Friends, coworkers, even family seem to look down on you when your goals don’t involve raising kids, helping everyone out, or making sacrifices for other people.

He is full Malay (this guy is browner than anyone I know). He has started to lie to Chinese people telling them he is half Chinese. For me this isn't a huge problem, like if he hates being brown and wants to lie, who cares?

But it just annoys me cause I am Eurasian and he's always calling me white and gatekeeping Malay culture even though I am half Malay, Muslim, speak Arabic and learning Malay. I don't know why I am not allowed to call myself half Malay but he is allowed to lie and call himself Chinese. He is also going around LARPing being able to speak Arabic to seem exotic and impress our East Asian friends (we are in a western country) but can't even speak a basic sentence and sounds like a little kid cause he didn't listen in school
