I just got my first soprano ukelele thinking it would be easy to learn..... I'm totally stunned as to how intricate it is to keep up with beat while being accurate when it comes to finger placement.....

And then there's this guy who can play both melodica and ukelele at the same time....

I've been playing around a month, I've learned a lot of chords (C, G7, G, D, A, Am, F, Em, and a bunch of less common ones like Gmaj7 and C7) I've learnt a couple of songs, even begun to try singing and playing but I don't have any clear structure anymore, I used to just pick up the ukulele and play. But I don't know where to go from here, I feel kinda stuck cos I don't know what I should be learning and working on. Anyone have any tips?

First time caller, long time listener. I wanted to share a cover of Kim Kwang Seok's "Kuru Tteoki" or "A Stump" that I painstakingly learned by ear. The chords are G, C, D, and Eb. It is a Korean song from the 90's that I stumbled upon as a young kid when I found his album at a random thrift store in small town Ontario, CA.

The original song is here: https://youtu.be/-fQ4sajHM2c?si=MwydQ-EBbs_EuPKb

This is my first time ever posting my playing and singing online so please be kind- I will literally cry lol.

I sent the original vid of me playing the uke to a mate - he sent this back 10 mins later.

Island strum I think it’s called

Anyone who doesnt take it serious and thinks its a toy probably thinks knives are a joke too. Lol sorry for the violent comparison but it will cut your soul just as deep as any guitar. The beautiful little chord machine. Ha

Just a cool ukulele jam ive been working on. Thanks for posting cool sounds and jamming out with me!

Does it have something to do with the wood? Is it something I should be concerned about? I bought this Ukulele new in Hawaii back in 2019 and I swear these lines have been forming more and more over time since and I don't know what the cause is. I don't recall them ever being there when I bought it.

Also if anybody can identify the type of wood it's made out of that would be greatly appreciated.

So, yeah, I've found I quite like the baritone ukes that I have, and am looking at picking up a resonator type. What's folks' experience with these? What brand do you recommend, what's available in my area (upstate New York, USA), what should I watch out for?

Anyone see this?

I hate the term 'jazz chords' but youtube tells me I should be more engaging, whatever that means.

Here's how to play fancy chords using four shapes as your base. It's a great crash course in harmony that'll help you no matter what type of music you play.

I came across this sweet rendition of Levels (Avicii), but even when I slow it down to half speed it's difficult to figure out. I've only got the first few notes. I'm a 6 month uke beginner and even more new to finger picking. My ear can't quite figure it out, especially when 2 notes are being played at once. Any help transcribing this? I'd chip in a few bucks to a venmo or patreon or something

Hi everyone, I'm looking to start playing ukulele and would like to get a decent starter instrument. I looked through the FAQs and think I've found a contender in my budget but wanted to ask if anyone would give it a yay or nay. From what I can see on that review site linked in the mega thread there's not much rated higher I could get for £110 posted.

Sorry if this type of thread isn't allowed, I'm not trying to annoy anyone

A few days ago, I said I bought a ukulele for the first time and asked for advice on what I should do. I learned the chords that most people suggestwd and now I can easily play chords like c g dm em f am. but It is very difficult for me to keep rhythm while singing. I miss rhythm and can't change chords. What do you suggest me to do?

I've been looking to get a ukulele and I decided that the Baritone would be the best fit for me.

Is this Baritone a good starter? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RH7BC7C

And what's the best guide for the instrument that focuses solely on the Baritone? I understand it's a bit more of the black sheep of the Ukuleles so there isn't as much material on it.

We got something to say….

Enjoyed my C1K but wanted a tenor as well

I rarely sing while i play but today this song came to my mind. I remember i heard this song for the first time in my dad's PC (it was pre-installed in Windows XP if i recall correctly). As i got older i think i get the lyrics now
