I was talking with an Indian man I know if he likes roti as I'll make some additional ones for him when I get round to doing them this week. He was in absolute shock and confusion 😂 (for context I'm a black man that is of Guyanese heritage living in the UK) .

He asked me how I know about such food . I had to explain Guyana's history and how our food is a rich mixture of our past that has formed Guyanese food today. "Oh you're South American" no I'm Carribbean😅

"What are you?" I'm black , some Indian , some European etc

It's truly a blessing (and curse at times explaining) to be Guyanese . I wouldn't want to be anything else !

Does anyone know if a Guyanese can apply for a Canadian visitor's visa while visiting the USA (NY)? And if so, is it advisable to do it while there or back home?

Hey! As the title states im wondering how common it is for Hindus and muslims to get married for other Guyanese? And did you convert to marry or did you maintain separate faith??

I wanted to see some options about this, as I saw it was not mentioned anywhere. In my opinion, Guyana deserves visa-free access to the Schengen Area and I hope it can get there, but I find the claims made by the president somewhat hypocritical.

I find it odd that he claims Guyana is being treated unfairly when Guyana's visa policy actively discriminates against Schengen states. A few schengen member states Hungary, Poland, Romania, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Bulgaria, and Malta require a visa, while others (the richer ones) do not.

Guyana is the only country with real chances of getting a Schengen visa exemption that actually behaves this way. I doubt the EU views this disparity favorably, and addressing this issue could improve Guyana's chances.

Ultimately, Guyana should try to extend visa-free access to all Schengen members or require visas from all of them, rather than applying an uneven, two-tiered system.

Hi! I’m visiting Guyana and staying in a hotel. I turned on the tv and there was this channel with just a picture of a guy holding a mug with his dog outside what I assume is his house! No music, no change in image over a 6 hour period, just the picture? I tried to look it up but nothing came up,

So I was in town today, crossing the road to get over to bounty right and I saw this black car stopping for me and I thought okay, let me cross over now, but when I cross the car freaking hit my side luckily I didn't fall over, I wasn't hurt or anything and in my defense I saw the CAR STOPPED for me, anyways I pulled back and the coconut man and the lady who was a bystander waiting for a bus was like watch where I was going over and over and I was like I did I thought the car stopped for me because he literally stopped from a far distance. And the coconut man kept saying it over and over again and then he was like let me cross you over and he did. Bro I was so shameful to walk out back that supermarket. I never experienced something like this before and idk how to feel. I'm so embarrassed and I work right in town so like 😞😞😞😞
