in the sky, neither the moon nor the stars are in sight

these days only dancing sparks fill the folds of the night

the cycle time scraped that too from my lips, took it from me

the smile that I had donned for the world to see

جنھوں نے دی تھی تکلیف بھی

ان سے ہی چھپانے پڑتے ہیں آنسوں بھی

ڈر لگتا ہے الفاظوں سے بھی

کہیں مستقبل میں بن نہ جائیں سزا بھی

قرآن سے جو کر لی ہے جدائی اتنی

حق بات کرنے کا بھول گئے ہیں سلیقہ بھی

تم کیا جانو یہاں کا دستور میاں

یہاں ضد کرتے ہیں بڑےاور کرتے ہیں پوری بچے بھی

جن کے لیے دفن کی تھیں خواہشیں راحد

آج کہتے ہیں اسے کوئی کام ہے بھی

Silent homes, hushed up roads, time that is weary

this city needs a someone with a touch of frenzy

My heart is familiar only with you, otherwise, I wouldn't share the state of my heart with strangers like this.

Dil to bas ek tujhse aashna hai warna, hum gairon ko apna haal-e-dil aise nahi sunaate.

even the moon and stars in the sky were available freely
