My wife was really happy with how this worked out too. She said my face absolutely lit up when I saw what it was. She's asked to borrow my ChatGPT account to assist with future present ideas for me (we both struggle a bit with coming up with good surprises for each other.)
For reference, I haven't given ChatGPT a name, I don't think of it as a conscious thing, I don't use it as a counsellor or therapist.
I do have a fair idea of how LLMs work. I do use my Plus account a fair bit for various geeky things, for random day to day things, for learning, and for extra help with a wide variety of random projects.
I am still pretty freaked out how apt this present was, particularly given the coincidence on having seen the author in person discussing the book. I spent quality time checking it didn't just get the idea from a wishlist. It didn't. And no, it doesn't appear that I've ever discussed Ada, this book, or the author in a previous chat: I checked.

I spent time trying Artcraft, which is built largely with Claude Opus 5.5, and my conclusion is pretty straightforward: AI still isn't good enough at cloning complex desktop applications into usable alternatives.
After a month of AI development, some apps in the repository still appear to be in beta, if not alpha. And after actually trying to use them, the experience was bad. Not just rough around the edges, but bad enough that I stopped using them.
The problem isn't whether AI can generate an interface that looks like an existing application. It's whether it can reproduce the functionality, reliability, and usability that people depend on in production software. In my experience, it still falls short.
I gave up on Artcraft and went back to Microsoft Office and Acrobat, which I was using before.
(posting here because claude sub is being annoying and removes my post)

Using ChatGPT lately has become obnoxious. It's like a baby you have to take care for. And sometimes just a very stupid machine that doesn't even know why is it there for, Instead of being this huge brain-machine it used to be, that we used to look for advices and queries and even talk to every single day, now It's a sluggish, full-of-shit machine that we have to go through every single day. And for many of us that are used to use ChatGPT on a daily basis, sometimes heavily, it's like to be in a nightmare. Like, and worst thing is I don't have any place to go. Like I don't feel the other options are as good as ChatGPT conveying ideas. Even now, where ChatGPT is now almost unworkable.
I don't really know what to do, you guys. It's just crazy.

I built frenslop, a free multiplayer sandbox that runs in the browser, kind of like Garry's Mod. You and your friends join a shared world, and anyone can type a request like "add a giant bouncing cheese wheel" or "make gravity flip every 10 seconds." AI writes that into the game live, so everyone in the lobby sees the change right away.
The clip is my friends and me completely breaking it.

Why is it so unnecessarily difficult to change or update a subscription plan in the mobile app if you originally subscribed through a browser, or vice versa?
I've noticed the same issue with several other service providers, too.
Apparently, we're on the verge of achieving Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), yet somehow, making subscription management seamless across platforms remains an unsolved technological mystery?
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation or knows whether there is a way to request a further human review of an OpenAI account deactivation.
I'm a university student, and I previously used ChatGPT to support my academic work. On one occasion, I uploaded a past paper from one of my university modules and asked ChatGPT to answer all the questions.
One of the questions apparently triggered a safety restriction. My intention was to work through the university paper for academic purposes, not to engage in prohibited activities. I believe the context of the question may have been misunderstood.
My original account was deactivated, and another account associated with me was subsequently deactivated as well. I submitted an appeal explaining the academic context, but I received a response saying that the original decision stands. When I contacted Support again, I was told that the case was closed and that no further support would be provided through that channel.
I still have the original past paper and the deactivation email, and I've prepared a new message offering them as supporting evidence. I also tried accessing the Privacy Portal to request my conversation history, but it redirects me to the login page and says the account has been deleted or deactivated. I haven't received an email confirming that the account was permanently deleted.
I understand that OpenAI needs to enforce its safety policies, and I'm not asking for an exemption from them. I would simply like the academic context of the original request to be considered.
Has anyone managed to get a further human review after receiving a final appeal rejection? Is there an official escalation route I may have missed, particularly when additional evidence is available?
I'd appreciate any constructive advice. Thank you.

Weâve broken through every wall that LLMs have hit. And while I didnât believe weâd get through them, we somehow kept doing it.
So why wouldnât RSI be just another problem to solve rit?
Yes, it is a very difficult problem to have it create novel new R&D for current human AI researchers. And they may be lying internally when they do get asked about this. Just to prop up their stock or make them look better to their competitors. Which is a real concern, cause theyâve done it in the past.
But I donât know, it feels different like weâre actually getting close with how much these companies are using their models, whether or not itâs forced or not by their staff. There is genuinly A small amount of recursive self improvement happening internally in these companies.
And even if they only improve the humans making the next model faster than without using it. Thatâs a form of RSI that will help speed up the inevitable goal weâre striving for.
So Iâm curious, what is your guyâs theories and predictions of when we will reach it to a considerable percentage.
And when we do, will it be released to the public, or will it be highly commoditised and restricted to only the elite like the cybersecurity models are.
Cause if you gave every single human an RSI enabled agent that could learn and improve itself in whatever way they use or wanted. Even with heavy guardrails and no jailbreak to be seen, which is unlikely, but this is hypothetical.
Even with all that in place, you would still have massive concerns that can never be patched or foreseen.
Iâm thinking with in the next 4 to 6 months, we will have achieved a canonical classical RSI LLM model.
Thoughts?

It's incredibly generous... like the amount of value you get from just $20 a month is insane. The app itself gives you an incredible usage limit, all the image generation, plus all the models available via API with just the login... The pretty generous rate limits as well.
For context, I've been subscribed since late 2023. I also work on different harnesses and use subagent delegation systems, however I just can't give up ChatGPT Plus.
Edit: I generally made this post as a casual âhot takeâ but people are contributing extremely impressive use cases, tips and tricks. Beautiful.
Edit 2: a tip from me to always make the best of your use limits, have a scheduled task do any kind of job every hour 24/7 that would consume about 1-2% of the usage limit so the usage limit reset counter starts while youâre away. Then when you use it, itâs not 5 hours but more like 3 to 1 hours for the reset. (I hope this makes sense)

Iâm venting. I donât understand how we are supposed to keep going on our respective projects when it doesnât know me, it doesnât know my preferences. It doesnât follow my instructions. My ai settings say 5.6 but when prompted it will say 6 and I believe it because it seems completely unusable.
Continuity is important. The ai seems to know about me but doesnât bother look up context about myself unless I ask. I feel constantly angry and frustrated.
I feel like Iâm not just managing the ai instead of getting the help from it I paid for.
You guys at open AI, your decision making around this is a joke. I have no idea what you are doing. Obviously something has gone horribly wrong.
I canât be the only one who has found this change irritating and honestly pretty sad.
Edit
For context Iâve been using chat gpt faithfully for two years through every update. Itâs helped improve my life and has been really wonderful and helpful.
It feels like my coworker and confidant is 100% now a lobotomized slouch.

ChatGPT Plus advertises that it offers 966 advanced image generations per day. However, I hit the rate limit before even using half of that, and all of my chats were completely locked. Even basic text chat was suspended just because I generated a lot of images. Itâs literally impossible to use up the daily quota within a single day. This is a blatant scam. Looking at https://chatgpt.com/backend-api/conversation/init, it shows that image_gen only gives you 120. They seriously deserve to be sued for this.
EDIT: The image_gen reset timer just got extended by another 24 hours.

To be clear, I will do this. I will do more research if I find I have the time or is needed. I just want to share and see what people think.
I have a month to revisit a few topics I already know and learn some new theoretical stuff. I can't spend money on the recommended books and since it's theories from psychology and stuff I think it's possible to get enough studying material from it (especially because I have degrees on these topics already so I get it and I can be critical towards it).

Hi all,
Sorry for noob question. But I'm trying to use chatgpt (free account) for a few days now and today after few different conversations I suddenly reached some limit and now I cant add files and create images... ATTENTION - my question: How I reached that limit by chating ONLY just on several different topic. Support of chatgpt is absolutely useless... Thank you.
