"Vegas Style" on freemont street

hi! I know there's already been another post about this in here but I just wanted to warn people about an extortion scam in vegas. It's a tshirt print shop / gift shop on Fremont St called "Vegas Style"

I walked in there because my friend was there looking at some shorts, she told me she was going to get some custom ones done and I asked her how much it was, she said the lady at the counter told her It's only $20. So I decided I wanted to get some too, I went up to the counter and asked the 2 girls if it was really only $20 for custom shorts and she said "Yep!! just $20!"

So we get our designs done, then one of the girls said "btw It's buy 2 get one free so you can get something else for free if you are paying together!" so I decided why not? It's only $40 if I put my friends on my card, and then I can get a free shirt. So they package up our stuff, and they hand me the card reader which was one of those handheld Clover systems where she prompted me to tap my card, and I did, not even realizing that she was INTENTIONALLY covering the total on the screen with her hand. then she handed me a receipt to sign which was folded over so I couldnt see the total and as I was signing thats when I realized what was happening, so I immediately asked to see the receipt, and they SNATCHED that signed copy away so fast I couldnt even react, handed me an itemized bill with a total of $308. so I immediately freak out and ask for the signed copy back and these girls start arguing like nobodies business. I said "dude come on you told me $20 each" and they said "right! $20 for the shorts, and then plus the design cost" they refused to refund me, refused to give me my signed copy back and literally told me that I could "go cry about it bro" we left the clothes there because I figured if I want to get my money back we can't have taken the product. and they even tried to follow us out of the store to force us to take the items. I'm currently trying to get my money back through my credit card company and am going to be reporting them to the Report Fraud website. if you have had a similar experience please please help me out by reporting them here: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov/

edit: sorry I meant Fremont St.

A New Community for MGM Rewards Discussion

Hi everyone! With new posts in r/Mlife appearing to be restricted, I created r/MGMRewardsCommunity as another place to talk about MGM Rewards, offers, comp stays, FREEPLAY, resort credit, and experiences at MGM properties.

It’s an independent, unofficial community. Whether you’re new to the program or a longtime member, you’re welcome to ask questions, share trip reports, compare experiences, or just join the conversation.

I’ve missed having an active place for these discussions, and I hope this can be useful to others who have too.

Thanks to the r/vegas mods for giving me permission to share this!

We will be arriving Monday and staying until Friday. Im taking her to see The Wizard of Oz. We don't do much gambling, we're looking for entertainment. We're both in our 70s, so we will be looking for easy going shows and good places to eat. Suggestion?

Rain forecast this weekend

What is it like when there is rain forecasted for Las Vegas? Is it an all day rain that's dreary or does it clear up right away? I never been to Vegas when it was not sunny lol, so I just want to be prepared. My family and I are coming from Wisconsin for vacation here this weekend.

Got flaked on, so I'll be solo in Vegas for 2 weeks. 27M from Italy — who wants to grab a drink, hit some techno events, or do a road trip?

Warning: Throwaway account!

Long story short: had a whole trip planned around a girl who turned out to be playing both sides. The girl is gone, but the flights and hotel (right off the Strip) are non-refundable — so I'm doing this anyway!

I’m 27, Italian, super easygoing, and I refuse to spend two weeks rotting in my hotel room or dying of boredom.

I'll be in Vegas in mid November for two weeks!

I'm looking to meet up with some chill locals (or fellow travelers) to hang out, grabbing drinks, or hit some good techno/house spots (big fan of underground vibes). Also super down for daytime stuff like day trips to Red Rock or Death Valley if anyone’s driving that way.

First round of drinks is on me for anyone who rescues me from playing slots by myself all week. Hit me up or drop your favorite local spots below! 🍻

What’s everyone doing for Halloween in Vegas?

I don’t recommend doing downtown, it’s far too hectic and I know from experience trying to do that last year. But if you get there relatively early in the night and kill time until it gets later and more full, you can make the most of it.

What’s everybody doing for Halloween this year? It won’t be on a Saturday until 2037. If you need some ideas, there’s some good ones in this article at casinos on the Strip and off-Strip too.

What are the must-dos in Downtown Las Vegas?

I'm visiting Vegas this Friday through Sunday.

I'm planning to head downtown on Saturday afternoon to play some match play offers.

What else is worth checking out in Fremont Street ? Any must-do activities, casinos, bars, or hidden gems you'd recommend?

Thanks!

Heading to Vegas and wanted to get some feedback/advice

We're staying the Park MGM and landing on a Thursday, leaving Monday in early December. Husband and I have been to Vegas before (2015) so we've been there/done that. I'm looking for general advice and ideas around our itinerary below.

My husband and I are solid Midwest 5s closer to 40 than I'd like to admit so we're not looking to party hard in da club like we used to. We like to play video games, drink some, smoke weed, maybe dance and we love people watching.

Thursday - check into hotel, dinner at Buvette's, On the Record after, then casino
Friday - Grand Canyon West tour (Hoover Dam, lunch included). We get back around 7pm so we'll find dinner and see how much energy we have.
Saturday - check out the strip, dinner at Bacchanal, Puppetry of Penis after
Sunday - arts district during the day, Fremont Street at night
Monday - brunch at Eataly, leave for airport

My questions:
1) Does On the Record require a cover? Are there other bars you recommend on the strip that are cool?
2) Viator offers the Grand Canyon West tour, but we also came across Comedy on Deck which sounds fun. Does anyone have experience with them?
3) What Christmas things there be to do/see?
4) Any arts district recommendations?

Also open to whatever else comes to mind. Thanks!

ADA on the strip?

• Upvotes

For anyone not able to wear normal shoes due to medical issues, what do you do when visiting the strip?

My sister has a rare bone disease, has plates and screws in her leg ankle and big toe after several surgeries and can only safely wear crocs. We went to Vegas this last weekend and every club/brunch spot we went to gave her a hard time about her shoes, I got her a nice new clean pair but that still wasn’t good enough. It’s disheartening to watch her have to show them pictures of the inside of her foot to possibly be allowed in, I frequent Vegas often and now that she’s living with me I’d love for her to go wherever I go. She’s an adult now and should be allowed the same fun times as the rest of us. Is there like an ADA form her doctor can fill out or something we need to bring with us so they don’t argue her disability all the time? Or are disabled people just not allowed on the strip/in establishments in Vegas?

What do you think of this idea for a Vegas nba franchise? The Las Vegas Invaders 👽 🏀 🛸

I realize now I’m not the only one to think of the Las Vegas Invader name, I’ve seen a few others online but I made this logo a few years ago and just recently revisited it and made some adjustments.

It features Invader Green taking inspiration from nearby Area 51 and an alien theme, Silver State Silver from Nevada’s state color and traditional black and white accents which most NBA teams use. The logo combines a UFO with the windshield being a basketball. The grip lines of the basketball make an angry frown much like the Chicago Bulls and New Orleans Pelicans logos.

How much planning is needed + weekday recs?

Hey folks!

My dad and I live on opposite sides of the US and were deciding to meet up for a weekend in Vegas! We know we’ll keep busy during the nights at the casinos, but wondering about shows and tickets. Do we need to pre-purchase tickets to things like blue man group and cirque du Soleil, or is it the type of thing we can buy day-of and not have to worry about things being sold out? We will be the weekend of Nov 20th.

Additionally, I will be there the following Monday and Tuesday. I’m looking to climb in the day times at red rock canyon, but wondering what kind of stuff there will be to do solo at night during the week. I’ll be casino’d out from the weekend, any recs would be appreciated!

Headed to Vegas for Metallica this weekend. What are the best spots to use the $75 daily food and beverage credit? I’ll be staying at Paris.

And this works by just charging everything to the room?

Thanks!

Las Vegas YouTubers

Aside from the YouTubers who do gambling content, will there ever be a point where all the people doing videos on food, hotels, deals, tricks, and tips, etc., run out of things to do videos on?

Yes, there are always new things going on in Vegas, but so many things have been done a thousand times over by now that I'm surprised people are still able to make videos when just about everything has already been covered by someone else multiple times over. I gotta think it's one of the most flooded topics out there.

$200 Solo Dinner

I’ll be in Vegas solo over Halloween weekend and I have a food credit for $200 at any MGM property. Since I will be alone, I’ll be at the bar and I don’t feel like getting really dressed up. Button down shirt and jeans if possible. Where should I be going? All these restaurants are new to me. If possible, a few reasons for your recommendation would be great. Thanks in advance.

I met a guy, and I'm looking for him

In Vegas between 15-20 of october during a night I met a canadian guy. I don't remember which day.

He was wearing a black T-shirt and a black trousers. He was with his friend and he stayed at excalibur hotel. He wanted to kiss me, but he was drunk, so I didn't want it😅.

I'm the girl in a long black dress.

I don't know why I'm looking for you, maybe I just want to know that you are okay

Which hotel should I choose?

I’m traveling to Vegas with my dad, staying 3 nights. We are doing a Ford Raptor event about 30-40 minutes west of Vegas.

I’ve never been, I don’t gamble, and I’m looking at nice quiet hotels.

I’d be paying with Amex points via their FHR, so, cost is last on my list.

I’ve stayed at the Waldorf in Orlando a few times and I think it’s a very nice hotel.

A few places that are available via Amex are the Waldorf or the Crockford at Resort World.

Between those two, which would be the best for myself, someone who is well travelled and successful and my dad who is a classic American small town guy?

I know I said cost is last, but the Crockford is 80k Amex points less than the Waldorf.

In addition, what should we do Sunday? I was thinking driving a few hours for some killer views.
