WENDIGO COMING SOON
REAL Bigfoot Sounds, Authentic Sasquatch Behaviors
NEW DANGERS, LEGENDARY TERROR
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlhLXMTQQOk
Recent footage acquired from the scene of a news correspondent's death captures his final moments before a "large ape-like creature" began breaking into the home he was investigating. The homeowner, reporter, and a small dog were found deceased at the scene. Authorities have yet to comment on any details surrounding the incident.
Sources say numerous incidents involving these apes have been reported in the past month. Authorities ask that residents stay inside until the situation is under control, and they ask that residents "to NOT interact with these creatures as THEY MAY BE DANGEROUS."

TL;DR: Evaluating memory bandwidth and decode latency across local LLM runners.
Key Findings & Benchmark Analysis: - Quantization: Q4_K_M remains the sweet spot for perplexity vs throughput. - Memory Bandwidth: The primary bottleneck under concurrent load.

**TL;DR:** Real-world benchmarks via NeuBench show that local LLM token latency is heavily bottlenecked by memory bandwidth rather than raw compute, especially on consumer hardware.
**Key Findings & Benchmark Analysis:** - **Memory Bandwidth Wall:** Across multiple local runners, token generation speeds consistently plateau when hitting the hardware's memory bandwidth limits. Quantization helps reduce the model footprint, but decode latency remains tightly coupled to RAM/VRAM throughput (GB/s). - **Runner Overhead:** Different inference engines handle scheduling and KV cache management differently, leading to noticeable variance in time-to-first-token (TTFT) even when running the exact same model weights on identical hardware.
**Community Discussion:** What are you seeing in your own setups when pushing longer context windows? Have you found specific runner configurations that actually mitigate these memory bandwidth bottlenecks, or are we mostly just hitting the physical limits of current memory interfaces?

I'm currently building a custom music player for Android using Rust and Kotlin. I designed the UI to look like an old-school 90s car stereo, complete with a digital spectrum analyzer and VFD-style track display. Doesn't this layout give you a nostalgic vibe?
