I've noticed that quite a lot of scooter riders in my neighborhood just pop their helmets on and then don't bother to strap their helmets on. If you have a helmet like that, and don't strap it on, that makes it not actually a helmet. A helmet with no strap holding it on is just a hat. It won't protect you even slightly in the event of a crash. It'll just fall off and you'll get to enjoy your crash with a naked head.
It's not worth being cool and not strapping your helmet on. Wear your helmet properly. For your own sake.

Rode my Beverly 350 maxi-scooter into the city today. On the way in a guy on an 125 with L plates pulled along side and said “you need L plates to ride that”. I explained I don’t as I’ve got a full A licence. His reply… “why the fuck your riding a moped then? Get a proper fucking bike”. And off he went.
I didn’t want to burst his bubble so didn’t zoom off ahead of him. I just went slow until he was gone.
On the way back I pulled alongside a guy on a really nice Bergman 400 (I think). He gave me a big thumbs up and said “nice scooter”. Before I could reply the lights changed and he was off.
Draw your own conclusions from these two encounters!

Ive had my forza for over a year and I’ve been wanting a phone mount, but I cannot figure out where to put it. I can’t mount it to the side mirror, nowhere on the handlebars. Above the handlebars and it’ll get in the way when I make sharp/hard turns…
Any advice or help would be appreciated.

I have a tao Tao atm 50 2018 that needs to be fixed a little bit it needs new plastics a seat cover, new tail light, a new tank and bober and fuel lines it runs good and it’s hits 45mph (Becuse of the 80cc kit the guy I bought it from put in) but it leaks oil out of the fuel lines and has about 2200 miles on it should I try and sell it and buy a different one or keep it. I bought it for $300 when i first bought it it had a bad smoking problem but I got it fixed and it’s runs very smooth it also has an “open title” that was signed to be sold back in 2019 so a open title has been in the hands of 3 other people. I’m on a tight budget as I don’t make a lot of money and am a high school student soon to college and want/ need a moped to get from school and work to save some money and to enjoy the spenders of having a moped because they are fricking awesome let me know yalls opinions

Last time I posted my Chinese Banana for roasting I mentioned the lack of indicator light lenses.
I'll make an update post in 6 months of the durability of this fix.
Here is the background story, like on those internet food recipes.
I got this scooter like 6 months ago not running, fixed the carb and the fuel valve and it started up. Used it for a while, but thanks to it being old and used. It had lost one of the lenses at the back and the other one was damaged a little.
I thought it couldn't be that hard to fix it and it wasn't that hard.
First I tried to scan it with my phone, but I have an android phone so I give up fast.
After that I asked around if someone knows a guy who could 3D scan it for me.
Found a guy online and asked him if he could do it. He told me he had never scanned anything transparent before, but I told him that I'll paint it down and we are good.
We were good and I got the model of the part off to editing. I added back the part that broke off and went for some test prints on my budget second hand fdm printer.
I was lucky and had it fit okayish, but that was the goal.
Here I ordered a transparent orange petg filament and printer out myself.
I would say it was a good idea to fix it, I learnt from it and saved a bike from a landfill even though it's a Chinese mass produced mix of Japanese bikes.
So here is what I want to do now.
Get someone to reprint it in resin to make it more transparent.
It's good enough for an indicator light, but I want to scan the other parts as well, just to have a backup plan in case something breaks or gets lost.
I want to make an archive for people like me to preserve these vehicles.
So if anyone has interest in these, I will create a website for it. I know you can just upload it on insert any 3D model website, but that does not have good categories and filters for models.
That's all I guess, I'll send in some extra photos in comments on the process.

This type of traffic daily is part of the reason Thailand has so many scooters going around in the city. The smaller scooters have the advantage obviously. Also lots and lots of parking for scooters.

I want a practical scooter with good foot board space and boot space..Kinetic dx plus 3.1 kw with 105km real world range is for 1.47Lakhs.. competition models price is literally 30-40k higher.. we checked exact competitors which is chetak and we need good front foot space for stock which is not there in it.. other models like iqube or vx2 plus or even river indie have literally 4-5 months of waiting and cost around 1.6L on road final.. and specifications wise competition konarc costs a galloping 1.7L for 130km range.. kinetics Ifp battery and charger system also metal body are appealing.. and if they're expanding service to my area also, should I consider it? They're giving a 9 year battery warranty.. it's for a short rider and kinetic is compact which is a w.. the major cons which people are saying is the hub motor and brand value.. for city commute, is 3.8 kw hub motor good? Please help!!!

Today was teaching him to be more comfortable with the throttle, only pulling it slightly and then braking smoothly to a stop. (Few mins before this, he couldn't even move an inch without slamming the brakes and almost falling) Slow progress until he eventually buys his own when he's ready)
Edit - give the helmet thing a rest. He knows and I know what's dangerous and this isn't one of them. The speed, if you could even call it speed, that he's going at isn't enough to even remotely hurt him anywhere by his head unless someone suddenly pushed him.
Helmet is important and I acknowledge that and always wear one when riding, but honestly I think both my friend and I prefer not wearing it in this small exercise where there's 0 wind hitting us than getting a heat stroke inside the helmet

I gave my Yamaha Ray ZR 125 scooter to my mechanic for service and some repair work.
He’s made a bill of almost 8k and sent me, I’ve asked him not to start the service until I confirm.
Here’s the detailed breakdown:
General service 950
Engine oil and gearbox oil 560
Air filter 390
Oil filter 140
Real brake shoe 340
Water wash 150
Front fork oil seal and spring assembly kit 1950
Clutch lining assembly 1650
Clutch roller 560
Clutch greecing labour 300
Rear wheel bearing will bearing 540
Metre worm 410
All I needed done was :
1. Front wheel sound - maybe hanging cable/wobble hai ya kuch wo fix karna hai
2. Basic service
3. Throttle handle - gets stuck in 1st gear when bike is stationary
4. Tighten body panels
5. Theres a speedometer issue which is optional at this point
He says he’ll reduce labor give discount etc, however can anyone advise on is it better to give the scooty to Yamaha service centre instead ?

Hypothetical choice: owner does all normal servicing (with receipts), garaged indoors and treats a bike well in 2 scenarios:
2022 Xmax 300: 40000km
or
2017 Xmax 300: 25000km
Which bike in 2026 do you think would be more reliable in terms of wear and tear?

I have two, one in Negril, Jamaica (white) from a dealer and one in Portland, ME (silver) from a private seller on eBay that bought a lot of 10 Freon TEMU and shipped me one from California. I have tons of friends looking for these in Portland. Does anyone know here these can be acquired (besides Aventura - which is hugely overpriced)?

Hi! I want to buy a 2-seater scooter on which I can fit a top case and also 2 side bags for multiple daily trips around the city. So far, I like the Kymco SkyTown 125i ABS the most because it is also at a good price. Can I put side bags on it? I couldn't really find information about them online. Do you have other scooter suggestions? If so, please share them, budget 15,000 - 20,000 lei. Thanks!

Hi all,
I’m looking to purchase a Vespa for myself. Looking for some advice on models. From what I’ve been reading online, a 150cc should be a good starting point for me. I’m a new rider and don’t want to drive on highways or anything. Just wanting it for something to drive locally around my local towns where the speed limits don’t exceed 45 mph (usually 35). I’ve seen a lot of talk about the Primavera. I’m open to a new or used bike.
After being in Italy for the last two weeks, I sort of have my heart set on a Vespa but I am open to other recommendations if there are strong feelings about other makes.
Thanks!

Hey guys, I recently made a mistake and bought a variator that doesn't fit my scooter. I was trying to get a little better performance the sliding rollers did a pretty good job, but I need a bit more on the top end.
My engine code is 1P54QMI, but I can't find anything online, which is really strange. I measured the stock variator and it's extremely small? honestly, I'm starting to wonder if it's actually meant for a 50cc or a 125cc.
Any suggestions? Thanks

Headlight is a proper motorcycle light with an H4 bulb I got off of ebay. Had to make a bracket to mount it, but it should also accept other lights now should I want to change.
Exhaust is some random one also from ebay, definitely not yoshimura tho. After a day or two of riding I realized it was trying to melt my body panels because of it being on the short side. Repurposed an old heat shield to make the one that's there. I may or may not put a monster can or something over it so it's easier to look at.
