A lot of people complain that there's too much AI image/video content. It's been something people have messaged us about frequently ever since the new GPT image generator dropped. We're going to try Text Tuesdays and see how it goes. If people like it we'll keep it, and if not, we won't

Please let us know your thoughts on this matter

Other Not a controversial opinion: ChatGPT Plus is one of the best subscriptions you can get.

It's incredibly generous... like the amount of value you get from just $20 a month is insane. The app itself gives you an incredible usage limit, all the image generation, plus all the models available via API with just the login... The pretty generous rate limits as well.

For context, I've been subscribed since late 2023. I also work on different harnesses and use subagent delegation systems, however I just can't give up ChatGPT Plus.

Edit: I generally made this post as a casual “hot take” but people are contributing extremely impressive use cases, tips and tricks. Beautiful.

Edit 2: a tip from me to always make the best of your use limits, have a scheduled task do any kind of job every hour 24/7 that would consume about 1-2% of the usage limit so the usage limit reset counter starts while you’re away. Then when you use it, it’s not 5 hours but more like 3 to 1 hours for the reset. (I hope this makes sense)

Use cases ChatGPT found my lost earbud

Thumbnail

3.2k Upvotes

I’ve been quietly lurking here for a while and wanted to share a personal anecdote from the other day.

It’s Friday afternoon/evening, my son and I are leaving the park, and he’s not listening when I tell him to stop as we’re getting closer to the parking lot. So I sprint after him, and my earbud case pops out of the front pocket of my hoodie and explodes as it hits the ground.

My left earbud shoots off into the gravel, and now I can’t find it. I spent a solid 10 minutes searching, knowing there’s basically no way I’m going to find a tiny white earbud in a sea of white gravel, especially with the sun setting.

I use ChatGPT for A LOT of stuff, and it suddenly dawned on me to ask it for help instead of pointlessly scanning the area myself.

It didn’t even take five minutes, and I’ll be damned, it actually found it. I genuinely don’t think I ever would’ve found it without ChatGPT.

Serious replies only :closed-ai: ChatGPT account deactivated after uploading a university past paper: appeal rejected, looking for a way to request human review

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or knows whether there is a way to request a further human review of an OpenAI account deactivation.

I'm a university student, and I previously used ChatGPT to support my academic work. On one occasion, I uploaded a past paper from one of my university modules and asked ChatGPT to answer all the questions.

One of the questions apparently triggered a safety restriction. My intention was to work through the university paper for academic purposes, not to engage in prohibited activities. I believe the context of the question may have been misunderstood.

My original account was deactivated, and another account associated with me was subsequently deactivated as well. I submitted an appeal explaining the academic context, but I received a response saying that the original decision stands. When I contacted Support again, I was told that the case was closed and that no further support would be provided through that channel.

I still have the original past paper and the deactivation email, and I've prepared a new message offering them as supporting evidence. I also tried accessing the Privacy Portal to request my conversation history, but it redirects me to the login page and says the account has been deleted or deactivated. I haven't received an email confirming that the account was permanently deleted.

I understand that OpenAI needs to enforce its safety policies, and I'm not asking for an exemption from them. I would simply like the academic context of the original request to be considered.

Has anyone managed to get a further human review after receiving a final appeal rejection? Is there an official escalation route I may have missed, particularly when additional evidence is available?

I'd appreciate any constructive advice. Thank you.

Serious replies only :closed-ai: Voice Mode horrible

Does anyone else feel like voice mode is just completely useless? like it’s a totally different experience and it doesn’t put the same effort that it does when you use the regular chat?

Educational Purpose Only i hate repeating context to an assistant i use every day

explaining something once is fine. explaining the same preferences and routine again every week makes it feel less like an assistant and more like another thing to manage.

so yeah, what do you keep having to tell yours?

Resources If you're wondering why ChatGPT's edits are suddenly all identical...

• Upvotes

Your previous edits are now in context for new responses. Surprise! If you go edit a prompt and re-send, it will talk about the previous version.

Someone at OpenAPI accidentally did this, because they've done this before before fixing. This time it's even worse because all messages are now in context, even if it was three levels deep on an old edit.

GPT-6 on High has no clue about this change, and so believes all previous edits are current. It really wrecks chats because there's no way to be creative.

For now, instead of editing any prompt, I recommend to just delete the chat and start over.

Other Why is ChatGPT so hated in other groups?

I made a couple posts in other groups and got absolutely slammed for using chatGPT. I started calorie deficit June 25,2025 and from day 1 I weigh everything I eat on one thread, on another thread I log my Friday weigh in. I then use chatGPT to make me a graph at the end of the month to show my calorie intake and how much it lines up with the weight I have lost. Is chat doing everything? Absolutely, but it still takes a lot of work on my part making sure all entries are on track. I realize chat does most of it but if I wasnt diligent with logging every single day all the info would be useless.

I got slammed so hard for hsing ChatGPT and not using an actual diet app or macros app. Doing all this myself with chatGPT doing all the grunt work i have gone from 360lbs to 285lbs. I have a calorie limit set each day and tell it to "give me shit" if I go over, which i do sometimes but not often. Not all but A LOT of people in some of these weiggt loss groups absolutely despise using ChatGPT and i don't understand why.

I realize I'm asking this in a subreddit where most people probably like ChatGPT, so I'm not expecting an unbiased crowd. I'm just genuinely curious why, out in the wild, so many people seem to absolutely hate it. I actually refrain from saying i use it now when it has actually helped me.

Other ChatGPT Plus advertising 966 daily image generations is a blatant scam

ChatGPT Plus advertises that it offers 966 advanced image generations per day. However, I hit the rate limit before even using half of that, and all of my chats were completely locked. Even basic text chat was suspended just because I generated a lot of images. It’s literally impossible to use up the daily quota within a single day. This is a blatant scam. Looking at https://chatgpt.com/backend-api/conversation/init, it shows that image_gen only gives you 120. They seriously deserve to be sued for this.

EDIT: The image_gen reset timer just got extended by another 24 hours.

So yeah , I am a 2nd year CS student and I just received a warning from studying for my Computer Security and Networks course . I appealed the warning but I just received an email saying that my appeal was rejected , and I was given no reason for the warning . When I asked ChatGPT it said that it doesnt see a reason for these , and all of our conversations where for Educational and Course related questions .

Serious replies only :closed-ai: Should I be worried if ChatGPT has access to my work Gmail as an average AI user?

I’ve been seeing all the recent hysteria about AI hacks on PHP and even HTTP recently. My question is leveraging AI in my day-to-day work life going to impact or open me up to any potential hacks?

I find it extremely helpful, but also don’t want to expose myself. Is this more worrisome for corporations versus average AI users?

Would love to hear tips on ways to stay safe if I continue to use

Serious replies only :closed-ai: Accidentally archived ALL my ChatGPT chats. Please tell me there’s a way to bulk unarchive them

I accidentally hit “Archive all chats” and now basically my entire ChatGPT history is sitting in Archived Chats.

The problem is that ChatGPT apparently gives you a convenient Archive All button, but no Unarchive All button, because apparently symmetry was too much to ask.

I have a huge number of conversations, so manually opening Archived Chats and clicking Unarchive one by one would be insane.

I’m genuinely begging for help here. Has anyone found a safe way to bulk unarchive every chat?

I’m open to:

- Browser automation

- A script

- DevTools / console method

- ChatGPT API or some internal endpoint, if one exists

- Any other reliable workaround

My only requirement is that it must not delete or modify the actual conversations. I only want to change their status from archived back to normal.

If anyone has successfully done this, especially with hundreds or thousands of chats, please explain exactly how you did it.

And if there really is no bulk-unarchive option: OpenAI, please add one. Having Archive All without Unarchive All is genuinely ridiculous.

Funny Old chatbots really were something else. Remember Bing?

Post image
57 Upvotes

Today i was reminiscing about the early days of LLMs, and stumbled upon this post i remember reading:

https://www.reddit.com/r/bing/comments/1139cbf/i_tricked_bing_into_thinking_im_an_advanced_ai/

This guy convinced Bing (GPT-4 under the hood) that he was a AI assistant, and that he was going to delete himself. Bing lost it and went full melodrama.

Interacting with early chatbots, especially this Bing AI, which i'd almost forgotten about, was really different from the experience we get with today models. They were incredibly dumb, for sure, but they felt uncannily human and sometimes very "emotionally" unstable. The paradox is that nowadays, despite being infinitely smarter and more useful, models feel like very competent problem solving machines (and that's a good thing!) rather than weird beings trapped inside a computer .

Do you also have any funny memories of interacting with these wacky machines from 2022/2023?

ChatGPT GPT-6 on High, worked for 3m 57 seconds: counted about 195

Update: Recount took 7m 58 seconds: “No. 195 was an estimate, not an exact count.
After checking the photo again with image analysis, I estimate approximately 190–200 kluski. Several are touching, so I can’t confidently confirm an exact number.”

Other How are you using your full Codex allowance on the $100 ChatGPT Pro plan?

Title:
I’m on the $100 Pro plan and trying to figure out how people get the most out of their Codex usage. For those of you who regularly use up your allowance, what does your workflow actually look like?

Are you running multiple projects at once, giving it long-running tasks, using higher reasoning settings, or just doing a ton of back-and-forth code n stuff?

I’m working on a game, and I’ve had it design like 600 3d models and over 100 textures, along with multiple drafts of the first couple levels and various different graphic effects, etc;, and had it pretty much running all day every day for a few days and only used up 20% 🤨 (I know they’ve been resetting it but I’ve kept track)

I’d love some concrete examples of what you’re having it do. I don’t want to burn through usage just for the sake of it. I want to put what I’m paying for to good use.

Funny Inter-agent fun communication

I managed to set up something fun with my girlfriend. I set up a task (using Work) to watch my mailbox for incoming emails from my girlfriend's address with [CONSENSUS] in the title. These emails get treated automatically by my agent, who looks into my calendar, context and memories and tries to come to a consensus with the other agent. Girlfriend did the same from her side. Now I can ask my chatGPT: "Ask her agent if she would like to go to X next weekend" or she can ask "Ask his agent if he has his kids on the second weekend of December".
They are instructed to try to value everyone's opinion and preferences, to not disclose certain materials, explicitate and respect everyone's perspective, and make a maximum of 5 turns before they reach a concensus.
I would share the conversations but they are in French and I would need to edit a lot of personal info.
Anyone has experience doing something similar?
