Question Grade 12 confused as pre med
Hello.
I am kinda confused between Science programs
There are 3 of them named like
-Science – Honours
-Science – Major
- Science – Non-Honours
What is the difference between these 3 science?
also
-Cognitive Science – Honours
-Cognitive Science – Non Honours
What is the difference?
I am applying to Health sci but i am kinda confused between the other 2 program because They offer alternative offer to Science Honours: Biology (Health Science) and Bachelor of Science Honours gives to science so if the alternative is guaranteed I might just apply to 2 program (Health sci and Sci Honours) ans save money
I am also concerned because Only Science Honours gives co-op but none of the others
Please let me know What are the best option for getting in and i dont wanna say (guaranteed) but like high chance of securing spot?
Thanks

Course selection Thoughts on CLCV 1003 and FILM 1101? Any Better Breadth Electives?
I'm currently registered for CLCV 1003 (Laura Gagne) and FILM 1101 (Jake Adam Pitre) for the winter term, but I'm having second thoughts about both.
I know there's no such thing as an effortless A+, but as a CS student, I'd prefer electives that don't take up too much time from my core courses, especially if getting a good grade still requires a lot of effort.
Would you recommend either of these courses? If not, are there any other manageable breadth electives you'd suggest? Preferably ones without essays.
Thanks!

Question How do you deal with groupmates who submit AI-generated work?
I've been dealing with groupmates who submit what appears to be AI-generated work without properly reviewing it. Some of the material doesn't align with the course content or previous assignments.
It's frustrating because other group members end up spending considerable time correcting or rewriting the work. There's also the concern that unauthorized AI use could create academic-integrity issues for the group.
I've raised my concerns with the professor and provided supporting evidence.
Has anyone at Carleton dealt with something similar? How was it handled? Did the professor or university take meaningful action?
I'm particularly interested in how others protected their own grades and ensured their individual contributions were fairly assessed.

Other looking to make some friends at carleton :)
hey!! i’m living in residence this year at carleton and looking to meet some new people!! i’d especially love to meet other girls, but i’m open to anyone :)
i’d love to have people to grab food with, study together, go on walks or hikes, or just hang out around campus with! i’m also trying to get more consistent with the gym, but i’m still pretty new to it and figuring out what i’m doing lol, so having a gym buddy to keep each other motivated and accountable would be really nice!!
going to the dining hall alone can feel a little awkward sometimes lol, so it’d be nice to have people to go with!
i’m into music, fitness, psychology, some anime, and reading. i’d also love to explore ottawa more, try new food spots, go to events or check out the nightlife, or just do random little activities together. i'm pretty open to trying new things!
i know there are clubs and events on campus, but i figured i’d put myself out there here too! sometimes it’s easier to meet people one-on-one or through shared interests, so i’d love to connect with anyone who’s also looking to make friends.
feel free to comment or message me!! ♡

Question Has anyone gotten an ADHD evaluation at health services and not been diagnosed with it?
For those of you who have done an ADHD evaluation specifically with Carleton’s health services, did any of you not get diagnosed with ADHD? Everyone I know of who got an evaluation got the diagnosis, including me. I’m skeptical that I have ADHD. There’s a lot of things much more common than ADHD that can contribute to issues with focus, executive functioning, and impulse control.
I’m wondering if health services overall might be too lax with the diagnostic criteria and not screening enough for other things if literally everyone is getting diagnosed with ADHD. However, I concede there are several possible legit reasons for why diagnosis rates could be high in this setting.
Alternatively, if you did get evaluated and diagnosed by health services, what gave you confidence that the evaluation was adequately thorough and didn’t miss other factors that could contribute to ADHD-like symptoms?
