What to do next before hitting time limit for lemon buyback?

Purchased a 2024 CPO RS e-tron GT with 6300mi on 10/2/2026, went in for some small issues and bugs regarding software on 10/12/2026. The car has been at dealership since then.

The dealer has only Q5/A5 in their loaner fleet, so I am stuck with a gas car.

After they said the car is ready on 10/15/2026, I went in to pick up only to find on the spot that the Virtual Cockpits' Entertainment, Contact, and Navigation screen are in perpetual "Initializing" stage and wont' go beyond that. In addition, the HUD lost the Audi navigation directions, the HUD display setting's navigation options are also gone. So it went right back into service.

They said they are in contact with TAC not sure if it's NA or Germany TAC regarding the issue, it's been officially 14 days now, about half way for the TX Lemon law's 30 day period. I do like the car a lot, anything I can do to push them to escalate my issue? or I am just stuck waiting until it hit the lemon law status? Because tbh, at their current pace of communication with me, I really think they are going to hit the 30 day threshold for texas lemon law...

For those who did initiate and had successful lemon buyback from Audi USA, what was your experience? Would they keep providing a loaner until I receive the check or what? Any helpful tips regarding the process?

Audi A3 8Pa 2.0 16V 140ks

Moin zusammen,

Danke euch!

Leak over boot door?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Audi A3 2013
After heavy rain, I have noticed small amounts of water coming through the boot door when opened.

Today, after substantial and prolonged heavy rain, I have noticed this obvious leak. This is near enough directly under the seal of the back door.

Where should I begin with a repair for this?

Discussion Time to reject with Audi Finance? UK

In such a predicament right now, I got the car in November 2025, with just shy of 50k on the clock.

Timeline:

January
Camera mirrors went blank on two different occasions once each side for about 30 seconds which gives:
- Exterior mirror fault. Please contact workshop
Front passenger door sticking when opening which flagged:
- Central locking fault: see owners manual
- Exit warning system fault: contact workshop

May
Power steering failed and universal joint was replaced under warranty
- Note when this failed I was driving one handed and I jolted my shoulder so aggressively due to the momentum of the steering wheel when it failed, which has left me experiencing symptoms that are not improving and now I’m having an x-ray on Monday as my GP suspects I have a potential rotator cuff injury or an issue with my tendons from it. (Have to do an x-ray then can move to an ultrasound, CT/MRI no thanks to the long winded NHS process)

June
Experienced a juddering sensation from underneath at 50mph and had the following warnings on the dash which cleared after about 20 minutes:
- Predictive efficiency assist: automatic recuperation unavailable. See owner’s manual.
- Suspension fault. You can continue to drive.
- Four-wheel drive: fault. Restricted stability. Please contact workshop.
This went into the workshop and nothing could be found on the issue.

Also noticed a weird grinding noise when driving, didn’t matter whether I was accelerating or breaking, driving straight or turning but happens below 20mph intermittently. This was looked at with no result.

August
Had a red warning on the dash saying my left rear wheel bolts were coming loose and to stop. Called Audi assist, they sent someone from AA to check it over and everything was fine. Fault eventually disappeared.

October
My car went in for a service and upon the health check, the washer things for headlights have stopped working. It went back for a half a day investigation a couple of weeks later and they advised they couldn’t find anything for what they could access during that timeframe and they now need it for two days to fully strip the front and it’s booked in for 17th November with a loan car organised.

Sunday 18th in the evening I noticed that weird grinding noise came back with a vengeance and so I got out the car immediately as it sounded like a flat. Checked the car over couldn’t see anything so got back in and drove again, and it’s been intermittent throughout the week with multiple passengers mentioning it doesn’t sound right.

On Friday, I was in crawling traffic about 7mph and it was so loud and then a knocking sound appeared which was in sync with the wheel doing a full rotation. I got home and called Audi assist out, they took the car out and only heard the knocking noise once but I played hell to get it recovered to the dealership as I’m becoming uncomfortable at the thought of driving it. (Was doing a 350 mile round trip this weekend)

-

Generally speaking when a majority of these issues have appeared, I’ve taken photos of the dashboard faults and shared them with the team however as they are not active at time of investigation there is nothing they can do.

All in all, I’ve had enough. I love the car but it’s causing me so much material distress, I’m losing time travelling to and from the dealership, phone calls and emails to organise appointments regularly. I do a fair amount of long and short journeys regularly which makes me nervous incase something will go wrong due to me losing all confidence in the car.

It’s also good to note that warranty needs extending next month too and prices are between £92 - £175pm.

A bit of a rant, but looking for any advice ahead of my call to Audi tomorrow to raise a complaint and initiate the process of rejecting the vehicle. (First time ever doing this)

Thanks for reading.

Audi A4 2017 bracket troubles

I need help sourcing a bracket for my audi. I've looked and looked skimmed through many sites and been through countless part numbers but cannot find the bracket I need.

It sits on the headlights at the bottom of them and allows the bumper to connect into and sit flush. I have pictures added.

The brackets exist on the a3s and it's equivalents and I have them and they are readily available but I can't find the counterpart for the A4. I have all pictures and will upload them here as well.

The a3 equivalent part number is this 8v3807320. This part is exactly what I need but for the A4 2017 instead.

Audi Q5 50TDI 2022-23 Mild Hybrid

Hello,

I am currently considering the Audi Q5 (2022–2023) with either the 2.0 or 3.0 engine, specifically the 40 TDI and 50 TDI models, with a maximum mileage of up to 70,000 kilometers.

Any experiences, opinions, and insights are highly welcome.

• Is a 3.0L engine even necessary for us here in the Balkans? I would LOVE to get 50TDI.

• How do these engines handle city driving? We live in small city where you can do everything on foot.

• Are there any common issues or widespread problems with the 2.0/3.0 TDI engine?

• What are the real-world maintenance costs and experiences like?

• What are the experiences with the 48V starter-generator (BSG/alternator) in the mild-hybrid system on the 50 TDI? I read that there was a recall for alternators up to the 2021 model year.

• What specific details should I pay close attention to before buying?

I plan to import the vehicle from Germany into Bosnia and Herzegovina.

THANK YOU!

Audi Q5 2018 (EA888 Gen 3) Massive Oil Leak

Hey everyone,
I was tracking down a massive oil leak on my 2018 Audi Q5 (2.0T EA888 Gen 3) 80k miles. Using inspection cameras didn't show much other than the entire rear lower area being completely soaked in oil.
Since it was so bad, I decided to pull the transmission to investigate. Once I got in there, I found oil heavily pooling around the rear main seal (RMS) housing. I went ahead and replaced the RMS with an upgraded 034 Motorsport unit.  (Last picture)
When I finished putting everything back together, I took it for a test drive and then let it idle in the driveway for an hour while I cleaned up. My heart sank when I saw two drops of oil on the ground.
I'm pretty confused at this point. I'm trying to figure out if:

  1. It's just trapped residual oil draining out of the transmission bellhousing/subframe that I didn't clean completely (I plan to monitor and test more).
  2. The leak is actually coming from somewhere else up top (like the upper timing cover/cam girdle or turbo lines) and trickling down.
  3. Has anyone run into this after an RMS job? Any advice or suggestions would be hugely appreciated!

Audi A6 2012 C7 MMI Help

I have an Audi A6 2012 that I've recently bought in Japan, the screen does not pop out and none of the related buttons (i.e. the Media, Car, Nav, Tel or the volume) are illuminated. I've checked the fuses and none of them seem to be blown.

I'm thinking the MMI unit is the issue, is it as simple as replacing this unit with another one?

Discussion Oil sensor replacement

Hey guys,

I just recently decided to replace my digital oil level sensor on my audi a5 8t3 2009 3.0 tdi, and for some reason, the car won't show me the oil level at all now. Does anybody please have an idea of what I might have missed/done wrong? I simply drained the oil, switched out the old sensor for the new one, plugged the cable back into the sensor (I made sure to hear a *click* noise), poured the oil back in and put everything back together.

I viewed the car this morning, ive left a deposit and will be joining the Audi TT club 👍.£11,695 with 60K miles full service history.

TT 2.0L TFSI

Viewed the car this morning and it was honestly in such a better condition than the last one. Full service history and looked really clean. 60K miles which is low for the year only doing on average of 3,000 miles per year.

Looks clean, well looked after and the s-line variant which honestly does look a lot more aggressive.

As long as I keep it well maintaned and serviced regularly then I think it's a decent choice. Yes the quattro would have been a better choice but unfortunately i can't find any priced where Im comfortable paying it. This was just on the money for what i wanted and ticked all the boxes.

Here's to hopefully many years of fun Audi ownership, also is there anything i need to look out for ? Recommend checking once ive got the car ?

Discussion Gernot Döllner controversy for appearing with Trump (Audi CEO)

I think VW's union boss should actually be grateful for how long Audi held off bringing production to the US. BMW and Mercedes came in the 90s, nearly 30 years ago. The unions in Germany have gotten way too greedy and it left Audi with no choice but to move even more production out of Europe. Audi publicly admitting that their US business is "not profitable" should be alarming to anyone that cares about the future of the company. Audi is not a charity and it has to make money. They either cut some jobs in Germany, or go bankrupt and then everyone loses their job.

As for appearing with Trump, any company executive has to work with whatever administration is in control at the time. Audi cannot afford to drag things out any longer and wait several months/years until new leadership arrives. For the record, I personally don't support Trump whatsoever

Official: Audi Plans $4 Billion Georgia Factory, Its First U.S. Production Site

Post image
351 Upvotes

Audi plans to invest approximately $4 billion in its first U.S. vehicle production site at the Middle Georgia Mega Site in Perry, Georgia, creating about 4,500 jobs. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027, with production starting in the early 2030s. The plant will have annual capacity of up to 200,000 vehicles and build premium SUVs tailored to North American customers.

The investment is part of Audi’s strategy to expand in the United States, the world’s second-largest premium vehicle market. Audi aims to combine a product portfolio focused on American customer needs with local manufacturing and a more competitive business model to support profitable growth. It also intends to establish North America as a third major pillar of its global production network alongside Europe and China. MORE HERE.
