Hallo zusammen,

ich bin Anfang 30 und spiele mit dem Gedanken, mich langfristig in Zürich niederzulassen. Diese Woche bin ich ein paar Tage vor Ort und würde mich über ehrliche Eindrücke von Leuten freuen, die hier leben.

Beruflich und finanziell passt es, darum geht es mir weniger. Mich interessiert eher, wie sich der Alltag anfühlt.

Wie leicht findet man als Zugezogener Anschluss, auch als Deutscher? Man hört oft, Zürich sei eher distanziert oder auf Status fixiert, ähnlich wie München. Stimmt das, oder ist das ein Klischee?

Was macht ihr so nach der Arbeit? Gibt es Lauftreffs oder Sportgruppen, über die man gut Leute kennenlernt? Und wie ist das Nachtleben, gerade was Techno angeht?

Wie erlebt ihr das Kennenlernen und Daten hier, wenn man langfristig etwas Festes sucht?

Und welche Kreise würdet ihr empfehlen, wenn man etwas Leben vor der Tür will, aber nicht jeden Abend Party?

I have a friend visiting but due to her breaking a leg, most of our plans have been cancelled. I was wondering if anyone in the Zurich area has a Beamer/ projector I could borrow for the evening :) I would use it with my switch to play games to kinda of raise the mood in the weather. I have tried sharely and other similar apps , however I think it’s a little last minute for them. If there is recommendation for any other apps that offer similar rent of devices i would greatly appreciate it

I recently moved to Zurich for work. I brought my Irish bouzouki with me with the idea I'd have had tons of time to practice, but living with roomates makes it very difficult, if even possible.

Does anyone know about public places where people can simply sit down on a bench and practice? Play, sing, make music in general. I'd gladly go to a park, but the weather is not optimal and I've been told it's more often than not going to rain, so a covered place would be more than nice to have.

A side note for everyone who, like me, might be looking for a place to start at least enjoying good music: I've been to Amboss Rampe twice in a week and had an amazing time. They even have an open stage event every Thursday.

Looking to meetup and work on music together. I play guitar (intermediate level) and enjoy collaborating with others making hip-hop inspired fusiony type music. Nothing too serious, just looking to meet some new people, work on creative ideas together and have fun playing music.

I'm not super strong in sound engineering/ recording process. If thats your vibe maybe we're a good combo.

I lost a black case containing a Panasonic Lumix S5, a Sigma 24-70mm 2,8 DG DN Art and an Osmo Action 5. (A full frame camera, a Lens and a go-pro-like Action-Cam on the crossing at "Ankerstraße 119" near Langstrasse.

It is highly likely that i lost it in an Uber because I entered the wrong one for a minute and switched Ubers after that. Thats where I think i lost it. I was the Videographer at the Void rave at Club Raedli near Langstrasse. I lost it either at the function, in the uber or in front of the club.

I would be extremely glad if someone found it. It also contains footage of the event so i can prove the ownership.

Hi everyone! I’m looking for advice about B permits, particularly in the Zurich.

I moved to Switzerland in May 2023 and hold a B permit as a family member of an EU/EFTA citizen. My husband obtained his permit first, and I moved here through family reunification. I’m a third-country national (non-EU/EFTA citizen).

My husband and I are currently having some difficulties in our relationship, and we feel that living separately for a while and having more personal space might help us improve things. We are not planning to divorce at this stage, but we want to explore whether this arrangement is possible without putting my residence permit at risk.

I understand that living together is generally the basis of family reunification, so we are concerned about how living at separate addresses might affect my permit.

Is it possible to keep my B permit independently based on integration criteria, such as language skills, financial independence and integration into Swiss society?

Also, would it make a difference if we officially separated only after my husband obtains his C permit?

Has anyone experienced something similar? I’d really appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thank you! 🙏

I’m looking for witnesses to a dangerous traffic incident that happened yesterday evening in Zürich.

Details:

• Date & Time: Thursday, October 22, 2026, between 18:15 and 18:30
• Location: Wehntalerstrasse, heading towards Zürich-Affoltern (shortly after the intersection with Birchstrasse, alongside Friedhof Nordheim)
• Vehicle: Dark compact / small car (black, dark gray, or dark blue)
• License Plate: ZH plate, I have a recollection of the number, but no photo evidence. I'm not sharing it here for legal reasons.
• Driver: Male, approx. 25–35 years old

What happened: While riding on the marked bike lane (Velostreifen) towards Affoltern, the driver pulled up beside me, opened his window, and started shouting at me. Following a brief verbal dispute, he intentionally swerved his vehicle into the bike lane towards me, forcing me to make an evasive maneuver to avoid a collision and a serious fall.

After swerving, he accelerated rapidly. Due to heavy rush-hour traffic, he had to stop shortly after. I caught up to him and asked him to pull over and call the police, but he drove off.

There were several other cyclists directly behind me as well as cars in rush-hour traffic who likely saw what happened.

a few weeks ago I was having a coffee and reading by myself in a cafe when a group arrived. when they saw me there (the cafe was otherwise empty) they thought I was also attending their gathering and waiting for them, they chatted me up and ended up asking me to join them. very nice and very refreshing for Zurich.

Wir ziehen diesen Sommer nach Höngg, Riedhof-Pünten, mit zwei kleinen Kindern (2 und 4Jahre). Wie ist die Gegend für Familien? Ich hab vor längerer Zeit mal etwas über Mobbing, Kriminalität an den Schulen dort gelesen und wollte mich kurz nach euren Erfahrungen erkunden?

Ich habe mir einen Dörrautomaten bestellt, der mit einem Schuko-Stecker geliefert wurde. Leider habe ich den falschen Fixadapter (T23) montiert und möchte deshalb gerne einen Schweizer T12-Stecker professionell am Stromkabel montieren lassen.

Ich könnte es vermutlich selbst machen, möchte aber, dass alles mit dem richtigen Werkzeug sauber und sicher montiert wird.

Ich wohne im Zürcher Weinland, in der Nähe von Schaffhausen. Am liebsten wäre mir jemand aus der Region, der bei mir vorbeikommen und die Arbeit direkt vor Ort erledigen könnte. Ich wäre aber auch bereit, den Dörrautomaten vorbeizubringen, falls es nur so geht.

Früher hat mein Vater solche Dinge für mich erledigt, aber seit ich umgezogen bin, weiss ich ehrlich gesagt nicht so recht, an wen ich mich für solche kleineren Arbeiten wenden kann.

Quick question for the guys in Zurich: Grindr or Sniffies? Which one do you find works better here?
My experience with Sniffies so far has been a bit mixed. Actual meetups seem pretty rare, but when they do happen, they're usually really good 😅 So quality over quantity, I guess, but sometimes it would be nice if things actually went somewhere a bit more often lol.
Curious how Grindr compares in Zurich. More active, more flakes (since Sniffies runs in browser), more of the same? Or does it really depend on what you're looking for?
Would love to hear your experiences, especially from guys who use both.
