It’s a deceptively simple question to ask and an incredibly difficult one to answer objectively. So, let’s discuss it subjectively.
What’s that one movie you’d call a genuine masterpiece? Not necessarily the highest-rated film or the most technically brilliant one, but something that made you feel like you’d experienced something truly unique.
And what kind of stories do you wish you could experience on screen?
Maybe it’s a premise you’ve never seen explored properly, a real-life incident that deserves a cinematic retelling, an unusual genre combination, or a narrative that challenges the way we perceive something.
I’m curious about the stories people want to see, the films they wish existed, and the unexplored possibilities of cinema.
Feel free to share your favourite films, recommendations, and thoughts in the comments. If you have an original story, an idea you’d like to explore, or something you’d genuinely want to bring to life with another person, my DMs are open. I’d love to hear from you!
A little about me.
I’m an aspiring writer-director who’s been trying to figure out my place in cinema for a long time. Long enough to lose my way somewhere along the journey, actually.
But I’m finally here, trying to find that spark again and start creating rather than endlessly thinking about it.
I’m also part of a filmmaking community in Chennai, where we bring filmmakers together and host screening events for short films. It’s a space for people to showcase their work, connect, and celebrate cinema.
At this point, I’m looking to discover stories worth telling, meet people who share the same creative curiosity, and find my way back into filmmaking.
I’m open to collaborations with writers, directors, cinematographers, editors, and anyone who genuinely loves the process of creating something meaningful.
And if you’re someone with experience in cinema who’s willing to guide or mentor an aspiring filmmaker, I’d be incredibly grateful for that opportunity, too.
I’m not here pretending to know everything. Honestly, I’m happy to approach this like a dumb kid walking into a world he desperately wants to understand. 😇 I’m willing to listen, learn, experiment, make mistakes, and put in the work. If there’s something you think I should learn, a perspective I’m missing, or a direction you think I should explore, I’m all ears.
You don’t need to have everything figured out to start a conversation. Sometimes, all it takes is meeting the right person or hearing the right story.
So, let’s talk cinema.
What’s a masterpiece to you? What stories do you wish existed? And if you’re someone who wants to create, teach, learn, or collaborate, I’d love to connect. 🎬
