O’Nien put in a proper shift against Leeds. 16 clearances, including 11 headers, shows just how much he was putting himself about for the team. He might not always get the headlines, but you can’t question his effort or commitment in a Sunderland shirt.

Several changes are expected for both teams but fan favourite set to start for the Black Cats. Agree with the predicted lineups?

Is anyone taking the punt at getting tickets in the Milan end for this fixture? (I’ve heard UK passport holders will be rejected) - I’m assuming getting ahold of an away ticket is near impossible for non season ticket holders and will sell like bottled water in the desert. I’ve booked a week in Milan from the 6th to the 13th December and would love a ticket but will go regardless to enjoy the occasion. Season ticket holders deserve their chance at tickets but I do think we should have been given at least 8,000 allocation.

Stadium of Light, 27 October 2013, and Gus Poyet's Sunderland beat Alan Pardew's Newcastle 2-1, a Wear-Tyne derby that opens their league account and lifts them off the bottom.

Can you name the starters?

This Sunderland Lad was watching the Torenese match while recording his gaming podcast, couldn't keep it in when sadiki scored!

I am a proud Mackem today, what a game the lads had, I know is not the result we wanted but I see that the mentality has completely changed. You might not agree with me but I know the positive results will start to come. Ha’way the lads!!!

Yes, we were poor. But at least we were away from home, down to ten, and with zero £50m players on the pitch…

Great to see pre match that it looks like we're staying with at least two wide admittedly one is rigg and not a real winger.

However what has talbi done? Not much rumours have came out of the club either

When Mukiele was injured and treated he had to go off the pitch for a minute. Leeds defender takes out Leeds keeper, both get significant treatment yet the defender and another player weren't required to sit out for a minute

If the other two bottom half games draw today, a win would still leave us in the relegation zone.

Would a Newcastle and Man U win be favourable for us in the short term, pull us out of the bottom 3 with a win over Leeds? Would that give us more confidence going into Coventry?

Things have been frustrating lately, and a win against Leeds could make a massive difference for us. We really need to start picking up points before the gap gets any bigger. Playing at the SoL gives us a good chance, but the lads need to come out with energy and be more clinical in front of goal. We can't afford to give Leeds too much space or let them settle into the game early. A strong start and a bit more confidence on the ball could go a long way. The fans will do their part, as always, and the atmosphere should be brilliant if we give them something to get behind. Three points here would lift the mood and give us something positive to build on.

A couple of quick questions: how are you feeling about Sunday’s match against Leeds? And what kind of priority will the EFL Cup have this season?

7 points from 9 in Europe. A draw at Poznan. Would have been delighted with that when the fixtures came out.

Much improved performance as well, if disappointing not to get that second goal.

Watching Danso play is giving me major Titus Bramble vibes, anyone else agree?

I don’t want to come on here and make my first post a negative one for the sake of it, but it has to be said after tonight’s match that our chance conversion during the entirety of RLB’s time has been shocking. We have scored more than 2 goals in a game a total of 9 times since he joined, 4 of which were during the first 2 months in the championship season. We just don’t score enough. I won’t place the whole blame on RLB as the players need to be better in front of goal but its also clear his tactics don’t allow for a lot of clear-cut chance creation. Why is this such an issue?

Think ballard still out, could swap Danso for onien.

Would prefer to see le fee rested for Sunday and some mins for diarra.

No point rushing brobbey or Wilson back.

Can methalie play centre half?
