Anyone use the Norma 124 Grain FMJ ammo? Any issues with it? Reading it’s dirty but have a bunch and want to use it for a class.

Looking for a 9mm handgun for home defense and range shooting. Had a 9mm Garrison that shot good, but wanted a bit more (rail for fiber optics or red dot or underslung flashlight). I'm also a smaller guy, so recoil can be an issue...

Been looking at a few pistols:
Canick Rival
Walther PDP (it's chonky!)
Springfield Echelon, with red dot and ported
Springfield Prodigy

Any suggestions, recommendations welcomed

I’m looking for a 9mm handgun primarily for home defense, with a budget of around $1,000.

My biggest priority is minimal felt recoil and muzzle rise. I want something that feels extremely smooth, stable, and easy to control. I also strongly prefer a rear grip safety, where you have to depress the safety with your palm.

I’ve tried a few pistols so far:

Canik METE SFT: Absolutely loved it. Very smooth, minimal kick, and felt extremely easy to control. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have the rear grip safety I want.

S&W Equalizer: Really liked it. Slightly more recoil than the Canik, but still comfortable.

Beretta M9: Surprisingly didn’t like it. Despite being heavier, it felt jumpier and harder to control.

I’ve been researching the Springfield Ronin and Garrison 1911s in 9mm, but I’m open to absolutely any brand.

My questions:
What are the softest-shooting 9mm handguns you’ve personally tried that have a rear grip safety?

Would a full-size steel 1911 like the Ronin or Garrison feel noticeably smoother than the Equalizer?

Are there any underrated options around $1,000 or less that I should rent?

Is there a meaningful recoil difference between the Ronin and Garrison?

I’m not particularly concerned about concealed carry or size since this is primarily for home defense.

I plan to rent and test before buying. I’m especially interested in hearing from people who have actually shot multiple models side by side.

Has anyone had reliable success running the 45-90 arc fire v2 and the SEE printed trip? Tested and get short 2-3 round bursts? Seems like the selector lever is not resetting as it should. Getting a rub mark on the bottom of the trip below the radius/ ramp. Any help or insight is appreciated. Thanks!

I own a Sig P365 Xmacro and a Canik METE MC9 PRIME. If I decide to get another would it be best to stay in one of the brands I already own or does it make a difference?

Bought a TLR-7X for my vp9 this week, and was so impressed with the fitment on my P30sk as well, that I ordered another one. I have a Falco leather IWB holster on the way for this one.

VP9A1 X is getting transformed into my new nightstand gun, so I threw a new light on it today. TLR-7x fitment is perfect, and runs flush with the end of the barrel. Grip tape is bc I’m a sweaty mofo and live in the south where it’s 80% humidity all summer.

We are only discussing the cartridge not the gun. The gun which can be configured for either cartridge is a Soviet Makarov, so lets use it as the default weapon.

Which do you choose and more importantly WHY?

And while we are at it what specific cartridge (make, weight...)? Why?

Does this seem like a devious thing done by someone so the gun would not fire first round in clip that was chambered? Or is it all just coincidence? Either way I went to clean my gun and I always keep on changing I cleared it in the bullet came out like this once ejected? Any input?

Its almost finished. Just waiting on the jig to cut the FCU so it will accept a manual safety. P320 FCU, Tribe threaded barrel, B&T P320 USW chassis, MCarbo Flat trigger, Holosun 407C and a homemade suppressor.
