movie 📽️ Night of the Living Dead and Gen Z

I watched a screening of Night of the Living Dead with a live score by the band Morricone Youth last night at Nitehawk Cinema in Brooklyn, NY.

The crowd in the theater was younger, mostly Gen Z types.

The band asked the audience how many people had never seen NotLD before, and more than half raised their hands.

WOW. I've probably seen this movie at least 30 times, so it was shocking to see how many people had never seen it.

During the movie, there was a good amount of laughter at some of the scenes. Objectively, the film's low budget does show in places, which could seem silly to some, considering the filming style of a 1960s low-budget film.

The audience seemed to be laughing at the movie rather than with it.

Finally, at the end, there were audible gasps when Ben was shot by the posse.

So it was an interesting experience watching the movie with a crowd of first timers.

movie 📽️ Dead Snow prequel Comic (Død snø)

I'm making a collection of Dead Snow media with my friend group. For months, I’ve been haunted by the thought that there is a lost media Dead Snow prequel comic and I couldn't find it anywhere because the PDF to it won't work, it came to the conclusion that it was probably given out in Norwegian theatres and I have no idea where to find it or buy the physical copy.

I’m starting this thread to see if anyone happens to know where to find this comic, or perhaps even knows someone who has a copy?

In the meantime, feel free to share your impressions of the film, your own experiences, or any photos you might have :) would really appreciate any content

recommendations Any good zombie series out atm?

• Upvotes

I’ve watched basically everything on Netflix (except the Korean ones, I’ll watch those at some point, I just don’t wanna read subtitles atm) I’ve watched the last of us, wwz, army of the dead, all the 28 days stuff, and most classic zombie media as well. I’ve just been needing something new and at least a little original, (at least as original as you can get with zombies).

I'm working on an independent Nigerian zombie apocalypse movie called ZERO HOUR! 🇳🇬🧟

The story brings a zombie outbreak to an African setting, with intense action, terrifying zombies, and cinematic scenes.

I'd love to hear what you think of the concept. What would you like to see in an African zombie apocalypse movie?

Watch the trailer and share your thoughts!

game 🎮 US Military vs Millions of Zombies. Who's gonna win?

Hi,

this might be unusual for the subreddit but I thought it might be valueable for the community.

Early development of my tower defense game called "That's a Lot of Zombies".

Short description: "Fly an AC-130 gunship and gun down millions of zombies. Your squad is stuck on a roof and the dead are climbing over each other to reach them. Lay out sentry guns, flamers, claymores etc. before each night. Call in A-10s and B-52s. Hold the roof till the helicopter lands."

Looking for honest brutal feedback. What you guys think?

PS: Let me know if you are interested in playtesting the game.

discussion The initial outbreak is over and contained. What would the new “normal” look like?

Let’s say for arguments sake these are The walking dead style zombies and everyone is infected so if you die you come back.

It’s been a year since the initial outbreak and worldwide panic. There was a war waged on the walkers and humanity won. Society is somewhat functioning again.

What would that look like. Specifically how is the problem of anyone who dies coming back dealt with?

How would hospitals and care homes deal with the dead? (On Average 5 people die a day in any given hospital)

Also consider emergency services to say a fatal car accident?

Or someone falls off a ladder and hits their head killing them.

If you were In charge how would you run things?

(Please feel free to add your own take with other universes 28 days, TLOUS etc)

discussion Why you wouldn't survive The Walking Dead Universe.

Everyone boasts about how they would absolutely thrive inside TWD universe, meanwhile they leave aside the most important aspects:

  1. Clean, pure water. Once store bottled water runs out, you're forced to boil every single bit of water you lay your hands on in order to purify it. Then just transporting it, making sure its free from diseases is challenging. Carrying large water quantities is very tough because of its weight, especially if you're on your own.
  2. If you wear glasses or contact lenses, the moment you break/lose them you're done. Most people wearing them are basically blind without them. You wouldnt be able to see walkers, people or anything from a distance until its up close to you.
  3. Heavy accumulated fatigue from being on the road all the time. Your nervous system will be in a permanent state of survival, making relaxation even when "safe" almost impossible.
  4. Mental illnesses. Pretty self explanatory.
  5. Hostile groups and factions. Once again, self explanatoryi. Do not trust anyone. If you're on your own and cross paths with people like the wolves or the saviors, you're done.
  6. You are NOT Rick Grimes or Daryl or a demigod. You are an average Joe who has average stamina, energy and intelligence.
  7. The stress, hopelessness and paranoia will kill you from inside.

So no, you most likely wont survive even a month, sorry.

art 🖌️ I want to make a zombie stick man series

Thumbnail gallery

Imagine a world full of stick people living their lives in bliss, until a slimy, orange fungus starts infecting everyone. Turning them into horribly mutated monsters that only wish to spread the curse to others, their minds infected and broken beyond repair.

Scientists have named it "Pestis Aurantia" which translates to "Orange Plague" or "Orange Pestilence" from Latin to English, and most people use this as it's name all though it has a few more. Some people refer to it as The Orange Death, orange killer, and finally the DEATH fungus.

They try to stop it, but it spreads to quickly as the fungus evolves and mutates turning into more grotesque and horrifying forms.

Years pass by, and even though some cures have been made to combat the fungus in its early stages of taking over the host, and nukes have been deployed, the fungus was still to hard to stop. Buildings start to collapse and be consumed by foliage. Vines have overtaken the walls, grass has overgrown on the roads, and the fungus has become multiple times more deadly and dangerous. Taking on new forms and sizes, even creating new organisms and filling different niches.

The rest of stick kind takes on hunter gatherer life styles, Moving from place to place and keeping bow and arrows, or guns to shoot any animal they see.

Most crave the forest, far away from the city, because the city is a prison full of threats. It is large and sprawling, most stick people cannot escape due to the falling infrastructure, along with the Fungus. Some variants of said Fungus have adapted to take root on floors, buildings, or walls, along with the zombies that roam the streets.

-Authors Note

This is a very ambitious project but i hope to make it a series someday and honestly i have so many more cool ideas for it! if you have any questions about the world I'd be happy to answer. (also if you saw the old one and was wondering why i deleted it and Reposted i made a bunch of spelling errors in the art so i just quickly fixed that)

discussion Here's a dilemma. You're chilling in your home only to see reports that parts of the global population just went mad and violent overnight, killing any people they see. And that this strange phenomenon spreads through bites, scratches, and even bodily fluids hitting the eyes and mouth

So you stay inside with your family but then later that day, some knocking appear on your door. You hear it's a group of kids who say they're hurt but don't specify what injuries they have. Would you let them in or keep them outside?

art 🖌️ Stage 3 Zombie by me

For this drawing, I revisited the same zombie that I introduced on day 2 of my Halloween drawing challenge.

On day 11, he was much more deteriorated. Parts were falling off, and he was visibly rotting.

Now on the 23rd, we see the end result. Most of his hair has fallen out, along with his eyebrows. His nose and lips are gone, his ears are shredded, and the wounds across his face have opened up to reveal muscle and bone.

question How do you think a real zombie apocalypse would be like or happen?

Personally, I think it will be something along the lines of 28 days later infected they are not dead there just alive with an infection clouding other their mind making them crazy like it could be cross bred virus or mixed one like rabies and ebola or kuru and rabies or something like that, I think that it is possible and I is very likely to happen the zombies running jumping punceing, there real viruses like that as well e.g mad cow disease like it mentioned earlier rabies even ebola if mixed with the right thing so in conclusion it is very possible and it could happen.
