Spoiler S6 ending actually PMO so bad someone tell me it gets better

This is probably more of a huge rent than anything, but I do genuinely want to be assured it gets better, that the prison arc is only a couple episodes and show magic gets Harvey and Mike together. I just finished season 6. I am severely dissapointed tbh. I don’t know if it’s even worth continuing to watch??? I’m watching Suits, not Prison Break (tho I understand the confusion from the writers, both have Michael with a photographic memory, of course!). And the choices made by Mike pissed me off beyond.

It was such a character regression for Mike to do what he did. His final act ended up being one where he didn’t communicate with rachel despite their communication being of importance of the strength in their relationship, he didn’t even fucking tell Harvey, another communication point, didn’t trust himself, also a part of his character growth. If they had included a scene where he had spoken to either of them i wouldn’t be so pissed. OR, the fact that he’s supposed to be taking the fall so nobody else gets hurt??? Are we serious?? Mike’s guilty plea literally makes multiple people on the stand guilty of perjury. While the DA agreed not to go after any of Mike’s friends, there’s nothing stopping the bar association. Half those people will lose their licenses and won’t practice law. All of Mike’s cases get reopened and his work is thrown out. Mike’s supposed ‘I take the bullet for everyone else’ plea deal doesn’t really protect anyone logistically at all from anyone but the DA, so the whole dramatic choice doesn’t even feel rewarding as a testament to Mike’s care for his friends, it literally just makes him uncharacteristically stupid. The decision was so short sighted I have a hard time believing I just watched Michael Ross sigh that plea deal.

The entire last 6 seasons are thrown out the window. Why did I waste hours and days of my life on watching a show where the entire premise is just thrown out, the character development thrown out, I’m so so frustrated. Now I’m going into watching Mike perform useless directionless prison break ass interactions, and I genuinely can’t find a way the partners don’t all go bankrupt because their credibility is fucked. I mean the way everyone just disappeared was hilarious when it happened on screen, but that indicates Harvey, Jessica and Louis are entirely alone, no employees, no clients, with a multimillion dollar firm, their salaries invested in stock and reliant on the pyramid scheme that is corporate law firms. My suspension of disbelief on these three being able to save themselves has been strung out tbh.

Someone tell me it gets better, goddamnit.

First Time Watcher First time watching Season 8. It is NOT THAT BAD

I understand for most people that Harvey-Mike dynamic was important for the show, but for me personally it was getting stale after the prison fiasco. Most episodes after prison were just

"Mike don't do that"
"Ok Harvey"
Proceeds to do it anyway

I feel like Samantha Wheeler and Alex Williams having a rivalry is fantastic, and having Zane and Harvey be kind of locked in battle most of the time also good. Donna is a bit forced this season, but not awful, and i love watching Louis Litt's character arc.

I do think that Mike and Rachel had great chemistry and were kind of a grounding presence in this show. I miss that, and i used to find mike a bit annoying, but his segments were a nice change in pace for the show.

Great comedy scenes in this season as well.

Discussion How did Mike never get caught by basic background check software?

Been thinking about this rewatching season 1.

Mike has no law degree, no bar admission record, no Harvard registrar file that matches his name. In real hiring, third party verification services flag mismatched education claims before the offer letter even goes out. Suits treats it like Harvey just vouched and that was that. Even in 2011, automated checks existed. The show basically skips over how Pearson Hardman never used them, or how Jessica and Louis never independently verified. Donna found out fast because she actually looked. Makes me wonder if the writers just assumed law firms hired on handshake deals back then, or if they knew and ignored it for plot. The whole firm runs on trust and gut reads instead of process, which tracks with how Harvey operates but falls apart the second anyone competent does due diligence. Did they ever address this directly and I missed it? Or is it one of those things you just accept and move on.

Episode Related Why is everyone yelling?

I’m three episodes in to S7 and man everyone is so pissed off all the time. It makes me realize how much I miss Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) because she didn’t have to raise her voice to be fierce or be heard. Everyone in the show now thinks the best way to display dominance is to shout the loudest. There’s so much bickering, cat fighting, overdramatic reactions to everything. Louis is peak off-putting in this season.

There’s just no balance in emotion anymore. I noticed I had to turn the volume down.

Character Related Who played their role the best?

This is less about whether you liked the character themselves and more about how an actor portrayed the actor and how well you think they did in their acting.

For me two that stick out are Max Beesley as Stephen Huntley and Eric Roberts as Charles Forstman, both are so slimey and horrible but I loved seeing them on screen, they held their own so well and make every scene they are in memorable

Discussion Why did they have to do that thing without which there would be no plot?

I just got done watching Suits for the eleventh time and I was just wondering, why did they use that one plot device? I mean sure, there would be no basis for a show without this plot device but why couldn't they just have omitted it?

Discussion Why can't they just let Louis and Harvey get along !?

Reached S5e08 and I just wish they'd let Louis develop a little bit more (and stay developed.) This was the perfect opportunity but they just want the drama to happen. It's so frustrating!

He's (somehow) my fav character and I just want him to be on good terms with the others for longer than 0.5-3 episodes. Writers seem to not want that.

Edit: when are they gonna go mudding ??? (Probably never but whatever)

Discussion Anyone else notice how often confidential files just sit on desks?

Been rewatching from the beginning and something keeps bothering me about how the firm handles physical security. You have these high stakes cases with millions in damages and trade secrets involved, yet file folders with client names on them are just sitting open on desks all the time. People walk in and out of offices constantly, sometimes people who should not even be in the building. Donna's desk is basically a clearinghouse for every sensitive document in the place and she just leaves them there while she goes to get coffee or talk to someone. Hardly anyone locks their door when they leave for depositions or court. One wrong person walks by and that is a breach waiting to happen. I work in data security so maybe I am just tuned to notice it, but seems like a firm that size would have actual policies about clean desk requirements and locked storage for active case files. Especially with the kind of corporate espionage storylines they run where people are constantly trying to steal information. The show treats physical security like it does not exist half the time. Does anyone remember a scene where this actually came back to bite them or caused a real problem for a case?

Discussion How about another suits spin off but time about Sean Cahill

I know everyone wants a spin off with Mike and Harvey in Seattle but suits was already about them, a spin off about them is just suits season 10, also Meghan doesn’t act anymore and you can’t have a show with Mike and no Rachel, and you can’t just replace the actor. Pearson failed, Jessica just couldn’t do it by herself and suits La also failed because people kept comparing those characters to suits which hurt the show. But how about Sean Cahill? I was rewatching season 9 episode 8 with him and Harvey against Andrew Malik and I had an idea when Cahill went to talk to his superior, what if Sean had his own series? We would be able to see a justice show in the suits universe. A lot of fans like Sean, the directors like the actor, literally everyone likes the character and Neal. Sean is easily one of the best recurring side characters, him and Stuart but Stuart isn’t good enough for a centered show though stock trading is more interesting than law, Stuart wasn’t interesting enough to have a show focused on him but Sean does. What do you guys think? Would you like to see another final try of giving a spin off on suits and it is about Sean Cahill?

Episode Related Just done watching season 8 Spoiler

And I am pissed and disappointed at how Zane went out, the reason was so pathetic, that he somehow felt guilty for what happened years before to a guy that hurt his close friend and colleague? when he did the right thing to send a criminal to jail. what happens to him in there is not on Zane why did he feel guilty? besides he assaulted a woman ruthlessly punching and kicking her while down. To lose your license and decades of hard work for that just doesn't make sense to me.

Discussion Anybody else seen landman? If you did who would ultimately win via settlement or trial? Rebecca falcone vs Harvey. Who’s the better closer?

Haven’t seen this show just been seeing random clips on social media. Based off what I’ve seen she kind of reminds me of Harvey as she’s intimidating, ruthless, and always aims for settlements just like Harvey. With that said if they were on opposite sides with Harvey representing some big company and Rebecca representing whoever is bringing the suit, who would successfully close the other and win?? Vice versa for round 2 if Harvey brought the suit and Rebecca had to defend??

I still think Harvey got it based on his experience as a asst DA and dealing with intimidators practically daily. Or did he finally meet his match??

Character Related I LOVE LOUIS

I’m on season 7 and as seasons pass, I’m starting to really love Louis and he has became my favourite character.

He has so much character and personality, and emotions that you see in him more than any other character.

I really disliked him within the first 4 seasons because I kept taking Harvey’s side but I’m started to realize Louis was just always given the undercard especially since Harvey and Jessica were always teaming up.

There isn’t a scene where I’m not laughing because of Louis when he’s on the screen. He’s so under appreciated and under minded in this show by viewers and it makes me sooo sad.

I’m on S3 right after the Darby split, and before that Harvey revealed to Jessica that he had made a deal with Darby, what a scene.

By S3, my biggest gripes about her is how she mishandles Louis. If she invested more time on Louis she would have had an even stronger team.
