amazon membership? The only info I can find online is âAll Trail Blazers games, besides nationally televised exclusives, are available live and on-demand through BlazerVision.â - and I donât know if this counts as a ânationally televised exclusiveâ.

New theme nights?
Out of curiosity, what's the deal with these new theme nights? Hello Kitty and Harry Potter? I've only been living close enough to see in person games for a few years, so it could just be new to me, but it seems... Weird?

Ja Morant, Damian Lillard and a scene the Trail Blazers hope defines their season
Interesting Quick article. Hopefully a good sign of things to come for Nori and his relationship with the team!

Damian Lillard has a chance to become just the fourth NBA player to reach a career free throw shooting percentage of 90.0% or better â and it could happen this year
- He is currently 4th on the all time leaderboard for free throw shooting percentage, behind only Steph Curry, Steve Nash and Mark Price â all three of whom have percentages above 90%.
- He is currently sitting at 89.9164% (5270 made out of 5861 attempts)
- He would reach 90% by making his next 49 consecutive free throws
- Assuming he attempts 400 free throws this year, he needs to shoot 91.25% on the season (making 365) to reach a career percentage of 90%
- 365 made free throws on the year would place him above Hakeem Olajuwon and up to 29th on the NBA leaderboard for total made free throws (34th on combined NBA and ABA leaderboard)

It's like Blazerville, man.
I've been cleaning out my dad's place after his passing earlier this year and found an old scrapbook I made as a kid with all sorts of ticket stubs and newspaper articles about the Blazers from the early nineties. I found this little curiosity packed in with all the other stuffâprinted on about a 14"x11" piece of paper. I can't remember precisely what it's from, but my sister's and my best guess is that it was something from Burgerville, maybe a tray placemat?Â
The design and the phrase are so early nineties. Surely one of the most Portland stoner-y slogans you could create for the Blazers of that era.
Now my wife and I can't stop saying it. It can be used as a positive, negative, or simply neutral statement.
Dame is back and shooting like he never left as we torched the Suns in the best season opener in Blazer history? That's like Blazerville, man!
Shae injured in the offseason and expected to miss six months? Also, that's like Blazerville, man.
Nike puts Ja Morant dunking on the old White Stag sign? Like Blazerville, man.
I love it so much that I was compelled to make a new account name and share with the r/ripcity community. If anyone knows the actual history of this awesome scrap of paper and phrase, please let me know. I'll also try to share some other awesome relics from my old scrapbook of the Adelman, Drexler, Porter, Duckworth, Kersey, and Buck era. Bingo. Bango. Bongo. Like Blazerville, man.
