There were a lot of times where I looked up at the DA greats of that time thinking I'd never get better. It took a long time, but I think kid me would be happy.

Pumpkin and Bell Pepper Contour Drawing - Exercise from NMA. Decided to revisit the exercise to see if I had noticeable improvement in my lines! I definitely feel more confident.

It also took me a fraction of the time lmao. I always hated my art, especially 10 years ago, but I think I am finally getting to a point where I am impressed with myself. I went through a lot of health problems that prevented me from practicing efficiently. Now that I am in a better place I feel like it's actually showing in my progress. It's not perfect but it feels good to create again without being in pain :)

2018 vs 2021 vs 2026

I think I've grown a lot in the past few years, specially with my coloring.

I made this drawing in 2018 exactly for this purpose, to stablish a drawing I could get back too and measure progress (A lot of my fav artists had it).

I am not consistent with it, I thought of continuing it back in 2024 but it ended up as just a traditional version I'm not really sure I still have.

The rules I set for mysel back in 2018 was mantaining all the details, they can change colors but everything must still be there in the character.

I cannot use references, I go in blind.

What do you think?

Here’s one year of progress. I guess I got better at anatomy, but still — it’s way less stylised and that makes me feel like my characters look… bland? Any kind of critique is welcome.
