Mod here - No Low Effort AI-Generated Images, please.
Namaste folks.
I'm one of the mods here, and I've been seeing more and more low effort, AI-generated images of Mahadeva on here. Frankly, it's just disrespectful - there are so many human artists that make truly inspired artwork of Him, the Devi in all Her forms, and their Blessed family.
Anyways, you have been warned. Again!
Much love to you all.
Aum Namah Shivaya.

Temples/Idols/Architecture 4. Kalyanasundara Murthi
As per the Shaiva Agamas, Parameshwara is Arupa, yet out of infinite compassion, He assumes Rupa-arupa (Linga) and Rupas. These Rupas are 25 primarily and are called Panchavimshati Murtis or Maheshwara Murtis. By the grace of that Parameshwara, I present these forms.
Iconography (per Shri Tattvanidhi text):
Purpose: Manifested to solemnize the sacred cosmic union with Goddess Parvati (Pānigrahana), symbolizing the supreme harmony between renunciation (Vairāgya) and household life (Grihastha), and restoring balance to the universe.
Stance: Standing in a graceful, poised posture (Sama-bhanga or gentle Dvibhanga), embodying divine elegance, auspiciousness (kalyāna), and majestic charm.
Form & Attire: A radiant, four-armed groom adorned in royal wedding garments and fine jewels (Sarvābharana-bhushita), setting aside his fierce attributes to express deep grace and benevolence (saumya-bhāva).
Primary Right Hand: Gently extended forward to hold the right hand of Goddess Parvati in the sacred Pānigrahana gesture.
Rear Right Hand: Holds the battle-axe (Parashu).
Primary Left Hand: Displayed in the gesture of granting boons (Vara-mudra) or resting near the hip (Uru-hasta).
Rear Left Hand: Holds the golden antelope or deer (Mriga).
Hair & Jewelry: Styled in towering matted locks (Jatā-makuta) adorned with the crescent moon (Chandra) and sacred serpents, harmonizing his ascetic nature with royal wedding ornaments.
Divine Companions: Accompanied by Goddess Parvati (standing shyly to His right, holding a blue lotus), Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi performing the Kanyādāna with a golden water pot, and Lord Brahma seated below officiating the sacred fire (Homa-kunḍa).

Shaivism Discussion Why is Shiva’s throat blue? The Halahala story is darker than most retellings
Most of us know Shiva as Neelkanth, the one who drank the poison. But the older texts tell it with more detail than the usual summary.
During the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan), the first thing to emerge wasn’t nectar. It was Halahala, a poison so potent that devas and asuras alike feared it would end all creation. When they went to Shiva, he drank it. In the version in the Bhagavata Purana (Canto 8), Parvati’s hand on his throat stops it from going further, and that is why it turned blue.
What stands out to me is the choice. Nobody could force him to do it. He took it on so everyone else wouldn’t have to.
Which version of this story did you grow up with, and does it change between regions or texts? I’d love to hear the retellings I haven’t come across.
I covered the full story with the scripture references in a \~10 minute video here, if anyone wants it: [https://youtu.be/5FkBEpL81vQ\](https://youtu.be/5FkBEpL81vQ)

Temples/Idols/Architecture 3. Kamantaka Murthi
Purpose: Manifested to reduce Kama (Manmatha) to ashes with the fire of His third eye, symbolizing the absolute conquest of sensory illusion and passion.
Stance: Seated in a yogic posture (yogasana) or standing with poised alertness, embodying supreme meditative focus and detachment.
Form & Attire: An ascetic yet majestic divine form with three eyes and four arms, radiating intense spiritual power and blazing wrath (raudra-bhava).
Primary Right Hand: Displays the gesture of granting assurance or fearlessness (pataka-mudra / abhaya).
Rear Right Hand: Holds a hand-drum (damaru).
Primary Left Hand: Displayed in a warning or pointing gesture (suchi-mudra / tarjani-mudra) directed toward Kama.
Rear Left Hand: Holds the trident or an ascetic emblem.
Hair & Jewelry: Styled in towering matted locks (jata-makuṭa) adorned with the crescent moon, conforming to the austere lifestyle of a supreme yogi.
Divine Companions: Accompanied by Kama standing or collapsing as he is incinerated, alongside his consort Rati (weeping in grief), Vasantha (Spring), and attendants or deities witnessing the event.

Other Poem for shiva
Oh the one wrapped in snakes
Ego and illusion does your trishul breaks
Oh the one who wears garland of skull
Ashes do your ganas culls.
Lord of Gods u are known as pashupati
You who are married to parvati sati
You who drank poison and give elixir
You are the true and ultimate fixer.
Destroyer of tripura conqueror of worlds
Ganga waves fail against your jata curls
You who cloth himself with burning ashes
Sitting in meditation surrounded by golden flashes.
Older than time newer than the newest
Oh beauty of ur neck Shankara which is bluest
Vanquisher of ego, sin and pride
Nandi is the vahana whom you ride.
Lord of death destroyer of time
Creator of art, music and rhyme
Boon giver innocent, sweet and detached
Millions of kamadev have you mismatched
What can i give to you Kuber's neighbour
Accept my heart and do me a favour
Father of obstacle remover husband of warrior
Remove this lust, temptations, ego and other barrier.
Come to me oh merciful lord
That would be my ultimate reward
I end my prayer now in your name
Give me wisdom, riches, devotion and fame.
Karpura gauram karunavataram sansaarsaram bhujagendraharaam sadavasantam hridayarvrinde bhavam bhavani sahitam namami. Shambo shankara🙏 🔱
Namah shivaya

Other Title: A moment of stillness
Jai Bholenath! Sharing pics of Adiyogi who is Shiva as the first Yogi and Adiguru, Dhyanalinga which represents his formless meditative energy with all 7 chakras, and Linga Bhairavi who is Maa Shakti the fierce yet compassionate consort of Shiva, together they show ShivShakti as one inseparable divine principle of Sanatan Dharma where Shiv is consciousness and Shakti is creation, seeing them gives immense peace and reminds me of Dakshinamurthy and Ardhanarishvara tattva, how do you all practice Shiv-Shakti dhyan and sadhana in daily life. Har Har Mahadev Jai Maa!
